There is a brief moment where I step out of the shower. Rinsed by water and arguably natural as I can be. Well, while doused in chlorinated water. Almost immediately after I brush my teeth, use mouthwash, apply deodorant and antiperspirant, spray on cologne and every other day I apply aftershave, most days I put hair product in my hair. Most days while I do this, I wonder how people who fear chemicals do this. During the process of coming from the shower I wash my hands a couple times. Once to wash off the hair product and once to wash off the aftershave. By the time I ready myself for breakfast I am fully awash in foreign chemicals. How do people do the opposite?
I only dodge chemicals that I know are harmful. I don't use tobacco or nicotine. Normally, I dodge nitrates in meats if I can. I don't eat popcorn, especially microwave. Don't eat delivery pizza. Both the popcorn and pizza are because of the crap in the lining of the bag/box so food doesn't stick is a known carcinogen. Generally speaking, I dodge known carcinogens. Alcohol being the exception, I know alcohol is a known carcinogen but I still drink it.
Where do you draw the line with harmful chemicals?

Other than drugs and alcohol which i don't avoid for chemical reasons, there's nothing that comes to mind.
My sister does all the organic/natural stuff (She's vegan) and is very conscious of that sort of stuff.

It's just too much effort and expense to worry about really. I looked into natural deodorants a while ago - because regardless of what they say about aluminium being safe I'm sure it can't be particularly good for you - but that shit is literally about fifteen times the price.

I used to have a friend in college who used some kind of fruit (lemons or limes I want to say) as a “deodorant”. It did not work. I mean she was cool, but I didn’t see her much in the afternoon/evening.

I try to avoid too many processed chemicals in my food, but I do drink.
No deodorant but I shower at least once a day but I do use body wash, which is near 100% chemicals, rather than natural organic soaps
so I dunno. I try not to worry too much about it; we're bombarded by cell phone and WiFi radiation and TV/radio waves 24/7 anyways so while I'm not about to start drinking bleach, I'm also under no illusions that I can be 100% safe from anything that kindasortamaybe one day could contribute to cancer.

I have a friend that tries to avoid buying products that are made in China. He says its not political. Just that they have no regulations and use all kinds of bad shit.
I'm curious about household pesticides. Why does it always seems like the stuff that works the best get taken off the market? Is it really bad for you or does it works too good?
