So today marks two years since the Nintendo Switch first launched, and I gotta say buying the system is hands down one of the best things I’ve ever done (even if I picked mine up last year). Especially since I feel like buying the Switch, has really rejuvenated my love for gaming, granted I’ve always viewed myself more as a casual than a hardcore gamer, but still I was losing interest.
Anyways, I figured we could use this thread to discuss the wonderful system, as a way to celebrate its success over these past two years.
Do you have a pretty big collection of Switch games, or is it on the smaller side? How about your favorite games for the system? How about games you thought were disappointing? What games are you looking forward to, that have been announced but not released yet?
As for me, I think my collection is probably in the middle, as I don't think it's that small, but considering all the e-shop games, I don't really think it's that big either, at twenty four games and counting. As for current favorite games, while I think both Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey are wonderful games, three of my top five are Wii U ports in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and of course New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (which is fine, as I didn't own a Wii U), and the other two being Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu (excited AF for Gen 8), and of course Smash Bros. Ultimate which is a go to game for when friends are over.
Moving on, I thought Super Mario Party was kinda disappointing, while it's not a bad game per say, I was disappointed by the lack of game boards to choose from, and felt after a while it got kinda repetitive playing on the same boards, if that makes anyways sense. Looking towards the future, there are quite a few games I plan on buying, the before mentioned eighth generation of Pokemon, Yoshi's Cratfed World (which is coming out later this month), Luigi's Mansion 3, and of course the recently announced Super Mario Maker 2.
