LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR!
LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR!
LET THE BODIES HIT THE....
.... BOOM BOOM....
..... FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!
We have reached Week 6 and the injuries have started piling up. Todd Gurley is battling a thigh contusion. David Johnson is battling a bad back. The Chargers have lost another player to IR, this time Pouncey. The 49ers, Chiefs and Packers are starting to get hit with more and more injuries. Will Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams return to action this week? For the sake of good football, let's hope so.
The week kicks off with the New York Giants sending their back ups to Foxborough to take on the undefeated Patriots. The Giants will be without Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Sterling Shepard and Wayne Gallman. Would this be an appropriate time to send Eli Manning onto the field and feed him to the wolves? Or are we going to allow Danny Dimes to go into Thursday Night Football against the best defense in the NFL with Golden Tate and Rhett Ellison? Needless to say, the Patriots should remain the top defense in the NFL after this week as their cruise through an easy ass schedule continues. Patriots win 38-7.
At least we have some good games on slate for Sunday.
NO LOBSTERS IN LONDON FOR JAMEIS AND THE BUCS; CMC MVP
Sunday opens up overseas with a 930am (ET) game. The Panthers take on the Buccaneers. Since Cam Newton went out injured, Kyle Allen has taken over the team and is 3-0. The Panthers have went from 0-2 to 3-2 and CMC is playing like an MVP right now. The Buccaneers had a chance to take the division into their hands last week after stunning the Rams, but failed to do so as they allowed Teddy Bridgewater to have a career day against them. Both teams are still in position to make a run for the division, but this game could do damage. If TB loses this game, you can safely say their season is over. Will Jameis Winston be able to dash through this Panthers squad who are #2 in the NFL in sacks right now or will Kyle Allen go to 4-0 as a starter and put the Panthers in prime position at 4-2 to make a run for the playoffs? I'm torn with this pick, but I'm going to have to go with my guy CMC and predict another 200+ yard outburst from that beautiful maniac. Panthers win 35-17.
RUSS CONTINUES ON HIS MVP COURSE WHILE BAKER AND CO STRUGGLE
The Cleveland Browns were just humiliated on national television AGAIN. The ass whooping they received from the 49ers was just stunning. It's embarrassing to see these guys go on the field, to be honest. Baker can't get a pass off and when he does, it's 50% of the time deflected. He has no time to move and OBJ has a total of 4 receptions through 2 games. A game against MVP candidate Russell Wilson and the 4-1 Seattle Seahawks doesn't sound like a problem solving game. Yes, people slept on them and they went and beat the shit out of the Ravens, but this one is different. This Seattle team is not the type of team to allow someone to come and 'beat the shit out of them'. The Browns might look better here, but I have no question that they will be leaving Week 6 with a disappointing 2-4 record. I'm with UT on this; Freddie Kitchens sucks and might be a 1 year HC here. Seahawks win 27-17.
THE FLOCK FEASTS ON THE KITTENS
The Cincinnati Bengals suck. Is it really their fault? A team salvaged by injuries to their O-Line and AJ Green before the season even started. It was followed up with John Ross going on IR. This team is 0-4 and looking less and less competitive every game. After nearly beating the Seahawks in Week 1, the Bengals have looked as a bottom 3 team in the NFL. Which they are. It's so weird how coaches fuck shit up sometimes. Last week, Joe Mixon tore the first drive up with 60+ yards of rushing. Then they stopped giving him the ball and tried to let Andy Dalton win. They lost on a GW FG to Arizona in a game they could have realistically won if they just kept letting Joe Mixon run through the Cards. Now they go into a division match up against the leaders of the division who have been un-Raven-like so far. Their D is average and I can't say I remember the last time you could say that about Baltimore. Lamar Jackson started off hot, but has started to slow down. This should be a get right game for both Lamar and the Baltimore D as I project a dominant blowout with two pick 6's. The Ravens should leave Week 6 with a 2 game lead over the closest team in the AFC North. Ravens win 45-10.
