I don’t like Harry. I’d even take Metcalfs upside over him.
It’s New England though so he will obviously work out great.

Well this has probably been the most exciting draft night I'll ever have as a fan. Only 5 months to wait now! Ereck Flowers draft being a close second right? I’m going to sleep on the Gary pick and be more composed tomorrow. I’m coming around a little bit.

I think most considered him raw with some technique problems but a tough guy with potential - but that obviously never panned out. I guess in some ways that is similar to Gary who everyone seems to say looks like he should be a much better player than he actually performs.

Happy to see Pitt actually make a move to draft a need, usually just take what they get. And since they get 2 3rd round picks next year (since Bell left), moved up 10 spots for essentially a 2nd round pick. Hopefully he and Baron can bring dominance back to the Pitt middle, like the Farrior/Foote-Timmons/Shazier days. Already got a solid D-Line, now hopefully get some solid support in the secondary, and that defense may just be sitting pretty.

If there is one thing a left tackle absolutely cannot have it's bad footwork. And Flowers' draft tape SCREAMED bad footwork.

Why the fuck are we gambling on a tackle? Just pick the best fucking tackle. Philly really fucked us though, didn't see that coming.

I fell asleep after the Giants made their 17th pick. I wake up to find they traded up to get a corner. Cool, I guess. I’m not happy with the Giants first round though. Just really bummed about the QB pick. We’ll see, though. Maybe I am proven wrong by these guys. If not, it’s going to be a long ass few years. At least they got Barkley.
The Patriots took a WR that I don’t know about and am sure he will end up being the best somehow. Hollywood to Baltimore to keep making Pitts life hell? Cute.

After sleeping on it a bit I'm going to be less annoyed by the Gary pick , really the Packers were in a tough position with both linebackers and Jonah Williams all being off the board there (the Steelers trade up screwed us) and they took a high potential player. I don't have concerns but the kid is talented and I love that he plays every snap at 100% and is versatile. You can't teach his traits. The concerns are his shoulder , especially considering that we are nonstop dealing with Kevin King's shoulder issues that have kept him out for most of the last two seasons. Either way I'll obviously be rooting for him and hope that my initial reaction was wrong.
Still love the Savage pick and already looked into ordering a jersey , but have to wait until he gets his number. Also love his versatility and what he should bring to the entire defense. I'm picture a more explosive and athletic Micah Hyde - a player we sorely missed since he went to Buffalo.
The rest of the draft was pretty good , not a ton of bad picks but I hate what the Giants did. The Daniel Jones pick is being piled on and I don't think he's going to be good but the Giants do and if he can be the quarterback they expect him to be than there is no such thing as a reach. I hated their second pick , the more I thought about it and their entire offseason the less it made sense. I think their second pick might have actually been the worst of the 1st round for me , in a bubble. Then again even that criticism is stupid because if you swap their 17 and 30 picks I probably wouldn't be as hard on them.

