Let’s talk about this legend. - 1,378 career receptions. #2 all time. 171 receptions away from Jerry Rice. - 17,083 receiving yards. #2 all time. - Stayed with the Arizona Cardinals throughout his whole career even when they were bad. - Made one of the greatest ‘forgotten plays’ in Super Bowl history when he caught a pass from Kurt Warner and took it 65 yards to the house, burning past everyone in black and gold to put the Cards up 23-20 with 2:37 left in the game. It became forgotten because Big Ben leading the GW drive and hitting Santonio Holmes with the perfect pass for the GW TD. A game Arizona could’ve, should’ve won. - The following season, he would leave off where he started in the playoffs. Well it started against Green Bay in the Divisional Round. After Aaron Rodgers sent the game to OT with the Hail Mary (forgotten coincidence), the Cards won the coin toss and got the ball first. On the first play Larry Legend took a pass 75 yards past everyone with cheese on their heads only to be finally tackled at the 5. Two plays later, he took a forward toss from Carson Palmer into the end zone to win the game. Sorry UT, but this man is magical. I have a feeling we saw the last of Larry this season and I think we should all cherish probably the most underrated and selfless WR in the NFL ever.

Is there another team that has anyone quite as clearly as their best ever player as Fitz is to the Cardinals?

Is there another team that has anyone quite as clearly as their best ever player as Fitz is to the Cardinals? Off the top of my head: Jim Brown with the Browns. He is synonymous with the team even all these years later. Tom Brady with the Patriots. John Hannah was their best player before Brady showed up. Drew Brees with the Saints. You have maybe Ricky Jackson , but Brees truly puts NOLA on the map. Point taken with Fitz though , he is Mr. Cardinal forever now and a class act and joy to watch play. Greatest run of playoffs games ever and it sucks it couldn’t end in a ring.

Is there another team that has anyone quite as clearly as their best ever player as Fitz is to the Cardinals? Jets and Joe Namath helped bring the lone super bowl win in franchise history and maybe Curtis Martin as the exception is the face/best of the franchise

Greatest run of playoffs games ever and it sucks it couldn’t end in a ring. Barry Sanders and the Detroit Lions, unless I’m forgetting someone but I don’t think I am. Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins. I can’t name you one player from the 72 Dolphins not named Bob Griese and he’s not even the main reason they went undefeated. Going to other sports... Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils. They had other good players during the 90s/early 2000s but Brodeur single-handedly won them more games than I can count, and is in the conversation for greatest goaltender of all-time. The Devils aren’t half as good without him. Cal Ripken, Jr and the Baltimore Orioles. Nolan Ryan and the Texas Rangers.

Sanders crossed my mind but Johnson at his peak was the best in the league and if you go back you have Night Train. It’s close but close enough to not be as obvious.
Dan Marino is a pretty great shout.

Well this proves how unappreciated Larry Fitzgerald is.... -_- Not really. It’s pretty clear he’s the greatest Cardinal in history ... and one of the greatest receivers of all time. Fitz is great. I loved watching him play for the last 15 years.

I wish the Cards would trade Larry to a contender, so he has a good chance at a championship. He may go down as the greatest player to never win a Super Bowl.

The greatest Cardinal of all-time, and the 2nd greatest wide receiver to ever play (yes I have him above Randy Moss)

IN SOME AWESOME NEWS!
Larry Fitzgerald has signed to another year with the Arizona Cardinals!
The chase to Jerry Rice continues and I am once again stoked for another year of the Arizona Cardinals!
He still led the team last season by going 75/804/4 for the season which is not Larry Legend like numbers but you can see the talent is still there. I don't know about you guys, but the NFL is a better place to me with Larry Fitzgerald still playing.
