MVP Offensive Player of the Year Defensive Player of the Year Offensive Rookie of the Year Defensive Rookie of the Year Coach of the Year
My ballot:
MVP - Mahomes. I keep reading Drew Brees think pieces and they make me a little concerned he’s about to win a career achievement award and while I like Drew as much as I can like a non-Chiefs QB, the Chiefs QB just threw nearly 20 more TDs and 1000 more yards so I can’t pick against him.
Offensive POTY: I’m bracing for Mahomes getting this one instead of MVP, but he’s honestly deserving of this one too.
Defensive POTY: Donald
Rookies: I’ll go Mayfield for sure, I don’t know enough about the defensive rooks but I like the Chargers Derwin James.
Coach: This is a really tough one. I am between Reich, Carroll, Harbaugh and Reid. Reich has the biggest turnaround, so I’ll go with him I reckon.

I agree with most of the awards. I hope someone else can get OPOY year award that isn't a quarterback since they usually just take hope the MVP as their award. Give it to a skill position guy like McCaffery who was a ton of fun to watch this year. It won't happen but it would be cool.
DROY is Darius Leonard. He put up great numbers for an ILB plus helped transform a Colts defense into a very credible unit. He has the best combination of numbers and on field impact and is already the best player on defense for the Colts his rookie year and is going to be a centerpiece of that defense in the same way Kuechly or Wagner have been for years.
Very close second to James , who doesn't have the gaudy numbers but jumps out anytime you watch the Chargers and making plays everywhere. With Bosa out he had a case to being the most important player on that defense , him or Ingram for sure. He could be an All Pro his rookie season.

On what basis? Mahomes, Mahomes, Donald, Barkley, Leonard, Carroll for me. Close between Carroll and Reich.

I don’t understand the Brees argument but I really don’t unserstand the Mack argument over Donald. My argument is that Mack is the only reason the Bears made the playoffs and he’ll win the award despite Donald having better stats.

My argument is that Mack is the only reason the Bears made the playoffs and he’ll win the award despite Donald having better stats. He’s really not though. He obviously is their best player but that defense was already on the rise with some pieces and Fangio coaching em up. Not to mention a Top 5 offensive line this year , Trubiskys elusiveness and Nagy having some good game plans. It’s nothing really to with stats , though Donald’s are unreal... he is also far more dominant on a snap per snap basis.

The Bears have 27 interceptions. That's 6 more than anyone else. Mack is great and part of it but the team defense as a whole is great.
Donald on other hand is getting things done on his own for the Rams line. Suh has been garbage and the linebackers haven't given him much from the edge.
I would say Mack is competing with Watt for best edge defender. Donald is my #2 to Mahomes for MVP.

There is NO argument for Mack being over Donald for DPOY.

I would have Andrew Luck as comeback player of the year. He's gone from everyone thinking he was finished when he was benched because he couldn't throw a hail mary in September to finishing the season right back in the elite quarterback echelon.

Yes but Watt came back from what could have been a career ending injury, and not only came back, but came back just as good as he was before. It's really close between them.

While it should be Mahomes, Brees'll may get a pity MVP, thinking Pat has many years to get another.

It's easy to make a comeback as a quarterback when nobody is allowed to touch you or your receivers. JJ Watt has to go to war on every play he plays, coming back from broken back and the plateau fracture in his knee to play like he has would be a real fucking crime for him to get passed up for that award, he's right there with Donald and Mack the two best defensive players in the league and outperformed them in several statistical categories.
And honestly I would even consider Andre Hal for the award, coming back from Cancer nobody expected to come back at all let alone at the level he has, he's tied for most interceptions on the Texans.

Two people listing someone other than Donald as DPOTY is just shocking.
Donald is the best defensive player in the league by a fucking mile. He hit 20 fucking sacks as DT. Unbelievable.

It will probably be Mahomes and Donald winning the awards and rightfully so.
I’m just a huge fan of Khalil Mack so I fanboy my vote.

Not sure if I just got dissed or complimented. Coming from KJ, it’s got to be both.