33. Arizona Cardinals - Juwaan Taylor , OT , Florida - Some had him as the best tackle in the draft and the Cardinals would love landing him hear to protect their new signal caller of the future.
34. Indianapolis Colts - DK Metcalf , WR , Ole Miss - The Colts have multiple second round picks so they can afford to take chances. Metcalf is boom or bust but could have a great career with Luck in Indy.
35. Oakland Raiders - Drew Lock , QB , Missouri - I still don't know the Raiders are in love with Carr and Lock at least has potential and could have been a first round pick. Sitting behind Carr will do him good to start his career.
36. San Francisco 49ers - Greedy Williams , CB , LSU - The 49ers had the worst pass defense in the NFL last year and now they get the best man corner in the draft to pair with their pass rushing in the first round.
37. Seattle Seahawks - Irv Smith Jr. , TE , Alabama - Smith Jr. comes from a dominate run offense in college and would fit well with Seattle while also giving Wilson another pass catcher who can play on every down.
38. Jacksonville Jaguars - Cody Ford , OT , Oklahoma - The Jags were surprised to see Josh Allen fall in their laps in round one but had to pass on a tackle. Ford is great value here and will fit well on their offense.
39. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Julian Love , CB , Notre Dame - After stealing Devin White from the Packers in round one , the Bucs continue to build their defense with one of the many top corners to fall in the draft.
40. Buffalo Bills - Erik McCoy , OL , Texas A&M - The Bills got some good value at a need in round one , but they need to build their offensive line if they have a chance of competing.
41. Denver Broncos - Byron Murphy , CB , Washington - The Broncos need to replenish their defense and Chris Harris is also wanting a new deal or to be traded. Murphy is incredible value here.
42. Cincinnati Bengals - Jachai Polite , Edge , Florida - After fortifying their offensive line in the first round , the Bengals spend some much needed capital on the other side of the ball in the second.
43. Detroit Lions - Chase Winowich , Edge , Michigan - A total Patriots type player that Patricia is happy to add to his front seven in Detroit to pair with Flowers.
44. Green Bay Packers - AJ Brown , WR , Ole Miss - After passing on offensive playmakers in the first round the Packers get a versatile pass catcher in the second who could contribute in the slot right away. Also wouldn't hate trading down or Risner here.
45. Los Angeles Rams - Trayvon Mullen , CB , Clemson - The Rams have a pretty loaded roster and now get to add depth to their secondary.
46. Indianapolis Colts - Justin Layne , CB , Michigan St. - The Colts defense made huge leaps last year but they still need help at corner and Layne could be a day one starter.
47. Carolina Panthers - Rock Ya-Sin , CB , Temple - A run on corners in the second is expected and Ya-Sin was projected by many to be a first round pick.
48. Miami Dolphins - Jaylon Ferguson , Edge , Virginia Tech - The Dolphins are passing on quarterbacks and offense this year while building the defense up for Flores. Ferguson is a great pick to come off the edge for them.
49. Cleveland Browns - Juan Thornhill , DB , Virginia Tech - The Browns actually don't have a ton of holes to fill , but Thornhill is a versatile defender who could help all over their secondary.
50. Minnesota Vikings - Greg Little , OT , Ole Miss - The Vikings should spend every pick in this draft on the offensive line hoping to find 3 or 4 starters.
51. Tennessee Titans - Parris Campbbell , WR , Ohio State - After spending their first round pick on someone who probably won't play in 2019 - the Titans find immediate help for Mariota and someone to take the top off the defenses who play 8 in the box.
52. Denver Broncos - Ryan Finley , QB , NC State - The Broncos use the pick they acquired from the Steelers to maybe find their QB of the future.
53. Philadelphia Eagles - Nassir Adderly , S , Delaware- Perfect place for him to come in and learn the positon and the Eagles need help in their secondary.
54. Houston Texans - Dalton Risner , OL , Kansas State - See the Vikings. Houston needs possibly three starters on the offensive line and Risner is as versatile as they come.
55. Houston Texans - Chauncey Gardner-Johnson , DB , Florida - The Texans almost benefitted greatly from the OT's dropping last night and do benefit tonight with the plethora of quality defensive backs in the second round.
56. New England Patriots - Dawson Knox , TE , Ole Miss - Gronk is gone , the Patriots continue to add playmakers around their 70 year old quarterback.
57. Philadelphia Eagles - Joejuan Williams , CB , Vanderbilt - Two straight picks spent where the value is in this round and the Eagles rebuild their secondary.
58. Dallas Cowboys - David Montgomery , RB , Iowa State - The Cowboys need to add a quality backup for Zeke and Montgomery is as solid as they come.
59. Los Angeles Chargers - Will Grier , QB , West Virginia - The Chargers need to plan some for the future. I could actually see this being the pick in the Rosen trade but as it stands - Grier is the pick.
60. Indianapolis Colts - Darrell Henderson , RB , Memphis - Mack had a good year and showed flashes but he gets banged up a lot of the Colts could use some depth at running back.
61. Kansas City Chiefs - JJ Arcea Whiteside , WR , Stanford - With Tyreek Hill probably out of Kansas City , they need to replenish the playmakers for Mahomes. Whiteside isn't the same type of player but he is ready to contribute.
62. New Orleans Saints - Zach Allen , DL , Boston College - A high motor guy that will fit in nicely as a rotation guy in their front seven.
63. Kansas City Chiefs - Lonnie Johnson Jr. , CB , Kentucky - They are trying to rebuild their pass rush with Frank Clark but also need some solid secondary pieces to compliment that pass rush. I love LJJ as a player.
64. New England Patriots - Khalen Saunders , DT , Northern Illinois - One of the best sleepers in the draft and someone who can come in and be the new Vince Wilford of Belicheks front seven.

