Good call with Jericho.
Holy bald spot, Batman. Hitting Shawn Michaels-levels, there, Chris.
Love the fact you could loudly hear the producer counting down to back at the end.

I think Jericho should face Cody at the Nov. PPV. Jericho should retain of course.

Chris Jericho is my all-time favourite wrestler, they needed a recognizable name as their first champion, going into the weekly shows and Jericho is that guy. I want AEW to succeed, hell I need them to succeed... have all their shows been perfect? No, of course not, but for the first time in a long time, I am actually genuinely excited for pro wrestling.

I think Jericho should face Cody at the Nov. PPV. Jericho should retain of course. Realistically it should be Cody. He’s beat the other two solo Elite guys in back to back PPVs. Cody is the logical next choice. And he’ll lose when MJF turns on him.

Love the fact you could loudly hear the producer counting down to back at the end. How many people watching at home immediately thought Cult of Personalty was going to hit after the countdown? Pretty darn good show. They still have some things production wise to work out before they hit TV, but I hope TNT has some pointers and the producers they plan to work with iron that shit out. I like the main event, I liked Cody/Spears even though my expectations were higher, loved the ladder match, loved Orange Cassidy showing up with the lights off, liked Omega/PAC (really cool surprise ending), more than half the matches were good....this was fun. On to weekly shows. Let’s go. Oh, and one last thing: THANK YOU, JERICHO. #GOAT

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Sure not every match was a clasic or was exactly in my wheelhouse, but there was nothing bad. ANd there was absolutely nothing that made me groan. From top to bottom the whole show was intense, felt like it mattered, and was wrestling centric. I'm All In.

Didn’t care for this show, too much hokey stuff & I just don’t care for the Indy flip style of wrestling.
No big surprises either, it’s like TNA already.

It's pretty good. Much better than Raw and SmackDown, not nearly as good as NXT. But there's a lot of crap to cut (the Dark Order gimmick for example) and if they cut it they can be as good as NXT. They've got the talent.

Yeah I loved that spot too. Just a boot to the face.
I hope he and Spears continue their feud onto TV. Reflecting on the match they complimented one another really well. I’m liking Spears as a heel too.

I thought Takeover: Cardiff was significantly better, and I don't even follow NXT UK to know the stories there. They really need someone in who can sharpen the presentation, cut the crap, and book a show that flows and makes sense better. The Women's Division is shockingly bad, especially considering the song and dance they made about women being treated equally.

Cardiff was an example for everyone out there. For a brand I don’t watch, the UK show was a damn good show. I didn’t need a lot to enjoy it, the wrestling sold it. AEW May feel confident, but I’m feeling NXT is coming out on a nuclear scale on Wednesdays. NXT has established, seasoned talent from all nooks and crannies of the WWE roster to call on.. AEW has 8 guys worth a look in. AEW could be made or broken based on how the handle their mid card talent ( most of which are unrecognisable to casual fans )

Vince will 100% shift big names like AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan to NXT to win if he has to. AEW is going to need to have compelling TV, because “good wrestling” is always a YouTube search away at any point and time.

This was kind of what I was saying about Cody and Spears being “exposed” on weekly TV. I wasn’t saying they were bad, I was saying that Cody especially has relied heavily on grandeur and surprises and whatnot to get his matches over. He’s booked himself well at these 3 major shows, but you can’t do that every week. Cody has made a name for himself since leaving the WWE and there’s certainly people that will tune in to watch him, but if the expectations are too high early on then those fans are going to stop caring pretty quickly. And nobody is tuning in to AEW to see Shawn “that 10 guy who is mean now” Spears. Fortunately we live in a world where we can enjoy both things separately at our own leisure, which I intend to do.

Makes complete sense. I think Cody has what it takes to be the lead guy, but realistically this entire fed has been built on big moments as opposed to long-term storytelling ... which makes complete sense in the context of three shows and an online webseries. Weekly TV is going to be much different, and they damn sure need to figure out how to block-out a two-hour show that's fast-paced, complete, and entertaining. I'm not wholly convinced they're going to do that right off the bat. And while some may say "give them time!!!," they don't get that luxury based on their bluster out the gate. They've set the expectation that they will deliver from Day One.

Checked out some of the show. Here are my brief thoughts.
Not a fan of the goofy gimmicks. I speak of the Dinosaur team and especially The Dark Order. No idea what Dark Order is supposed to be, to be honest. A mish mash of some good ideas and some bad ideas that, as a whole, is just very dumb, the kind of thing that pro-wrestling fans are embarrassed to watch. I can see the Dinosaur team's appeal to younger audiences, but they don't do much for me. Jungle Boy and his mini-me are stupid. Luchasaurus is kinda cool, though. Him cleaning house was pretty awesome.
Kenny Omega vs PAC was fantastic. Match of the night. My only complaint is these guys doing huge dives when there's not enough room between the apron and the crowd barrier to do it safely. Both guys walloped their legs pretty hard against the barrier. There's no need for it. Loved the finish.
Riho vs Shida was a pretty fun match. Nothing outstanding, but they had good chemistry and Riho mostly convinced me of her believability in spite of her tiny frame.
Jericho vs Page had some good moments, and a couple of great ones, but for the most part it was a fairly mediocre main event match. Gotta say, as much as I dislike the Judas Effect, it was used well here in a pretty nice surprise finish.

If they are using the best bout machine nickname for Omega. And he is losing to AEW main eventers in Jericho and Pac. I don't know much about Cima but assume around upper midcard to lower main eventer at least how he will probably be used in AEW. Doesn't that make him AEW Dolph Ziggler right now. I know it will probably change, but right now when you got the most eyes on you. He may appear as the guy to look out for in the future not the guy of right now.

After nearly killing himself for years in Japan, I think Kenny Omega is happy to do some jobs and just put on good matches for now. And I think they’re going to use him to push home the fact that the win/loss records matter. He’s 2-2 and I could easily see him having a losing record towards the end of the year that prompts him to refocus and go on a killing spree to kick off 2020.
As for Luchasaurus, I love him. He’s like Kane that can do flips. I love goofy shit when it’s done properly.
Jungle Boy is mostly over because A) he’s appealing to kids and B) he’s Luke Perry’s son. I don’t know who the other guy is but whatever. 2/3 of the stable is fun to watch.

Looks like I'm the only person that likes The Dark Order. The thing that bugs me the most is that they’re a good tag team. They’re really great in the ring. Everything else is weird as fuck though and just makes me uncomfortable.

I'm on board with the entire jurassic express team because they make their campiness fun, but the dark order are just campy in a bad way.
