The fact they didn’t know they were still on the air made them look like amateurs. Then it led to Omega looking like a giant tool. Even if he was just in front of a live crowd that was the dumbest shit ever. “We raised 150k for shooting victims! BOING!” And KJ is right. I talked about the constant self fellatio after All In and said it needed to stop there. They’ve done it after every show and there’s no signs of it stopping. It sucks. Have you ever been to an indy show? Literally every non wwe show I've been to ends with someone in the ring thanking the crowd for coming etc. Yeah sure it's a little surprising at this stage, but I dknt think it's that weird. I’ve been to a few and none of them ended with someone thanking the crowd. Two of them ended with a title change and one ended with a guy in a hood showing up and beating up a bunch of people. It’s not weird, it’s just bad.

But agreed, the constant patting on the backs and high-fives all round need to stop. You're good now, but what happens when you burn through the obvious Omega/Jericho/Mox main events by Christmas and the new car smell fades away?

It's going to be interesting to see how the relationship between AEW and it's fans evolve over time. Their brand is very similar to a lot of YouTube celebrities where they have a more intimate relationship with their audience and treat them more like co-conspirators than as customers. It's clearly worked for them and even before All In, the Elite were setting attendance records and selling unbelievable merch numbers. However, with a wider audience it'll be interesting to see what gives if anything. I don't think they'll be able to grow their audience if they continue to pander to their geek audience, but by the same token, they'll have to present some kind of alternative to the WWE and find a hook.
There's plenty of red flags here and while I'm sure the initial shows will be strong, I'm here for the shows in December. If they don't continue to build, it's over.

I hate to say it, but they need some marquee names to really compete with the WWE. Marquee names, are something they don't have that.
Despite what Jericho thinks ( kayfabe or not ) about himself. The Elite may have that big original fanbase, but they aren't cross over talents. In fact, The Buck's ironically-ironic stitch may be lost on the uninitiated.
And as good as Omega is in the ring, he just isn't a house-hold name. While Mox was never a made man in WWE, with the company, or the fans.
But who says they need to play the WWE game? That entire separate market NJPW was gunning for in the US, and ROH thought they had, might be the best place for them. Do that. But whatever they do, it needs to be interesting, and can't just rest on their in-ring talent. And I just don't accept 'he's a good wrestler' anymore. You're either interesting or you're not. Regardless of your athletic prowess.

Yeah I saw Gargano's thing and watched about two minutes before I turned it off. I didn't like that either. I'm not saying never do it, I'm just saying there's a time and place. Actually I might even say "never do it on air." It's cool for the fans in attendance but it looks tacky on TV/stream. #ItsStillRealToMeDammit It's going to be interesting to see how the relationship between AEW and it's fans evolve over time. Regardless of your athletic prowess. Yep, I'm with both of you on this one. I'm very interested to see where they're at come December/January and beyond. What nath said about the smaller market in the US, I think that's a big reason why NJPW is so pissed off at these guys. Obviously 4 of their biggest talents walking out the door to start their own promotion is a kick in the balls, but to also do it knowing you're going to be competing within the same demographic...oof. The Japanese don't take kindly to that kind of stuff.
