I'm sorry if I've missed something but I haven't heard anything about what the diamond ring is for that MJF won this week on Dynamite... I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me & what they think will transpire with it over the next few months

I don't think it's as significant as anyone of us may want it to be.
They had a match and this was the prize. I think that's it. Also, I don't know if you heard, but it's worth like 45000 dollars, pretty big deal.

They mentioned on commentary that it's an annual event. No idea why it exists though. Just a vehicle for MJF to get more heat and possibly to set up an angle with DDP.

It is a bragging trophy. In WWE terms like the King of the Ring winner, Best in the World Tournament, and Andre memorial battle royal winner. Something that may be used to billed a program but doesn't need to be defended.

If it’s a bragging trophy, then have the tournament to go with it.
What an incredible way to introduce AEW’s undercard, a young lions tournament for anyone who hasn’t been signed to a major company.