BATTLE FOR TUA PART 1
We'll stick to the bad teams with this one. We get the privilege of watching the Dolphins and the Redskins square off. Both teams winless and looking for their first win. The Redskins coming into this game with a new interim HC after firing Jay Gruden. Nobody knows who will be the starting QB for the Redskins in this game, but I'm leaning towards Case Keenum returning here. The Miami Dolphins have announced that their starting QB for the remainder of the season is going to be Josh Rosen so at least that's set in stone. In what should be a battle between two terrible teams, I project Adrian Peterson to steal the show and have a vintage 150+ rushing yard game with a pair of TDs. We'll get to see Scary Terry and Preston Williams also shine for their respective teams, but I think the Redskins are still a better team then that crappy Dolphins team. Redskins win 30-17.
BRING YO GUNS; WATSON OUTPERFORMS MAHOMES
In what should be the most exciting game of the day, we get a battle of 2017 draft picks Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun 'FIGHT SOMEONE IRL!" Watson. The Houston Texans absolutely lit up the Atlanta Falcons last week scoring over 50 points. Will Fuller broke the record for points in Draft Kings with his insane game. He could've had 2 more TDs (he finished with 3) to add on to his historic performance but was tackled inside the 5. The Houston Texans are coming off of a huge high and are getting to continue that fire against another poor defense. The Kansas City Chiefs come into this game after being humbled and ripped apart by the Indianapolis Colts and their defense last week. Patrick Mahomes was hobbled and limping from the ass kicking he was getting. Sammy Watkins was injured early in the game and didn't show up. Shady McCoy is limping and hurt. Sure Damien Williams is back, but he still sucks. The main question will be if The Cheetah will return this week. It would definitely be helpful. If not, the Chiefs will be sending out Hardman, Robinson and Pringle at WR. Either way, I think the Texans continue their hot streak in this game and there's nothing the Honey Badger can do defensively against his former team. Both QBs put up big numbers, but the Chiefs fail to find the end zone enough to keep pace with Houston. Deshaun Watson quietly joins the MVP conversation in this one and the Chiefs lose 2 in a row. Texans win 38-29.
MINSHEWMANIA VS BRIDGEWATER-GATE; THE SAINTS BREES THROUGH
MinshewMania met CMC last week and failed to continue his winning ways. Now, he'll meet Teddy Bridgewater and a Saints team that is also undefeated since Drew Brees went out injured. A lot of people are expecting Minshew to tear through the D of New Orleans, but I don't think the Saints D is bad. I think we're going to get a complete game out of the Saints here as they dominate on both ends. Fournette will have a hard time finding running room and Minshew will have his first bad game of the season. Bridgewater is not going to duplicate his career day, but he's not going to have to. The Saints will 'brees' by in this one. Saints win 27-7.
COUSINS VS WENTZ; COUSINS DIGGS INTO THE EAGLES SECONDARY FOR A DUB
Both teams come into this game at 3-2 with the division lead in reach. The Eagles gameplan coming into this game will be to stop Dalvin Cook. Good luck with that. But their main problem will be their secondary which has been awful all season. Kirk Cousins continues to air it out in this one as the Vikings noise gets quieter. Stefon Diggs has a huge game in this one (8/153/1), which will keep him temporarily happy (Stefon wink). Dalvin has 150 total yards, mostly through the air. Zack Ertz finally has a big game, too, scoring 2 TDs to go along with 9 receptions and 115 yards. The Eagles problem is getting into the end zone in this one as they settle for too many FGs. It gives the Vikings life and a chance. It will definitely be a close game because both teams are qualified to put one together. In the end, the failure on 3rd downs for Philly gives Kirk Cousins his opportunity to silence the critics. With under 2 minutes to go and down 2, he leads a game winning drive that has Cousins hit Diggs for his final completion (34 yards) on 3rd and 10 to put the Vikings in FG range at the 27 yard line. YOU LIKE THAT?! YOU LIKE THAT?! Cousins and Diggs are fired up. The Vikings send out Dan Bailey and he goes out there kicking a GW FG as time expires. The NFC North continues to be a dog fight. Vikings win 24-23.
