I tried watching this awhile back for the Tom Cruise list and couldn't finish it , tried to finish it and just didn't have the motivation or want to. Something about this movie that just couldn't hook me and took me completely out of it - maybe it was Cruise's need to have a wife played by an actress 30 years younger or something I don't know but it lost me.

Great film I love how he has endless luck almost the entire movie...then his luck STOPS in the end and contrasts the rest of it so well

This movie was good fun and felt like it fit the category to a T.
The pool of films to pick from also ended up being very shallow.
But this was good fun.
Narcos on Netflix handled Barry Seal's story a little better IMO, but hey... This was fun.

Just snuck in on my list, it's solid, Cruise is Cruise, but pretty bog standard for the genre.

Let's reveal this list two films at a time! I should but that puts a real time crunch on the Leo list. Maybe a few entries.

Let’s not do any crunching to the “Kid Presents:” list. Also is Lionheart okay? Haven’t seen him in awhile.

I love Pineapple Express , I seen it on a bunch of lists and ignored it because I didn't think it fit but the more I thought about it the more I guess it kind of does. It was really at the peak of Rogen's powers though and while I wouldn't put it up there with a few of his other landmark comedies I do think it's at the top of the tier right below and definitely memorable enough. He and Franco have great chemistry and obviously know how to do the stoner genre and Danny McBride comes in as a great wild card and brings a different style to the movie that it really needed. Just a great all around ensemble that I guess is deserving of being on the list.

I’ll never forget my first time watching this movie in theaters.
We literally smoked a fat blunt right before showing. We have an alley near our theater so we smoked in it, ran in and literally just missed the trailers. So it was all good. Plus, we snuck snacks inside because fuck movie prices. That first scene was everything to a beginning of a high. The explanation he was giving on how the weed made him feel was EXACTLY how I felt at that time. Syrup over pancakes or something like that.
I ended up watching that movie twice in theaters and a few more times after. A definite favorite of mine that even gets serious and remains good. Awesome movie.
I had it at 4, but my top 3 might not even be considered drug running movies so I don’t know where it ended up ranking on my list.

I love these kind of movies so I'll have to check it out at some point. I was skeptical though because I'm not a huge fan of Seth Rogen. I do like James Franco though, so maybe it will still work.

We hot boxed the fuck out of my friend’s car and I don’t think there was a single sober person in our theatre. It was a fucking blast. I love these kind of movies so I'll have to check it out at some point. I was skeptical though because I'm not a huge fan of Seth Rogen. I do like James Franco though, so maybe it will still work. Rogen is ok in this one and plays the straight man (mostly). Franco is hilarious and they really lean in to how absurd the story is, to the point that it starts as a harmless stoner comedy and then suddenly devolves into fucking Die Hard. Seth Rogen did a Q&A on twitter on the 10th anniversary of the movie release and something interesting I learned: him and Evan Goldberg wrote the script with Rogen as the stoner drug dealer and Franco as the straight man sucked in to the story. Franco read the script and said it would be funnier if they switched roles and Rogen agreed. The movie was almost completely different and I’m glad Franco thought of that because I think it would have sucked the other way around.

Yeah. James Franco nailed his role. I’m 100% sure he was stoned through it too. His eyes were blood shot. That high smile hehad on. This was the perfect stoner movie. Probably the GOAT.

Pineapple was considered but didn't make my final cut. Not enough trafficking, I guess? No qualms with it though.

Cool, I guess.
Two disappointing lists in a row. Can't wait for this one to be over so we can all start collectively drooling over Leonardo DiCaprio.
