Two couples? Are you and wife swingers now? Also just started Knack 2. Knack 2 blows 1 out of the water and deserved much more attention, such a good game and even falls into an Uncharted type of storytelling. Obviously nowhere near as good voice acting or action scenes but the game was so well done but I think not everyone liking the 1st game ended up dooming 2 but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Shadow of Colossus blows.
Downloading Fire Pro Wrestling because I'm too lazy to find and plug in the N64.

I've never played the game, but I thought it was basically a world map with nothing but boss fights?
Also unrelated but I didn't poop today.

We all have those days sometimes. It'll be OK. Just drink a lot of water, hydrated turds move along easier. And coffee can sometimes give em a kick in the ass.

Pretty much.
Outside of the opening cinematic that sets the mood for the game, there's hardly any cut-scenes unless you count being booted back to the starting temple a cut-scene.
The Zelda comparison makes a lot of sense. It does feel like an attempt at making a Zelda, but instead of adhering to every element of a Zelda game, stripping it back so that the core elements remain. So instead of having to stick to a formula, the game can focus more on the combat and the amazing action set pieces. In fact, I feel it would go onto inspire Zelda with darker elements being introduced in Twilight Princess and climbing becoming a big focus from Skyward Sword on. It also set the standard for horse combat and it wasn't something Zelda would really get right until Breath of the Wild.
It's a really well paced game and I'd at least give it a solid two hour session before turning it in. I believe by about the forth or fifth colossus you really get to see some amazing set pieces and some wonderful out of the box game design.
Have you picked up DOOM or DOOM Eternal yet 🤯?

Have you picked up DOOM or DOOM Eternal yet 🤯? Two hours!?!? Any game worth its salt needs to hook a first-time player WAY sooner than that, IMO. I do like this line though: "set the standard for horse combat" Even if it reminds me that I couldn't even fight/kill Agro. I played Doom back in the early 90s or whenever it was that it first hit PCs and usurped Wolfenstein. Although I still preferred killing Nazis over demons. No idea what Eternal is. A sequel or remake on current generation consoles? Why? It's just like Zelda but with long shitty boring cut scenes. How long did you play it for? Do you dislike Zelda games? Including time wasted sitting through boring ass cut scenes? Maybe 30 minutes. And yes, massively dislike Zelda games. Hate that Link isn't Zelda. One of my original pet peeves about the series. Only think I remotely link about Zelda is/was occasionally playing as Link in the first Super Smash Bros for N64. He's never played one. I seriously don't know how Wife puts up with him. To be fair, I think more often than not, she doesn't know how she puts up with me either. Pregnancy and coronavirus quarantine will surely test her breaking points with me. Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games ever made. I'm not sure we can be friends anymore, 🤯. We must look for entirely different things in video games. I'm looking for something fun that's relatively easy to pick up and play. You must be looking for... I dunno, more boredom as a cure for existing boredom? If you and I can't be friends anymore, I guess I'll just have to move on and fully commit myself to Lionheart.

The first hour does a great job of introducing the core mechanics, but it gets even better and lives up to the hype the further you go along.
Sort of like the Wire.
Did you at least topple one colossus?
I was actually talking about the current gen games DOOM (2016) and it's sequel DOOM Eternal (2020). Both are action packed FPS games that are exhillerating from start to finish which I feel would be more up your alley.
I've never played them, but Borderlands kept coming up as a couch co-op game and it's another FPS that's filled with amazing visuals, character and loot. I feel like that's something you could sink your teeth into.
I don't know man, all I really know is COD and AKI Wrestling games. Did you hear that AEW could be working with Syn Sophia (aka the company that took over AKI).

I originally wrote that series off after not really getting the first episode. So glad I went back after a month or so and gave it another go. So now maybe Shadow does deserve another shake. (didn't make it to a Colossus) I played Borderlands a bit a few months back. It was alright, but similar to Destiny and Bioshock in so far as what's the difference? Even the new CODs are too convoluted. Nothing has supplanted COD:MW Remastered yet. Same for No Mercy. So far Fire Pro Wrestling is super sucking. Interesting to here about AEW partnering with former AKI. I so wish we'd gotten Backlash. Fucking GameCube ruined everything!

