4) back on topic, I’m mad that Mrs RT and I didn’t get in a list. I’ll post ours when this is over. I don’t know why Jasmine makes the list though. She’s useless. Live-action movie Jasmine was alright but the cartoon version of her sucked.

Ariel does get points for being only Disney female to go topless.

Crazy that Mickey only ended up 7th on the list considering he is the face of Disney and all this movies fall under the "House of Mouse" because of him. I do get the other side too though as he isn't in a ton of feature movies and certainly not many of their most popular titles. If it was all encompassing or most iconic Disney characters I'd have to believe he'd be #1 with a bullet.

I considered giving props to Mickey for his outstanding Fantasia performance but with all the memorable Disney characters out there in such legendary classics with far more screentime, it just wasn’t enough. I am shocked that he made it on the list at all. He’s not a bad character, but there are just far more eccentric and likable ones.

Steamboat Willie is pretty famous.

I figured Mickie got votes not so much for his workrate, but simply being a name. He's the icon (that can still go) in all things. The mickey ears and meeting his costume counterpart at Disney is part of the experience. His name is just attached to everything. Mickey Mouse Club.

No. The House of Mouse is a pretty short series. But most of these Disney characters only have one or two movies. Mickey’s Christmas Carol is also really good.

Mickey has starred in 130 films, not including Fantasia. The Mickey of the 1920s and 30s was very different to the Mickey we know today. Mickey was a trouble-maker who wasn't afraid to wind people up for our entertainment. The character was known for his moxy than his good nature and he was the pillar for Disney. Nobody else could have been the mascot, and that was proven with Oswald.

The Disney renaissance is interesting in so far that the Disney princess' are almost entrapped in their roles. Ariel doesn't want to be The Little Mermaid, she wants to be a regular human being. Belle is enslaved to the Beast, but falls in love with him because he's deeper than most humans she knows (and has a ton of books). Then you've got Jasmine who has her entire life mapped out for her and she desperately wants to be somebody else. I didn't realise just how deep her inner conflict is. She finally summons up all the courage to flee the castle and spend one day purely on impulse, and it leads to the death of an innocent homeless man. She lives with that guilt for most of the movie and basically comes to accept her fate, until Aladdin defies all the odds.

Score one for the number twos! Garfunkle and Oates finally have somebody to look up to. I went Pumbaa purely because Timon is just Nathan Lane who is far more high profile than...*looks it up* Ernie Sabella. I hear Timon and think of a bunch of characters, I hear Pumbaa and it's just that character. Plus, by a hair, that Mr Pig scene just gives Pumba the edge. Both are fantastic characters that elevate the movie and I was all in on their TV show spin off.

Yes! The best Disney 'princess' of the bunch. She maybe one of the more relatable characters in Disney history. She doesn't rely on her status, moreso her feminine wiles and sharp wit to lure Herc. Her sardonic personality makes her stand out, and her pathos is understandable. Sells her soul for a man who forgets all about her - how cruel!

I Won't Say I'm In Love is my favourite Disney song of all time. As soon as I got the VHS, I rewound the tape at least a half dozen times just because I couldn't get enough of that song. Once again, doo wop is the greatest of all genres.

Moana is the absolute best , easily my favorite of the newer Disney princesses and right up there in contention for my favorite Disney princess of all time. She is just a badass that will not take no for an answer from anyone , is determined to get the job done to save her people. She's funny , charming , badass and "How far I'll Go" is an absolute banger and the best song ever sung by a Disney princess.

She has Maui too , but going toe to toe with the voice performance of The Rock and the charisma be brings to the character is no easy feat and she crushes it. Love the movie and I love Moana.

Why are people obsessed with these princesses? They are cluttering the list. Where the fuck is MAUI with the singing performance of the ages!? PI thinking cartoons are hot has totally skewed this list.

This is definitely the best of the new era Disney movies, and Moana as a strong protagonist is a large reason for that.

She didn't make my list (not hot enough - _-) but I know she rates pretty high for Wife.

I think Meg and Mo appearing back to back will make her Monday morning.

I had Moana ranked #5, she is easily my favorite Disney princess. I love her art direction, her voice acting and singing by Auli'i Cravahlo and the character herself is awesome in so many ways. Courageous and determined, yet empathic and understanding. She is a Disney princess that definitely raised the bar in so many ways.
