I was going to steal Emperor's technique of giving star ratings, but I'm 99% sure I'll be giving out 8 stars to matches by Wrestlemania time.

So I'm just not putting a limit on my list. I tried top 10 and top 25 in the past, and now I'm just going to rank my favourite matches for the year and see how many I have by the end. Maybe being a bit generous with my ratings at the moment. If anything else great comes along I may have to adjust accordingly. But that's it so far.

No other matches from NJPW's first few big shows grabbed me that much. Not even Naito vs KENTA. A minor disappointment, that one.

Shout out to Omega/Riho vs Sabin/Ford from the AEW Dark show on the Cruise. Best AEW match of 2020 so far.

Garza/Rush was a good match, though I thought Adam Cole/Kushida from the same show was better.

Either way, I'm gonna need to update my list.

Gargano and Balor had one hell of a fight in Portland. Also included Dijakovic/Lee because as much as it was paint by numbers, it was still an awesome match. Damn near perfect from both guys.

Also if you missed Raw last night, watch Black vs. Rowan if you watch nothing else. They had a surprisingly good match last night and the opening and finishing sequences were great.

Nothing surprising about Rowan

He's a beast.

*Keep in mind I only watch NWA Powerrr + one ROH show.

1. Battle Royal- ROH Free Enterprise- Tons of fun. Good storytelling. Neat surprises. Picture a well laid out Royal Rumble.
2. Ricky Starks vs. Trevor Murdoch- NWA Hard Times- Sensible, hard hitting face vs. face match that didn't wear out its welcome.
3. Briscoes vs. Flamita & Bandido- ROH Free Enterprise- Umm....the opposite of the above match. Balls to the wall actionfest that was a lot of fun live.
4. Thunder Rosa vs. Allysin Kay- NWA Hard Times- Similar to the above match in that this was a back and forth "epic" 
5. Thunder Rosa vs. ODB- NWA Powerrr 1/7- Poor woman's version of the cool Starks/Murdoch match. That's not a knock!

I’m gonna wait until after Revolution to update my list but Rush/Devlin from Wednesday is definitely making my list. Amazing match.

I am expecting big things from Cody/MJF and Allin/Guevara. The rest of the card, meh. Tag title match might be good.

Bucks vs Omega and Page I will toss up as well. Really fun match. Page using the one winged angel was a great touch.

Bryan/Styles would’ve been amazing in front of a real crowd.

Big Swole and 'match of the year' should never be uttered in the same sentence.

That is why I cut off at ****1/4 instead of ranking every match I've seen.

I am surprised by this. Big Swole brings more intensity than anyone else in the division and had a single match I considered great. Is she generally disliked here?

I obviously have seen thousands of matches and cut my list off as well. Also note that it is the very last one on the list, so not exactly super spectacular.
