I say we get through the Wrestlemanias now since WM just happened. Triple threats are cool, but I really am tired of hearing about Benoit/HHH/HBK as the GOAT.

I'm down to submit for triple threats. It's been a while since I've seen a list discussed, so it'll be interesting to see if anything trumps what was the top picks last time I paid attention (WM20, Vengeance and Unbreakable).
And I'm thinking the Rumble match between Seth, Cena and Brock is likely a good contender.

Gonna finish up my Wrestlemania list in a bit. Controversial Opinion(?)- Wrestlemania didn't become consistently good until the 2000s. Right now I have 1 from the 80s, only 1 from the 90s, and 5 from the 2000s as locks. I don't think that is a controversial opinion particularly. The early WrestleManias were at most 3 match shows. They filled them out with relatively meaningless matches that allowed you to see all the names, but did not often include the great feuds and matches that were on-going as house shows were still the name of the game in terms of generating money, so they wanted to protect those attractions. This is what makes the early Mania so fun to rebook. As they could've been so much better and it isn't like you need to go into pure fantasy land to make it so. The New Generation had the issues of not quite having the roster depth and misuse of talent to deliver truly great mega-shows. Up to Mania X-Seven, I'd say the only ones that are good watches the whole way through are III and XIV. Neither are full of great matches, but everything seems to be about the right length, there is nice variety, there always feels like a hook and not just matches thrown in for the sake of it. And I imagine those are the Manias going in for you from the 80s and 90s respectively. It is hard to deny Mania X as well, simply for Bret/Owen and HBK/Razor and the finish to the night. VII is perhaps surprisingly good actually, but unfortunately it has needless filler. I think I'll try to throw together a quick list and put them in an order that feels right.

For ranking these, I seemed to put more stock in how the show finished than I assumed I would. A show like 21 that had a great opening half and then really petered out, despite putting over the two new stars, was not making it here. And 23 did not make it partly because the Cena/HBK main, while a good match, did not have a true big match feel, as it was clear HBK was just a stand-in for the injured HHH and was not winning. Put it in the middle of the show and have Taker/Batista close the show and it would have a better shot.

I hope folks aren't underrating how entertaining the first WrestleMania was. Even if not discounting its flaws that come with being the very first, it's pretty entertaining from start to finish.
