Lance wasn't using that clip to say 'my generation was better' he was using that clip to point out a dumb spot. Evans then tried to make it a generational argument but that wasn't the point and Evans isn't exactly a glowing example of crisp clean wrestling.

Now that Jungle Boy is the #1 Contender and Kenny called him out on Dynamite I started thinking about his gimmick.
Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy. In a few years is he going to bulk up and become Jungle Man? What about him is jungle anyway? He looks a little bit like Tarzan? So his name is Jungle Boy, nothing to do with the jungle, he's just a handsome and youthful white meat babyface with no character. Great. Basically a Japanese Young Lion. His ceiling is pretty low and he's already reached it.
He's a good worker, has a ton of potential, but Jungle Boy is not sustainable.

Jack Perry® has more potential, that and the family and Hollywood connections. Which is an easy gimmick to work with and eventually transition into. Cut the hair, and work styling him after classic Hollywood types, 'King of Cool' etc.

Or at least continue paying what ever Brodie Lee was making. They probably just can't fully disclose it due to child labor laws.

I've read that Jack Perry hated the Jungle Boy gimmick but the crowds he was working seemed to enjoy it so he just ran with it. He's stuck with it now.

I've read that Jack Perry hated the Jungle Boy gimmick but, the crowds he was working seemed to enjoy it so he just ran with it. He's stuck with it now. I like that JR has been switching it up. Jungle Jack Perry is perfect. He should really start going with that name. Maybe after he loses to Omega, he'll realize he needs to get more serious and change it up a bit. I like that idea. It doesn't mean that Jack is abandoning the character completely. He's getting intense in a way that makes sense.

And hopefully loses the cosplayer and make-a-wish kid. Nah man Marko Stunt is hilarious to watch. He has Rugrats theme tights for goodness sakes :rofl: I think Marko has appeal to the kids who watch the show because he looks like one of em honestly. I think -1/Brodie's kid saying he is almost as tall as him was hilarious too. And Luchasaurus/Judas Devlin has always been a fun watch for me. The muay thai slow mo kicks and him trying a moonsault and barely doing any rotation on it is fantastic. He does more choreographed big men shit than Sean O Haire, and O Haire had far more explosive athleticism in his shit. I agree Jungle Boy is brought down by em but they are fun as hell to watch for these reasons.

I assume he'll eventually be Jungle Boy Jack Perry and no one is going to go out of their way to hide his past Tarzan tendencies but they're not going to refer to it much. Shawn Michaels is and was pretty much always called the Heartbreak Kid, well after the 'Playgirl model who wrestles' shtick wore out.
The Godfather kept his Godfather name when he transitioned from heavy bruiser of the Nation to cigar-loving pimp, even though the Godfather name makes much less sense in that context. We all just sorta went with it.

Forbes recently spoke to Tony Khan where it was noted that AEW received $43.7 million from TNT for their television deal. Despite this, the company is still in the red because they invested “8 figures” on their AEW Games division apparently.
This is becoming an expensive hobby.
