Tonight is the first of two weeks that AEW hits the sun, sand, and high tides. First up, it's the Bash at the Beach in Miami.
And no doubt, everyone associated with AEW will be in high spirits, after the news today that Dynamite's partnership with TNT will continue until at least 2023.
Among the matches that was scheduled for tonight, it was suppose to be Awesome Kong & Mel vs. Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida. However, Kong is out with an injury. So taking her place will be the head of the Nightmare Collective, Brandi Rhodes.
Also tonight, MJF, The Butcher, and The Blade vs. DDP, Dustin Rhodes, and QT Marshall. In a mini tournament, PAC vs. Darby Allin, and Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara, and the winners will face off to see who faces Chris Jericho next week for the AEW Title. And Cody will respond to MJF's challenge.

You know what is shit though? Dark Order. I truly hope it's Matt Hardy leading this team when he gets out of his WWE deal in like 2 months. This is cringe.

Out of all of the stables, Dark Order is by far the worst. They seem like one of those 70s/80s cartoon supervillain group.

Moxley taking the spike in the eye was brutal. Not seen something quite that nasty in pro-wrestling for a while. But if you play games with the nastiest gang in the area, and steal their million dollar car, you get what's comin' to ya.
PAC vs Darby Allin was fantastic. Perhaps the best AEW TV match to date. The promos by PAC and Moxley to close the show were also great.
Everything else was bad or just forgettable. Not feeling this Hangman Page angle. Page doesn't have the acting chops for it. Honestly, I don't even know what story they are trying to tell.

This was one of my favourite dynamite episodes so far. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the womens tag, which would have been fine if they had put anyone else in there except for brandi, she should not be wrestling.
I'm enjoying the character arc of hangman page, it feels like what was frustrating beginnings in aew for the elite is now turning around, except for that darned guy who's retreating into alcohol to deal with his cowboy bullshit.
The matches involving mox/sammy and pac/Darby were great. Both the losers came away looking good, without feeling like any sort of even Steven brooking. And the post match stuff in both was good stuff. While I hope and think mox will win next week, it does leave me a little worried about perceiving pac as a top buy as he seems like he's just there as a sort of gatekeeper.
