So I guess I am a Boomer... Not a fully fledged baby boomer, I am not old enough I think... But I got my first "ok boomer" today and it hurt more than my first gray pube, thanks nazzer (For the boomer thing, not the pubes thing) So to be a "boomer", is it purely an age thing, or is more of being an entitled asshole?... I know I qualify on at least one front But I think people are being assholes towards the baby boomers. They worked hard and paid the taxes that built the society we live in today... If you think that's a bad thing... Go to Mumbai and Manila and then tell me about how oppressed you are. So maybe we make this the official Boomer thread to talk about: DIY Lawn Care Grilling Car detailing Punctuation

God, that list makes me a boomer at 36.
My plans for the weekend include lawns, gardening, some awfully executed DIY and I’m dying to get the old car out for a spin.

Throw in a trip to Bunnings and I could skip the Viagra. Fuck me, I’ve already been to Bunnings this week. Usually I get the old car out of the shed, wash it and drive it to Bunnings, and buy things to do around the house. I’ve gone boomer.

You're a boomer if your values are antiquated in the eyes of the younger generation.
The place online I see on boomer the most is discussion on climate change.

The “ OK Boomer “ tag has a very small amount of potential to turn into another “ racist! sexist! “ rebuttal from offended millennials.

Frankly Boomer is a complement given the extreme ignorance of most of those that use the term.

I don't think that term is used here. You just get called 'old' or 'grandma' which, considering I technically could be one since my daughter is turning 21, I don't care for AT ALL. Also, WTF does 3AW mean @admin? I went into a fabric store the other day (which could constitute a 'boomer' type trait in itself)and I noticed the two young ladies working the cash were wearing belly shirts and proceeded to go into a tirade with my mom and friends about how 'that generation' doesn't dress properly for a professional work environment and how they don't take pride in their appearance at work or work ethic. Now if you work in a casual trendy clothing store then perhaps a belly/crop top is warranted but a fabric store? Mind you the fabric was half off so perhaps they were just following suit?

Moved about 30 20kg pavers this morning from my patio area, and did a 6x1.5m along the side of my car shed and a small path along the front of the garden shed.
Then took the old girl for a spin, to Bunnings to pick up another load of different pavers to redo the patio garden.
In typical fashion I picked up a new valve for the old car, as I’ve been slowly rebuilding/replacing old for new in the engine.
Let’s keep the politics out of it, some of us have interests outside of wrestling that don’t include anime and comic books.

Because everyone wants a train line outside their bedroom window? "Everything is the boomers fault" young people "use boomer taxes to pay for things we want" Also young people Moved about 30 20kg pavers this morning from my patio area, and did a 6x1.5m along the side of my car shed and a small path along the front of the garden shed. I just still can't get over how there's grass in Australia. And yards that look American, no less! Always just assumed the terrain went from fine soft sand of glorious beaches directly into the cement like sand of the Outback.
Grass. Real green grass. I'll be damned.

Our yards are probably smaller and the grass is greener than a lot of the USA because we don't get snow. My grass goes yellow in the summer but it comes back.

I find watching Generation X become the man they rebelled against absolutely hilarious. When the Boomers die, Generation X will take over with the same level of ignorance. Then the Millenials will do it too. Not sure why each generation thinks it will be the first to not give into conservative mindsets as they age. There is one constant in this world, greed. As people start to acquire stuff, they start to care more about their stuff, than others.

My favorite boomer thing is the resistance to self-check outs and other kiosks that have been popping up in fast food. I've touched on this briefly before, but I find it so incredibly adorable some people think that by refusing to use them is saving jobs. The machines are here... the jobs are gone. You shop at Walmart... you're part of the problem dude.

It really is just pragmatism

It is ironic that nearly everyone I see supporting communism would be the first to be sent to the Labour camps when the commies took over.
