The first announcement, is a remake of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, coming out on March 6th, which is nice I guess, especially since I haven't played to many of the side games. There's a demo for it, which should already be out, on the e-shop (gonna take a look after I post this). Outside of that it's mostly Pokemon Sword & Shield news, they are releasing an expansion pass (I guess instead of releasing a third game). The expansion will introduce the Isle of Armor (by the end of June), as well as the Crown of Tundra (sometime in fall), as well as bringing back 200+ Pokemon. On top of that, you'll have a new mentor in Mustard, as well as a new rival depending on which game you own.

I am excited that the original Mystery Dungeon games were remade, however, I am not excited about the $60 price. The thing is I will still buy it, and so will a good portion of the Pokemon fan base.
The direct overall left me happy. I am not one of the individuals that was disappointed by the size of the Pokedex, as I did not expect to have all of them. Nintendo has moved into the expansion pass territory, and figured they would go in this direction eventually. The content is worth the price with the amount of Pokemon coming along with the new wild areas. I'd rather play this game with consistent updates rather than spend more money on the same game with the updates.

I'm happy to see GameFreak stick with a version instead of moving onto let's say Shiny Sword and Sturdy Shield. It's still pretty pricey and wouldn't be far off making a new version, but just the convenience of sticking with my team and going on more adventures makes up for it. I like that it's going to be based more on the Wild Area than the traditional set up as well. I feel like the Wild Area design needed more work, so hopefully they've learned a few lessons before releasing this DLC.