Rock Ya'Sin has the coolest name since Ha Ha Clinton Dix.
Name sake alone, I think this dudes going to be a beast. It's fun to say "Aqib Talib", imagine the fun if this guy turns out to be a stud.
Also, a lot of big names going in round 2. Might be the best 2nd round in forever.

Zach Allen to the Saints would be a nice fit as he’d provide needed depth behind Davenport and Jordan.
The guy I’m looking for the Saints though is Elgton Jenkins C from Miss State. He’d be an instant plug and play guy replacing Max Unger and provides versatility to move to the guard position if needed.
Greedy Williams will be a steal for whoever drafts him. I watched him for his entire college career and while there is some concern for lack of effort at times and poor tackling, he is great in man coverage and has great ball skills when playing at his best. Has tons of potential to be a next great lockdown corner in the NFL.

The thing with Greedy though is that he doesn't like to tackle or get physical , and in today's NFL where there are so many underneath plays/bubble screens and running backs like McCaffery - you have to be willing to lower your shoulder and tackle someone. I think it'll be interesting where he goes but I promise you that's why a team like the Pats didn't take him in the first round and why even though it made sense in mocks - he never really fit with Pittsburgh. I could see the Browns going after him though.

Miami about to swing a deal for Rosen for pick 48.
Fuck Josh Rosen last year for calling Sam Darnold a mistake and fuck him even more for repping the Dolphin colors. Hope he gets crushed in Miami. Three of the vaunted QBs of the 2018 draft reside in the AFC, now none in the NFC. Unless you count Mullens.

Good trade for the Dolphins , I still think had Rosen gone in this draft he would have been a top ten pick and now they are only spending a 2nd round pick on a guy who's already gotten most of his money. Really low risk and high reward for a talented quarterback. Hopefully Miami can put the pieces around him to allow him some success.

No one cared about it from Deion Sanders and Sanders played in a MUCH more physical era.

Yeah that's why he , who is considered by most to be the best man to man corner in the draft isn't dropping. Especially past a team like New England who covets the shutdown type corner and is missing one at the moment - because they value tackling.
We all know the NFL used to be more physical , and that Deion couldn't tackle but he was already surrounding by a lot bigger players and played in far less sub packages where he wasn't asked to tackle as much. In today NFL where defenses are running subpackages and nickle 70%+ of the time corners are being asked to tackle more , especially on the screens. They don't have the luxury of playing the majority of the snaps with three linebackers and for hogs up front and two down safeties - you HAVE to be able to tackle today.

Also it's funny how Gettleman said he drafted Jones because of what he seen in the Senior Bowl , where Jones was the MVP.
Just for the record , two of the last Senior Bowl MVP's - Kyle Lauletta and Davis Webb. I don't know what the Giants obsession with the Senior Bowl is.

300th time I told this story, but I went to Eli Mannings first career start against the Falcons. Watching Vick play live was a dream come true. ANYWAYS, we booed Eli pretty heavily in his opening game. We chanted, "WE WANT WARNER" because he wasn't doing shit. Then he won 2 championships for us.
I was also disgustingly blown away by the Knicks drafting Porzingis and he was super exciting for his short, healthy period.
So it might be too soon to shit on this pick, but I just don't like it.
