Anyone watch this? Part 1 was the period just before I started following the NFL so I found it absolutely fascinating to see what his career was like before the dog fighting scandal hit - especially as his legacy has been invoked so often this season with Lamar Jackson doing what he’s done. Some of those highlights of Vick’s crazy runs - wow. Those of you who watched during his prime, what are your favourite memories of his play?
I also found it interesting that the issues of how black quarterbacks are described and treated that featured heavily in the first part, still exist today, with so many recently doubting whether Jackson could play QB in the NFL. You’d think considering arguably the three best quarterbacks in the league right now are black then we must surely have moved past this now?

Vick was one of a kind in that day and age. When the NFL was becoming an aerial circus, Vick showed that QBs can still be mobile, and run with it. If Randall Cunningham was the prototype, Michael Vick was the finished product.
I just wished he'd win a Super Bowl. Especially when he was in Philly.

I remember his 1st or 2nd game (I think it was his first) being against he Packers on opening day and it ending in an absolute shootout and fun game that we barely won. No one expected that from him and he was insanely talented. Then he beat the Packers in the playoffs and can get fucked. Stupid slow ass defense.
He was incredibly talented but ultimately teams could and did start to figure him out. Especially Tampa and their fast defense. Never fully honed his craft or bothered to learn defenses and it showed.
His greatest legacy will be like that of Bo Jacksons to Tecmo. Vick was the greatest cheat code in Madden history , you couldn't stop the Vick led Falcons in that game.

That's just a lie. Cunningham was ultimately more of a finished product then Vick ever was.
