Bring on Dragon Quest XI S! I've yet to actually play the demo which is supposed to be the first ten or so hours of the game since I've been too busy cleaning up the streets in Astral Chain. However, I've been holding off for a year since DQXI waiting for this entry with the symphonic ost and other bells and whistles. I haven't played through a DQ game since VIII but that was one of my favourite playthroughs of any game period. Every complaint I had of modern JRPGs was fixed and as a result it actually made those other games better as a result. I could understand why so many games went in different directions since DQ had that design philosophy cornered off.
Laymen Gaming talked up Gears V as a strong entry for the series. From memory they called it GoW 4-2 but they improved on everything making it a far richer experience all in all.
Gaming Confession: I've never played Borderlands. I feel as a loot based shooter, it would probably suck me dry of all my free time.
I still need to play the demo of Daemon X Machina. Damn Nintendo and their Direct 'we didn't even ask for'.
Link's Awakening looks gorgeous. None of the new modes impress me much and if anything the dungeon maker idea looks half-assessed. I'm sure it's good and I'm curious to see if this becomes the definitive way to experience the game.
I only heard of the Surge because Digital Foundry brought it up as one of the more technically impressive games of 2017. Something about how it ran on it's own engine and considering the size of the studio, played well? It's a Dark Souls clone, so hopefully 2 can take it up a notch.
Code Vein is also a Dark Souls clone, albeit a budget one that panders to the Japanese crowd. Everything about this game leading to it's release has been lukewarm, but I heard the demo wasn't terrible and character creation was actually pretty varied?
It's going to be interesting to see if any of these games can break into the Top 10.

I really shouldn’t buy NHL 20 but I’m totally going to.
my wife went to the mall the other day and put holds on both Links Awakening and Luigi’s Mansion 3. I knew there was a reason I married her.

Awesome! Didn’t know there was Truck Driver game coming to PS4. I have one of them on PC but I hate using a mouse & keyboard except for RTS games and WOW, so glad it’s coming to consoles. Big Pete I also watch Laymen Gaming 👌🏻

Greedfall, Borderlands 3, Code Vein, and the Messenger for me...pretty stacked month, probably roll into next month. Greedfall I'm really looking forward to the most, for a game that kind of just quietly came out of nowhere to jump on my radar in the last month or so.
Also check the Surge 2 eventually, still gotta finish the first one, just kinda fell out 1/2-2/3's of the way through...I know the enemy combinations were annoying me. I'd start it from the beginning if I re-played it though.

That's the last time I use the EB Games Database for one of these threads. I decided to do a quick exercise the other day and record all the upcoming game releases just to keep on top of it. I thought I covered most of it, but sure enough all these Greedfall reviews start popping up. From what I hear, the game is bit of a poor man's Witcher and really only exists to tide you over until the next Elder Scrolls game comes out.

Yeah, it's a AA Dragon Age/Witcher from what I've seen, I hear it's mission structure makes up for the short comings, as there's supposedly actual story behind every quest, not just random fetch quests.

I have been waiting for Borderlands 3 for what seems like forever. I rarely go to the early release events that my local store does, but I've already picked up my ticket and can hardly wait for tomorrow night.

I really shouldn’t buy NHL 20 but I’m totally going to. I should probably pick this up myself, at the moment I'm still playing NHL 16 (prior to that I was playing NHL 2004 for about ten years), so I could use an updated game. That's the last time I use the EB Games Database for one of these threads. It's probably better than my method, where I use Wikipedia, to see what games are coming out. I basically do the same thing with video games, as I do with movies... look up what's coming out at the beginning of the year for that year on Wikipedia, write it down in a google doc and make the necessary changes (adding games that get announced, changing release dates, Etc.) when needed.

Yeah, I always like to keep looking forward and making the most of the present. It's just a shame that a lot of games databases are a pain to navigate through. GameFAQs has it's challenges, and I largely hate the layout with mobygames. It is what it is, sadly there's only so few list keepers out there. Especially those that can distinguish between cheap indie games and games with a decent budget behind them for PC.

Good News: There's gonna be a Yakuza 7, starring a new character.
Bad News: The combat is now turn-based.

Well hell, one of my favorite franchises with one of my least favorite genres...should have made it a spin-off, not "Yakuza 7."
