Sometimes I see a person doing their work and I think "I'd hate to have that job."
A bouncer outside a seedy nightclub. What an awful job that must be. Watching drunk prick teenager after drunk prick teenager entering your establishment. Occasionally having to throw someone out while he vomits all over your shoes. Breaking up fights. Being fought against. But really, most of the time you're just standing around in the cold, watching people have fun, and trying to look tough.
A politician. Sure, the pay must be great, and if you get to the job you reap all the benefits of corruption and saying or doing pretty much whatever you like with no consequences, but man, what a boring job. All you do is wake up in the morning, put on your suit and tie, and either listen to people talk about boring stuff for hours, or you yourself talk about boring stuff you barely understand for hours, while parrying difficult questions with something barely resembling wit. Even if you are good-hearted and well-intentioned, it's such a long, hard slog to get anywhere where you can really make a difference. Furthermore, once you get there, you won't be able to enact real change because the rich and the corrupt outnumber and overpower you. What a shit job. I don't understand how any non-psychopath can stand it.
What are your least favourite jobs? Use your imagination. No fast food workers or toilet cleaners (sorry @ness) please.

I've already had my nightmare job, it was when I was working at a Whole Foods warehouse. The shift could last for God knows how long, it literally did not have an endpoint on my schedule, my shift was just supposed to end "when the work was done". It was exhausting, miserable, monotonous work, it was freezing, it was quiet. I'd go in when the sun was out at one in the afternoon, and I'd be done at almost one o'clock in the morning, with my ride having gotten fed up of waiting for me and gone home, so I had to wait half an hour for an Uber.
I lasted two days, and I knew that if I went back for a third day, I would have actually killed myself. It was so miserable that where I work now, I literally couldn't go into the receiving area because it reminded me so much of the warehouse that I would start to have a panic attack and I couldn't breathe.

Isn't it illegal to make people work for an indeterminate amount of time?

Isn't it illegal to make people work for an indeterminate amount of time? Considering how bleak retirement is for a lot of people... no, definitely not.

Shrimp deveiner- they have their hands in ice-cold water all day deveining shrimp. Normally, shrimp are farmed in Thailand and the people who devein shrimp are basically indentured servants who crossed the border for a better life but now stuck in that shit job.
Hair sorter- When black women get wigs or extensions made of real hair it comes from different sources. In one documentary I watched, an Indian man went to various places to collect hair from individuals. Hair from brushes and such. It was put in potato sacks. They wash the hair and then make sure it is lined up with the grain. As in, it grows one way. So you have to sort it out by color and make sure the hair is going in the right direction. Please take this the right way, nothing really says privilege like being able to wear someone else's hair. In Brazil and Asia, poor people will grow their hair out just to donate it. Not like that reclaimed hair, I was talking about. Parents will farm their kid's hair and then cut it and sell it to the weave market.
Facebook moderator- A lifetime of seeing the most horrific shit on the web every day.

Anything that involves sick children. My job as a fire alarm tech takes me to every place you could imagine, and I've spent a lot of my career working in hospitals.
The days that I have to enter the NICU/PICU or the children's cancer treatment area are the days that I go home, hug my kids, pour a double whiskey and try my hardest not to cry. I absolutely cannot imagine having to work with those poor kids every day, knowing that some of them won't make it.

Being the computer forensics guy at the police office would suck. You would have to search people's computers for child porn and find it. I know it's for the greater good but it sounds like navigating a minefield of vomit.
