Already sent my heel turn list in rather than overthinking it. I mostly went with the RT approach of personal favorites rather than historically significant turns. I had most of the famous heel turns that I expect to make the Top 10 in the 11-20 range. Spoiler Alert: I did consider another option before settling on the most famous heel turn of them all at #1. My list includes from 6 from WWF and 4 from NWA/WCW. All of them took place between 1987-1997 with 1994 being the GOAT year for heel turns with 3. Bret Hart was also involved in 3 heel turns on my list. UT I think it's only fair that we do Face Turns after Heel Turns.

UT I think it's only fair that we do Face Turns after Heel Turns. 100% this. Third My heel turn list is pretty standard stuff though one from the 2000's did sneak in the 10 spot. After harping on Barry Windham being overlooked his 1988 heel turn was my last cut.

After harping on Barry Windham being overlooked his 1988 heel turn was my last cut. BOO! Hopefully I made up for it by having Windham's 1988 heel turn very high on my list. I was thinking about face turns after my post last night. Unless I'm forgetting a lot of stuff there aren't nearly as many great face turns as there are heel turns.

Two 2000s heel turns made my list.
I tried to consider impact on business; shock based on how much of a beloved face the wrestler was, and/or how long the wrestler had been a face; whether the turn was consequential (did it lead to a title win, a breakup or formation of a faction or stable, etc. and how long was the subsequent heel run?) i.e., Big Show's are all out; how well the turn moment itself was executed; and how much personal enjoyment I derived as a result of the turn.

It was tough but I thought I should get at least some content from this millennium on one of my lists. For face turns most that come to mind are the real landmark ones that changed the course of careers rather than being shocking.

I hear you all want to do Face Turn after Heel Turns. I'm open to it , but was also hoping to do something Wrestlemania rated seeing at it is that time of year. Matches , entrances , moments , debuts , shows .... whatever we decide. Unless we're deadset on face turns right now - we can do that.

Go with the consensus and do face turns, then Wrestlemania [insert here]. If it ends up being posted after the big day it’ll still be fresh in everyone’s minds so I wouldn’t worry too much.
How about we keep it simple and just do “top ten Wrestlemanias?”

How about we keep it simple and just do “top ten Wrestlemanias?” I could be down for something relatively simple and straightforward like this. Would be curious to see how my personal list shakes out with PW's tastes and the overall broader consensus.

Okay so our next list will be face turns. After that a Wrestlemania list. I like the idea of Best non title WM matches. Straightforward could be good too. We'll put some options up on a poll.

No problem, that's why most of mine were geared toward how they impacted a wrestler's career. I really wanted to include Hogan's initial AWA turn but I just couldn't pinpoint it as it was just gradual. There aren't too many shocking ones.

Little difficult with the face turns for me.
I'm struggling with Austins. Do we consider his KOTR the face turn , or the WM13 match with Hart? I've always considered the WM13 match the official face turn.

I think both contributed to his overall face turn and should count as one.

I agree with 🤯. Austin was still booked as a heel up until WM 13. At most he was a tweener for those 9 months. Definitely not a babyface though. I too am not having an easy time with face turns. Most likely my 1-5 will be personal favorites and I'll go the famous/historically significant route for 6-10.

A lot of people were still a bit offended with his 3:16 promo and were more shocked than anything. WM13 was where the fans fully embraced his character.

In a total wrestling mood today for obvious reasons so I did some research and WWE Network surfing and got my face turns in.
A few I want to encourage people to consider that I didn't think of initially.
Trish Stratus in 2001(?) - Awesome ass turn that led to IMO the greatest womens wrestler in company history. Batista on Evolution - An actual great story by the WWE at the time and huge markout moment. The Shield - Duh.

Just sent my Face Turns list in. Here are a few late cuts that some people may find helpful....
-Virgil turns on Dibiase- 1991 -Stevie turns on Raven- 1997 (Really wanted to include this but I've never seen THE face turn moment. It was more of a slow burn thing.) -Lex Luger turns on the Horsemen- Late 87 or Early 88
*And to make things easier for myself I decided to exclude stuff I didn't live through like....
-Sgt. Slaughter goes good guy on the Iron Sheik- 1984 -Ted Dibiase turns face in a legendary angle w/ Murdoch & Flair- Mid South 1985 -Nikita Koloff respects Magnum TA. Becomes a fan favorite- 1986

I completely whiffed on the DDP turn, whoops. At least I didn't list 50 and forget Bob Backlund's mystery partner against the Samoans in 1983 though.
DiBiase's face turn was great too, I still don't think it would have made it however. Cactus's and Dreamer's turns in 1993 are good shouts too.
