The playoffs are set.
American League:
WC- Minnesota Twins @ New York Yankees
WC Winner vs Cleveland Indians Boston Red Sox vs Houston Astros
National League:
WC- Colorado Rockies @ Arizona Diamondbacks
WC Winner vs Los Angeles Dodgers Chicago Cubs vs Washington Nationals
The playoffs look very exciting. I'm picking the Yankees and Diamondbacks to win their WC game, although either one could go the other way. As for the actual series, I don't expect anyone to beat the Indians in the WC and I think the Astros will beat out the Red Sox.
In the NL, the Nationals will find another way to lose especially with new onset injuries. I'll give the series to the Cubs. The Diamondbacks would be a tough match up for the Dodgers, but I'll stick with the Dodgers here.
My predictions:
Cleveland Indians def. Houston Astros in 6 Los Angeles Dodgers def. Chicago Cubs in 6
WORLD SERIES: Cleveland Indians def. Los Angeles Dodgers in 7

Minnesota's already up 3-0 in the top of the first, and the Yankees' starter only lasted a third of an inning.

The Yankees win. THEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!
An 8-4 win and the Baby Bombers advance to take on the best team in MLB (IMO), the Cleveland Indians. This is not going to be easy, but I believe in this squad.

The Diamondbacks survive and move on to the NLDS making me 2-0 in the Wildcard games.
I'm making some changes to my predictions.
Diamondbacks over Dodgers in 7. Kershaw chokes again. Cubs over Nationals in 5. The Nationals health costs them. Yankees over Indians in 7, yes I changed it. I'm biased, fuck it. Astros over Red Sox in 5. The Astros lose the 4th game and finish it at home.

Well the division series are best of five.
I’ll go Diamondbacks, Nationals, Indians, Astros, but honestly the whole thing is a crapshoot.

I totally forgot there 5 game series. The Astros and Indians took care of business tonight. If they square off in the ALCS, it is going to be a classic series. Those two teams are so good.

What a fucking back breaker.
Yankees up 8-3 with the bases loaded and 2 outs and fucking Lindor hits a grand slam. Just like that, the Yankees lead is 8-7.

David Price has been a Godsend out of the bullpen for the Sox. Has pitched way better than any starters in the postseason.
Down 0-2, this team is playing inspired in front of their home crowd after giving up 3 runs in the first inning. The wonder kid Rafael Devers hit a huge two run HR to give the Red Sox their first lead of this series. Now, they need to hold the lead to give Kimbrel the chance to close it out.

The Astros stole Game 4 today against the Red Sox and won the series. The Red Sox had that game and blew it in the end. Now the Astros await the winner of the Indians/Yankees.
We're going into the 8th inning right now with the Yankees up 7-3. I'm still pissed off about Game 2s management decisions by Girardi. The Yankees could easily be going for the series win right now. Instead, we're holding on for the series tie. I hope we hold on and bring it to a huge Game 5. I love these Baby Bombers.

The Yankees win! Theeeeeeee Yankeeeeees winnnnnnn!
Game 5, here we go! CC Sabathia in what could potentially be his final career start as a New York Yankee goes back to where it all began; in Cleveland. Man, CC is going to pitch his heart out for those pinstripes. I can feel it.

Upset about today's results but I look forward to the future. Devers is an absolute blast to watch and is going to be a superstar in the future. That inside the park HR was something else.
Once again, improving the pitching will be a focus in the offseason. After Sale, there is uncertainty. Hopefully, Price can build on his relief appearances to end the year.
Not sure what happens of Farrell at this point. Can see him get the boot after another early playoff exit.

Give Farrell the boot? Why? He's done more for that team then anyone else can at this point. Especially winning the division, again. They just ran into the red hot Astros who have a World Series roster.

They just ran into the red hot Astros who have a World Series roster. I agree with you. Just something I started seeing pop up after the game today. Mostly ESPN but their sports coverage is crap at this point. I like Farrell and I hope he sticks around but a lot of people are critical of his in game management this season. If the Red Sox want to compete with the Astros and Indians, they have to become a more balanced team like those two. You could see the Astros had too much power in their lineup for the Red Sox to stifle for a long period of time.

The Yankees are more balanced then the Red Sox, in my opinion and they still didn't win the division.

I'm proud of how the Yankees have battled back and did not give up. Now all of a sudden it comes down to one game. I'm not totally opposed to have Sabathia go in game five. Has a ton of experience, familiar with the ball park, and never is rattled on the mound. He also had a good run through the order against the Indians in game one. But, if you wanted to get a quick run with bunts you can. And, he obviously doesn't have the same stuff he did years ago. I admire how he changed up his mechanics. You just can't expect him to go six scoreless innings. But, I guess the Yankees just need four or five innings out of him.

This is it. Game 5. The Baby Bombers of the New York Yankees face off against the defending American League Champions and team with the best record in the American League this season; the Cleveland Indians.
CC Sabathia may be making his final start in pinstripes and it coincidentally goes down where it all began for him, in Cleveland. The Indians blew the World Series last season and are in danger of blowing this one. This is a chance for a player to become a legend tonight. I have a feeling the Indians are going to win this one; a really strong feeling. However, I am pulling for the Yankees (obviously) with all I got. I can't wait for this game to get started.
The Houston Astros await and they're most likely the inevitable team to represent the American League in this years World Series.
Also, the Red Sox are going to let their skipper John Farrell go. I don't agree with it, but whatever. I'm a Yankees fan and I don't like the Red Sox, so I root for them to make bad decisions.

Didi!
God bless that kid, man. Stepping in for Derek Jeter is big enough, but hitting a HR to start the do or die game AGAIN; that's what legends do. 1-0 Yankees.
Didi hit a HR against the Twins in the elimination game, as well.

Didi is having himself a game. 3-3, 2 HRs, all 3 RBIs.
3-0 Yankees going into the bottom of the 5th. We're half way done with this game. CC Sabathia also has EIGHT strikeouts through 4 innings pitched.

Got a bit of theater in this Game 5. It's gone 4 hours, it's 9-7 Cubs, and the Nats have two on, with no outs in the bottom of the 8th.

That double play was huge for the Cubs. A disaster for the Nationals. Man on 3rd with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th, down 2. Taylor has been awesome this series and he's up at bat.

Cubs win! Bryce Harper strikes out to end the game.
So we got:
ALCS: New York Yankees vs Houston Astros
NLCS: Chicago Cubs vs Los Angeles Dodgers
I'm going to go with Yankees vs Dodgers in the World Series.

Well, there it is. That call in the 8th did kill their chances.
What can you say about Dusty Baker. He's a good manager to send teams to the playoffs. But if you want to win a World Series, you better not have him.
