WWE Raw 2
I've always been curious to return to this game. So OK, the gameplay isn't great and pales in comparison to HCTP but the features were amazing. 64 CAW slots, the ability to import music and use it as entrance music, and best of all a proper season mode. It was one of those games I never really got caught up in since I had HCTP and No Mercy but with this Carona Virus I'm in a nostalgic mood and I'm keen to take advantage of all the customisation features.
The game actually had a lot of cool extras as well like selectable referees, two attires for every wrestler and unlike HCTP all 64 wrestlers were active members of the roster. So guys like Jamie Noble, Shannon Moore, Crash etc. who usually got cut made it onto the roster.
I'm going to mess around with the CAW system and see if I can make Jeff Hardy, Scott Hall, X-Pac, Team Angle, The Basham Brothers, La Resistance, Three Minute Warning, Mr. Perfect etc. and go for a Backlash 2002 - Wrestlemania XIX theme and just see how season mode pans out. It's meant to get pretty crazy, like what would happen if you let WoW book the territory and let them put all the championships on all the women.

If I remember right it wasn't bad but it was buggy in the days before console patches. So you will have stable mates attack you and rivals come to help you out. I believe it was the first games that had the move interrupt and the ai did it too much killing multi person matches.

Doom Eternal Let me say this first, I think this is a great game. The action is fast, the violence is over the top, satanic to the max, and the metal is everywhere. All things you would want in a Doom game. I should also mention that this is a real looker. Running smooth as butter, cranked up to max settings in 4K, it looks next gen like at times, id Tech 7 is something special. But...I just don't think it's as good as Doom 2016. It's like they almost tried to do much at times. They've added so many new features and mechanics, and while they are work fine by themselves and are smart ideas...they just don't gel sometimes. It goes a little too heavy at times with it's mix of platforming and puzzles IMO. The missions are all long, like really long. The difficuty is usually fine (it's a fairly hard game) but when the game doesn't seem to be working quite the way they probably intended and that's why it's hard? That's just frustrating. The humor isn't bad, but they definitely leaned just a little too much into it this time compared to the first. I guess I just wish it was more focused. More content isn't always better. Just finished it myself, and I somewhat echo your sentiment, I think the combat and all the core mechanics are better, but other things feel TOO ramped up. The platforming I didn't really mind until the second to last level, which is crazy tedious. But it felt at times like it was inflating the difficulty by just covering you in a mountain of bullshit, like certain fights reach the pinnacle of how awesome they can be...and just keep going. Multiple times during the game I uttered something along the lines of "Oh fuck you, that's too much." after reaching the sensible conclusion to a fight, just for it to throw some mammoth-esque bullshit for yet another wave. I think all of the core stuff was better than 2016, but 2016 felt like a more concise experience. Just one step back in certain areas, and this would have been perfect. Also, just fuuuuck the marauders...like, they aren't overly difficult one-on-one, but a total bitch while trying to clear out enough enemies to where you can actually fight them, because they take all your focus, and a crazy amount of damage (while being immune to your most powerful weapons). They're technically well designed, but just tedious as hell (no pun intended) to fight.

Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition. I beat the 360 version like a decade ago so my memory is a little fuzzy on the exact amount stuff in it. But playing the full version it feels like they cut out huge chunks of the game. I knew they had completely removed a character and shorten one character roll but the sheer amount they cut makes no sense. It isn't like she just appear at the very end of the game either. And at the time the complete version originally was only on PS3 and only in Japan.

The most obvious was the pirate ship where there's no boss fight and you receive Patty's hat as a key item.
Otherwise I was disappointed in the PS3 version when I imported it. I thought my experience would alter greatly, but a lot of the extra content felt tacked on and it really only amounted to two extra dungeons and a completely new playable character. Flynn becoming permanent was a nice bonus, but like Beatrix in FFIX wasn't pivotal to the story.
A lot of the changes were saved for the post-game which I never got around to playing. The only change I really liked was the ability to skip cutscenes which made repeat playthroughs a breeze.

Well if it not that many differences then it probably more my memory. Because some sections I didn't remember happening at all.

Started playing the Final Fantasy 7 remake last night, as we got it super early in Australia. I never played the original (I’m not a huge fan of turn based attack games), but I really loved Final Fantasy 15. Pretty excited to get into this one and experienced it all for the first time If you liked FF XV then the combat is very similar in FFVII. I am all for bringing new fans on board FF VII, it is one of the best games of all time and yet I kind of envy players like yourself who are getting experience it all for the first time. I would be really keen to hear your impressions of it as you go through. I like seeing it through fresh eyes, as it were.

Because I didn't remember getting the clear ciel crystal there/at all I didn't remember going to the Colosseum that early in the game and the events that happened there. Currently in the desert up ahead going for the secret mission on the boss. All this comes from being old since now Raven's age. And I could never forget how many old jokes they used about his age.

If you're over 25 you're ancient according to most JRPGs.
The first real changes take place back in Danghrest. They introduced a new area dedicated to cooking, that unwinnable fight against Don Whitehouse and the Underground Waterway dungeon. The Ghost Ship was slightly altered with the introduction of Patty and the boss fight at the end. The rest was all present in the original and you're a few hours away for your next couple of changes.

