A while ago a female friend of mine told me that her ex was addicted to porn and she was against porn.  She had some good points overall and pointed out it is exploitative as most women kinda don't aspire to be in porn but end up there.  True, that could be said but most of our jobs, but not all of us are getting nutted over.

So, it kind of tuned me in.  I travel in some strange corners of the internet and I am finding more and more of anti porn and no fap stuff online.  People not in the mainstream speaking out against porn and saying it is unnatural and harmful to regular sex urges.  Not the conservative religious types or puritans but bros speaking out that they gave up on it.  Not looking at porn any more but will still look at hot chics on Instagram.  

This isn't exclusive to the random bowels of random forums online.  I saw a jubilee video recently asking people questions about how they felt about porn.  And people weren't all about making it mainstream.  It seems there is a rebellion against it.  And I guess if you are against sex trafficking you should be against porn right? 

I read a lot of books on evolutionary biology and such and they point out to how porn is only about the high and how it serves no real evolutionary advantage to fap to porn. In fact, it is counter productive evolutionary wise.  Which brings me to fapping.  In forums I see now people challenging other to not fap for a month.  Some are pointing out health benefits, restored libido etc to not fapping.

It really seems like there is a renaissance and resistance to the acceptance of porn and masturbation.  Maybe an over-saturation causing a rebellion?  We have access to see more women than all of our ancestors combined.  In dating apps it is easier to make passive moves on women than ever before.  Have you been desensitized to real life due to your porn consumption online?  Have you given up on online porn?  Taken a break without being a puritan?  Stopped fapping for fitness and health benefits?

I feel like there's a pretty big gap between sex trafficking and porn. Like, a really really really big gap.

But as for whether porn is unnatural and harmful? I guess I can see it, but when it's overdone. A glass of wine every so often isn't harmful but a couple of bottles a night certainly is. Porn can certainly reinforce unrealistic body images (I say, completely unironically, on a pro 'rasslin board) and I don't know that it can replace intimacy but I guess that depends on the person.

Nofap sounds like it could be a good stress test like (again, referring to the booze analogy) not drinking alcohol for a month. It's a challenge to see if you are in control of your vices or if they are in control of you.

The No Fap movement is very deceptive. For those who are not familiar with the ecosystem of reddit may think the primary purpose of this is to stop an addictive behavior, but it is not. Before the ban, the greatest crossover between NoFap and other subreddits was with Incels. There still is a huge The Red Pill crossover.

What it boils down to for the NoFap movement is Chads do not need to fap because they get mad pussy. Also girls want Chads, and not Incels. Therefore, Incels need to be more like Chads and not beating their dicks and start fucking girls. Many believe girls can tell who faps all the time and who does not and are attracted to the guys who do not fap. The forums are filled with guys who talk about getting laid after no fapping.

Oh man, you need to visit reddit.  It is basically a forum where anyone can create subforums they then mod.  Amazing to look at generally closed doors subcultures and if you get into meta-reddit an insane look how people deal act when they control a community.  Ranges from anything goes to dictatorships that censor all non-opposing believes to straight out crazy subreddits that preemptively ban based on prior posting in other subreddits.  I am hooked on the social dynamics.  Pity you did not get to experience the pre-cleanup reddit as people used to be allowed to openly discuss hate topics that allowed windows into subcultures that generally are private.  Still a lot of interesting groups to read for strange beliefs.


But yeah, the beliefs started in the abstinence only education world and christian anti-homosexuality camps, then treated pornography addiction like homosexuality.  Some of the people believe this was to their benefit and shared on reddit and the beliefs fused with the incel world and turned into the craziness you get today. 


Also the negative effects of porn are mostly bullshit.  The same people who claim video games are the greatest cause of violence in the US are the same people who did those porn studies.  The research is horribly flawed, the research was paid for by family values groups and while not super public, some of it was found to be fabricated.

In all fairness, the woman CAN be into being dominated as well (same as men), which would make it perfectly consensual. Any depraved act can be consensual (unless it inherently needs the lack of consent) if you find equal opposites.

I just find Reddit to be like searching in a sea of infinity. Like you can go anywhere and at the same time there is no direction to go anywhere. It's an interesting problem right now with the expanse of the internet and infinite choice.
