Well, in about 2 days, COD WW2 will be out. To say I've been hanging out for this is an understatement. The only COD games I've ever gotten into were the original on PC and World at World on PS3. I've been playing Battlefield 1 the last year.

I'm curious to see the reception of Battlefronts and CoDs single player mode. I have too many games to play to get too wrapped up in the online component of the game, but if the single player is worthwhile I'll make the plunge. Regardless, it's a testament to both games that they've at least piqued my curiosity. Everything coming out of CoD: WW2 sounds like everything I'd want out of the experience, while Battlefront 2 appears to have taken a lot of the criticisms of the original on board and is set to push the series forward.
Right now I'm leaning towards giving this month a rain cheque, but if there were two games I'd be interested in picking up it'd be Pokemon and .hack. Normally Pokemon would be a day one buy, I always enjoy going on an adventure and building up my own squad but every announcement so far has been a disappointment. Usually there's some kind of hook or new idea to get you to check the game out, this time it seems like they're just including features that were removed in the past games. Based on all the hype, I'd avoid this game but I'm curious to see whether or not it turns out like Black/White 2 which were some of the best campaigns the series had to offer.
.hack//GU was one of those PS2 JRPs that got my attention, but I never got my hands on them. There were 7 games in total released on the PS2, and we only received the first four, with the next batch remaining NTSC exclusive. I'm a sucker for PS2 games and the opportunity to get my hands on a series that eluded me all through out my teens has some appeal to me. It's just a matter of whether I pick them up now, or wait for the inevitable sale.
Also very curious to check out what sort of sales will be in store. Last year games like Titanfall 2 and Dishonoured 2 were $35-40 which was a bargain. I'd be keen to see how this year fares, I may have to set aside some cash to see what I can get away with.

Definitely NFS, i've been for a really proper open world version and this looks like that based on trailers and gameplay that i've seen on OutsideXbox.
Also the sims finally coming to console again.

COD WW2 is OK.
There was a massive fuck you 9.5gb update right off the bat before you could even load the game, to really fuck up your day. The single player is good, and visually looks stunning as it should. I'll play more of the campaign given time. I decided to jump online and play there - yeah, not into it. I didn't find it especially great - the small amount of players in the game, the game types.. na. Words like 'immersive' where thrown around in regards to Battlefield 1, because of the incredible online experience.
I'll complete the campaign, and probably experiment with the online, yet most likely go back to Battlefield.

Keep me posted on the campaign, especially how it compares to Battlefield 1. If it pales in comparison, I have no shame picking up Battlefield, especially since it's cheaper and I have more experience with the series.

Keep me posted on the campaign, especially how it compares to Battlefield 1. If it pales in comparison, I have no shame picking up Battlefield, especially since it's cheaper and I have more experience with the series. I found the campaign in Battlefield 1 was good, but it served as a tutorial for the online experience. This is where BF1 excels. Huge open battlefields, a lot of players in each game. Absolute chaos, it's carnage at times. And it's presented with a very clean GUI. It's a great game. The campaign visually is amazing. And from what I've seen of clips, there's so dark stuff coming up. As a WW2 nutter, I'll eat this up. The online however, there's something about rounds having " half time " and being limited to 12 players at times, that ruins the experience. For example, I was in a fire fight last night, and what would have been a fight to the death in battlefield, ended due to a time limit, as it was half time. The lobby is this weird open world, you awkwardly walk around trying to work shit out. Voices were coming through from other players, completely confused on how to actually play online. It's not complicated, just weird.

Pretty much just Call of Duty for me, since I'm still finishing up New Colossus and have yet to start Evil Within 2, won't get anything back in time for Lego Marvel, those are fun but never a priority for me.

Mario Party: The Top 100 (maybe) Pokemon: Ultra Moon
Definitely getting Ultra Moon for sure, that way I can eventually send the exclusive Moon Pokemon, to my Pokemon Sun game.

Well, I'm over COD WW2.
I feel the game itself is an unfinished knee-jerk reaction to the amazing Battlefield 1. Visually it looks great. It plays well and it's overall OK. Battlefield showed several different fronts in it's WW1 campaign mode. COD World at War did the same. The campaign is short.
The difference between COD WW2 and Battlefield 1 online, when you play Battlefield 1, the entire world around you is crumbling. The violence in Battlefield 1 causes everything to be destroyed - you're in a fight, it's chaos. It's also a much larger world also. It's the better war game.
I did enjoy some of the online, more so for the context and the historical reasons. Rather than the competition. Yet it doesn't compare.
Play Battlefield.