I really loved the game up until Chapter 14, to which the side quests became very repetitive - but as they aren’t necessary it doesn’t really hinder the story itself but if you choose not to do the side quests there isn’t much to Chapter 14. Chapter 15 and 16 were great. Then you hit Chapter 17 which was just sub boss fights nonstop through the whole chapter, these enemies didn’t add anything to the story so it honestly just made me lose interest in it completely so by the time I came to the end of the game I was glad it finished. I enjoyed the Midgar backstory, but the end of the game was disappointing. I’m hoping the sequel doesn’t take too long to come out, as I think that will jump better into the story rather then senseless fights. Otherwise i enjoyed it for what it was, but definitely in no rush to replay it. I enjoyed FFXV way more

So I picked up Doom Eternal for PS4. It's an enjoyable game that hits me hard with nostalgia.
I'm old enough that I played the original doom when it first came out on PC. I ever remember the game that inspired it, Wolfenstein.
The game is very hard on average difficulty settings, which I don't mind. The online part I tried only once and I don't think I will ever play it due to the steep learning curve.

I recently played through Detroit: Become Human. Very cool game. I also played the Resident Evil 3 remake. Very fun, but disappointed I paid full price for a 5 hour game with no replayability, unless I want to try Hardcore mode. But at least the RE2 remake had the two playthroughs with Leon and Claire. This one just rushed you through the story.

I've decided to have another run through of the Uncharted series, already completed 1 and 2 and on to 3 at the moment. I still believe 2 is the best of the lot, however the others aren't too shabby either. It helps that the voice acting is absolutely superb, for me it's some of the best out there.
The main reason I wanted another run at them is that I picked up Lost Legacy on the PS Store, haven't played that yet so thought I'd run through the others first as it's been a while.
I was also playing Kingdom Hearts for a while, I got as far as the Ursula boss fight then kind of stopped because she kept kicking my ass so bad. I literally couldn't get anywhere near beating her.

I know I have only myself to blame but I was playing WWE 2K20 earlier. During an online match I was still heavy in the green and the opponent was in the red. So the end was near. He grabs a chair from under ring so I assume he was trying to get himself DQed. I try to grab the chair from his hands which I do and I get DQed. I didn't swing the chair at all or do any damage to him with the chair.

Back to Shadow of TR and I'm just slogging through it. Dunno but I liked the first two and I'm only doing this one to complete it. Not really enjoying it. Once beaten I'll tackle either Darksiders 3 or Just Cause 4, though I think I read bad things about that one. Enjoyed the previous game so I rented it.

Shadow was definitely the weakest, and a downer as a trilogy capper. They introduced some great new mechanics, but then there is, or feels like, less combat encounters to utilize them. Weakest villain, weakest climax, weakest story...just not up to par with the first 2 games.
I enjoy Darksiders 3, though again, weakest of the trilogy (better than Genesis), first and foremoest, master the perfect dodge...really central to the tougher enemies.

It's not a bad game, just the weakest of the Tomb Raider reboot games. It's fun, just lackluster.

WWE 2K19 (2018; Yukes)
I've officially turned this game into an RPG where I'm assuming the role of Brock Lesnar trying to earn as much money as I can without having to work more than one minute at a time. At first I was only getting paid $115 a match, but after some negotiating I was able to bump it up to $206. I negotiated with Vince and he was happy to pay me that amount if I did this to Local Yokel, the worst wrestler of all-time.
Overhead Suplex - Side Suplex - Three German Suplexes - F5 straight into a pin
I negotiated with Vince to let me do one German which cut down time significantly.
I could do all that and without making an entrance and work roughly 40 second matches.
Then I found out something else.
Vince is a massive homer for strikes. So I started doing this
Clothesline - Penalty Kick - Two Stomps - Two Kicks To The Side - One Overhead Punch - German Suplex - F5
And he bumped it up to $230.
After 1060 squashes, I was finally able to buy the rest of the Hall of Famers from the menu.
10+ hours of grinding, all because I refuse to pay the nickel and diming the game has to offer. Of course I could have paid $8 and saved myself all that free time, but it was the principal of the matter. Unlocking wrestlers was one of my favourite parts of these wrestling games and 2K ruined that with their money grubbing tendancies.
And still 1060 Brock squash matches. Can you believe it? How many Brock careers is that? 3? 5? 10? I don't think I'll ever have to watch another Brock Lesnar match again.
Happy Brocktober all.

I started buying deluxe editions that year because all the dlc stuff you need if you plan on using community creations a lot. It was also needed when I wanted to help with a sim e-league I am associated with to make things easier. I think they purposely lower how much money you get for matches in 2K18 or 2K19 to make the accelerator more in demand. But grinding that much with one person sounds insane. The only time I grinding that much was in Rumble Roses XX and it was with different characters. Double entendre not intended

So far Shadow of the Tomb Raider is pretty good. But it did make me think of something I wish they would stop in gaming. If I am playing as current character I don't want to flashback and play that character as a kid. I know it is done to try to build back story. But nothing makes me turn off a game and think I will do this later then seeing something major happen then I am back in the past as a kid.
I am ok though if the game starts you as a kid with that being your training to the game then you grow up.

Playing a mobile baseball game on my phone, and only with this tournament do I realize how much better of a hitter I am than most. Currently sitting in 1st, 2nd place has a +10 point differential...I have +103. Only problem is all it take is one loss to knock me out of 1st, point differential is only a tie breaker, one bad game is all it takes.
Edit: And just like that, one bad game’d like a motherfucker. The way this game works, is you get out walls and hit walls, each character card has a chance at certain bases. Somehow, this motherfucker got lucky enough for all his HR walls to spawn every time. 11/12 runs were home runs, never see nothing but homer in walls like that, literally the first time I’ve seen anything close to it in the months I’ve been playing. Just statistically such an unlikely thing to happen. Ended my 20 game set at 19-1 with 10 times the points than anyone else, just that one game was fucked.