MEDICORITY MEETS MEDIOCRITY; BUT DENVER PREVAILS
In what will probably be the most dull and boring game of the Sunday slate, we get Denver versus Tennessee. Two solid defenses. The Broncos come in after a big win over the Chargers. The Titans come in after a heartbreaking loss after missing 4 FGs. They come in with a new kicker, the kicker who is the definition of 'heartbreaker'. Mr. Double Doink Cody Parkey. This game will probably go to OT just to torture us and it'll probably go there with Cody Parkey tying it up with a 40 yard FG as time expires in regulation. In overtime, the Broncos get the ball first and finish it quick with a 70 yard catch and run for a TD by Courtland Sutton as he continues to be a someone. The Titans fall again in a heartbreaker after a defensive breakdown on the play and the Broncos turn their first win of the season to a 2 game winning streak. Broncos win 19-13.
BATTLE OF THE BIRDS; FALCONS HANG ON TO WIN
Both teams might be without their offensive stars for this game as both Julio Jones and David Johnson are battling an injury. Fortunately for Matt Ryan and Kyler Murray, they get to face two of the worst defenses in the NFL. The Falcons will jump out to an early big lead here up 3 scores going into halftime. In typical Falcons fashion, they start allowing Arizona back into the game. It will be a high scoring affair here that will have Kyler Murray leading his team down field for the GW TD in the final 2 minutes. However, the Falcons hang on to survive as Kyler Murray gets a pass deflected in the red zone that is picked off. I don't really have much insight for this one, but it should be fun to watch if you're a fan of offense. Especially with the unknown statuses of Julio and Johnson, I can't really tell you who shines more. What I can guarantee is QB fun. Both QBs throw for over 300 yards in this one; Kyler Murray even runs for 100, but in the end, the Falcons barely score more. Falcons win 38-34.
A CALIFORNIA SHOWDOWN; RAMS SURVIVE
In what should be looked at as the GOTW, we get ourselves a hell of a showdown here. pduh and the Niners Nation know that this game will show if this team is for real. Both teams are coming off of opposite types of games. The Niners coming in after a dominant performance on Primetime and the Rams coming off of a primetime heartbreaker thanks to Greg the Leg. The Rams are coming in with a 10 day break while the Niners are coming in on a 6 day break. I feel that may play a part in this one. The Rams could also be without Todd Gurley AND Brandin Cooks in this one, so this could be a Malcolm Brown show OR this could be Jared Goff earning his money type of game. If both Gurley and Cooks miss this game, I can't think of a way the Rams win this one, but I'm going to play this as they don't. If they do miss the game, I would not be surprised at all if the Niners wreck the Rams shit in this one. BUT if they got all their players, I just think the Rams have enough weapons to win this one. I expect Jimmy G to have a big game in this one as he will try to keep up with the Rams offense. However, in the end, Greg the Leg puts the game away with a 52 yard FG making it a two score game and that's the end of this one. The Niners still look good and still have the better record, but fall short in this one. IF the 49ers can win this game, then watch out because they will remain undefeated, the Rams will fall to 3-3 and the whole world will know that the 49ers are FOR REAL. Rams win 38-28.
SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL; CHARGERS STEAMROLL THE STEELERS
The Steelers will be going out there with their 3rd string QB for this one and it's not going to be pretty. Melvin Gordon will have a great game as he slowly but surely gets back into the football zone as he totals 170 yards and 2 TDs in this one. This game will be over by halftime as Primetime on Sunday fails to deliver. Chargers win 34-9.
MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL; RODGERS REMAINS THE THORN IN THE LIONS PAW
Yes, the Lions are better then anyone anticipated. Yes, they almost beat the Chiefs. BUT the Lions have been good before and have always failed to defeat Aaron Rodgers. I'm hopeful for fantasy purposes that Davante Adams is back for this game. If not, the Packers showed they can win without him thanks to Aaron Jones who was freed against Dallas. I think the defense of GB holds this one down, again. A near identical game as the one against Dallas. Green Bay jumps out to a big lead, get lazy, let Detroit back in, but make the stop when it's needed. Aaron Rodgers walks out with another dub against Detroit as they continue to hold down the NFC North. NOW if Minnesota loses to Philly, this game will have much more importance for both teams. With Chicago on a BYE, a Minnesota loss could almost guarantee this division belongs to Green Bay if they can win this one. If Detroit pulls off a primetime upset, then this division gets a whole lot more interesting.... but I just don't see it. Packers win 27-17.
AND THAT IS ALL I GOT SO LET'S GET READY FOR WEEK 6! LET'S GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!
