The Clowney trade is hotting up. So far being reported as interested are the Eagles, Seahawks, Jets, Dolphins, and Redskins. Some very interesting options, not all of them make a lot of sense if I'm honest.

Redskins would be insane to trade for Clowney, right? They're in rebuild mode, they can't be swapping draft capital for a Clowney on a huge contract. Makes more sense if they're willing to ship Trent Williams (who, according to top league sources, is not playing against for the Redskins) so that's one to keep an eye on. Ugly landing spot for Clowney though.

Seahawks and Eagles I get. Seahawks need difference makers on defense. Eagles are win-now, arguably the best roster in the NFL. Jets and Dolphins, I don't really get. But according to sources the Dolphins are the favourites. Current understanding is that Texans are loading up their side of the the trade - Clowney plus a first (plus extra?) - but want Laremy Tunsil to come the other way. I can't work out which team is more crazy in this. The Texans for managing to lose draft picks in trading their superstar linebacker, or the Dolphins, who are going to trade the highest-rated young LT prospect in the league while in rebuild mode. Surely, there's no way this happens, right?

What do you guys think will happen?

I think Eagles get him, to be honest.

The Eagles make the most sense , they have the RB depth and some OL depth they could part with. Howard and their swing tackle plus a conditional pick - get it done.

Dolphins make no fucking sense , I don’t get those talks at all.

I'm very unhappy about how all of this has been handled and I'm not a big fan of who's in charge of making roster moves for the Texans right now, be it O'Brien or Cal Mcnair or whatever is going on right now I don't like it.

Yeah it's been awful from a Texans viewpoint. We're now trading him when his value is at its lowest. I would have signed him, but let's be honest. Everyone has known for months that Clowney wanted Mack money. If they didn't want to pay him they should have shopped him when he had value. Now we're pairing him with draft picks in a drastic attempt to stop what happened to Andrew Luck happen to Deshaun Watson.

I like UT idea better to be honest. Get Jordan Howard and a pair of picks or something and try and build like that. They’re in the RB market and I can see them snatching Elijah McGuire, Carlos Hyde (assuming he doesn’t make the roster) or even Jay Ajayi. 

I love the idea of bringing Duane Brown back but that's not a good deal for us at all at this stage of Duane's career, we should get something else like some draft picks or something.

No real explanation here especially since they desperately need help on the O-Line.

God awful for Texans, you would get a third round comp pick back if you let him leave in FA so you give up him in an always hungry pass rusher market and you end up giving up one year of contract year play for a bust in Mingo and a 6th round last year that might be a decent rotation player.

What a move by Schneider, happy Clowney isn't going to MIA. They replaced FRANK Clark who has a suspect background and got more For him and replace him with Clowney.

I know. Baltimore cut him yesterday. Was probably in trade talks with Houston yesterday before the bottom fell out.

He also dropped because of a failed drug test. He and Mingo are the same player - one was apparently a key piece in the Clowney trade.
