How are you (/how did you) closing off this decade?

I brought in 2010 celebrating at the Sydney fireworks,

I brought in 2020 making a fucking soy latte for someone 🤦🏻‍♀️

I will be seeing Cedric the Entertainer at a venue in the Houston area. Maybe stop off at a strip club. Top it all off with some Whataburger on the way home.

I was probably working till midnight in 2010 as a duty manager, and I don't remember much else. 

This year, the Wife, the 4 month old, and myself had a few drinks at my cousin's place, then walked around to the local NY Mardi Gras - music, some food, rides for the kids, a bit of a town fair type deal. Wholesome family fun. 

I've had a cracker decade, met the Mrs in 2009, travelled to 14 different countries, some twice, some 3 times. Married, another house, kid, dog, cats, project car.. work has seen a number of promotions, but I'm ready for a quiet life now, even at 36. I'm over chasing some woke definition of success and shooting at constantly moving targets.

If there's a lesson I've learnt, work isn't everything. By mid way through the decade, I was throwing everything at my career, even at the detriment of my home life, relationship, maybe even slightly, my mental health.

2019 was a decent year for me. I’m going to make 2020 even better.

It’s only just after 10pm here. I’m in my jammies, watching local TV and playing Crib Wars with mom planning to toast at midnight with my Scapegrace gold G&T.

I’m too old and tired to party anymore lol

My mom flew out today and we had appies, booze and board games. One of our neighbours set off some pretty ridiculous and definitely illegal fireworks. Currently watching the CBC coast to coast broadcast and will probably go to bed before midnight.

Can’t really ask for a better night than that. HNY PW, ya fucking sexy fucks.

My neighborhood has been shooting off illegal fireworks for the last two hours. Good thing I don't go back to work until Monday.

Finished off 2009/brought in 2010 by drinking and playing video games like Dance Central and Guitar Hero. Sitting around talking shit.

Finished off 2019/brought in 2020 by playing board games, talking shit and going swimming 👌🏼 Fantastic fun.

We rang in the New a Year watching one of our neighbours get arrested. 2 cop cars, an ambulance, fire truck and a partridge in a pear tree.

North Edmonton never disappoints.

I liked it a lot except for the final episode where the direction they took left me a bit cold. It's a very fun show, does a really good job of simultaneously between being really trashy but also being an accurate and intelligent representation of millennial culture, and having a lot of funny little lines in the dialogue.