We must look for entirely different things in video games. I'm looking for something fun that's relatively easy to pick up and play. You must be looking for... I dunno, more boredom as a cure for existing boredom? Seems that way. There is definitely appeal in a video game you can just pick up and play, and I agree that cutscene heavy games can get a bit tiring. Sounds like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, Shovel Knight and the Doom games are more up your alley. You don't have the patience for fine art gaming like Shadow of the Colossus.

It's the complete opposite of the AKI system. Whereas AKI is incredibly easy to pick up and play, FPW takes ages to do the bare basics and it really is a game for hardcore fans of Japanese Wrestling. It's a rewarding game, but it's really difficult to get your head around if you've played a considerable amount of No Mercy and SmackDown.

I can see why Shadow of Colossus might not be for everyone but on the plus side it was free with ps plus so nothing loss. As for setting a standard in combat I don't know. I tend to hate the one that forced heavy horse combat though it could be more a problem with my bow and arrow skills. I spent so long fighting Phalanx (the giant flying sand snake) despite figuring out the strategy of the fight early. This is probably going to be someone favorite fight too since it looks epic.

What other games even bothered to have you fight on horseback other than OoT and Majora's Mask? Sure you could compare it to any vehicularcombat but there's just a different cadence when it comes to riding a horse than a Halo style warthog or a bike in GTA Vice City.
Despite OoT promoting it heavily as a key feature, horseback riding was a completely optional component of the game and the one highlight is the on-rails shooter at the Gerudo Training Grounds. The po side quest is one of the game's weaker segments and feels completely tacked on just to make use of the land and Epona.
Compare that to Shadow and it's night and day. In fact I don't think anything comes close until Breath of the Wild - even Twilight Princess felt less realised.

Ness's list makes me realize I play quite a few trash games to the end. And speaking of trash games despite how much I disliked Jump Force, I forced myself to finish it. And the last boss fight may be the most broken fighting game boss ever or at least up there. His ultra move is an unblockable infinite range near instant move that will take 75% of your life away. He also has a regular special attack that takes 1/3 of your life. If you get hit by the ult even at full life you die since he will do those move back to back. His normal combo does about half your life. He also has another annoying attack that I don't think ever stops but by time he uses it you are already dead or near dead so it normally just shoots your corpse to rub salt in the wound. It almost if he touch you once you are going to die. The only way I manage to dodge his ult is sidestep when I assume he may do it. The only saving grace is the cpu is kind of stupid when it comes to the ults so when they are ready there is a good chance they will use them.

Doom Eternal
Let me say this first, I think this is a great game. The action is fast, the violence is over the top, satanic to the max, and the metal is everywhere. All things you would want in a Doom game. I should also mention that this is a real looker. Running smooth as butter, cranked up to max settings in 4K, it looks next gen like at times, id Tech 7 is something special.
But...I just don't think it's as good as Doom 2016. It's like they almost tried to do much at times. They've added so many new features and mechanics, and while they are work fine by themselves and are smart ideas...they just don't gel sometimes. It goes a little too heavy at times with it's mix of platforming and puzzles IMO. The missions are all long, like really long. The difficuty is usually fine (it's a fairly hard game) but when the game doesn't seem to be working quite the way they probably intended and that's why it's hard? That's just frustrating. The humor isn't bad, but they definitely leaned just a little too much into it this time compared to the first. I guess I just wish it was more focused. More content isn't always better.

In all honesty I'm still mad about the KH2's opening. Like we should've received KH3 free of charge for slogging through that. Reminds me of Hilaryfan and how he'd defend KH2 to the death whenever I'd shit on it.

Started playing the Final Fantasy 7 remake last night, as we got it super early in Australia. I never played the original (I’m not a huge fan of turn based attack games), but I really loved Final Fantasy 15. Pretty excited to get into this one and experienced it all for the first time

"We see you have Final Fantasy VII: Remake in your Q. Unfortunately, due to manufacturing issues beyond our control, there has been a delay in receiving our copies. We know you were looking forward to playing this and as soon as we get our copies, we will make it available for rental. We apologize for the bad news, but wanted to let you know as soon as possible."

Finished up RE3 and honestly don't get all the backlash, while yeah, RE2 felt more polished...the RE3 campaign is better than the RE2 campaign, only difference in length is you can play almost an identical campaign with a different character for a superficial lengthening in part 2. Yeah, a lot of content not here, but is replaced with other content, where RE2 the content just wasn't there, even something similar than what should have been in part 2 was in part 3. Character interaction and development was much stronger. Nemesis still shits on Mr. X. Just do. not. get it.
