Dark Match Results
– Fandango & Tyler Breeze def. The Colons
WWE Smackdown Results
– Shane McMahon is out to kick off the show. He puts over tonight’s matches and sends a warning to Stephanie and Kurt Angle that they will be held personally responsible for what Kane did to Daniel Bryan last week. The New Day came out and they all celebrated another successful invasion of Raw, until Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn cut them off. The two groups exchanged words until Shane booked Sami in a match with Kofi Kingston.
(1) Kofi Kingston def. Sami Zayn. Said to be a very good back and forth match, with both guys hitting their big moves for close nearfalls at the end. Kingston got it with
(2) Randy Orton def. Rusev. It looks like Rusev will not be getting a spot on Team Smackdown after all…
(3) Becky Lynch def. James Ellsworth. The rest of the women’s division (minus champion Natalya) was out to watch Ellsworth get his a– kicked. After the match it appears that Carmella finally had enough of Ellsworth as she turned on him.
– Backstage segment with Natalya and Charlotte. Shane McMahon announced a title match next week with the winner facing Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series.
(4) Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin def. The Usos (c) via count-out. Good back and forth match but it may have ended in a legitimate injury for one of the champions. I believe it was Jimmy who went down on the outside grabbing at his knee, and Gable quickly did a chop block to set up a count-out. Officials helped Uso after the match during the commercial break.
– Baron Corbin vs. Sin Cara was announced in a match for the U.S. Championship next week on Smackdown, so it looks like Sin Cara’s injury wasn’t too bad.
(5) AJ Styles def. Jinder Mahal (c) to become the NEW WWE Champion! A surprisingly good match. The Singh brothers got involved near the end and Styles went after him, giving Jinder time to hit his finisher. AJ got his foot on the bottom rope, then hit the Phenomenal Forearm to win!
