Noticed there isn’t much MLW love in the threads. Anybody been catching Fusion lately for free on YouTube? It’s for sure my second favorite American promotion behind AEW. But let’s talk MLW! Jacob Fatu is the most slept on worker in the world right now imo. Contra Unit is MONEY

Definitely been wanting to check this out (and Reality of Wrestling). Your mission is to review and get me as intrigued in MLW as Baker-man did for NWA.

MLW Fusion #99 Review
Dynasty vs Savio Vega, Logan Creed, and Mance Warner
Solid 6 man tag match. Mance is pretty over and it’s always cool to see Savio. Hammerstone laid in some real solid forearms in an exchange with Savio that made me cringe. Logan Creed had the spot of the match with a tope suicida that took out two members of Dynasty which at 6’8” 315 lbs was impressive to see. Savio hit a classic spinning heel kick that had some extra torque. All in all nothing ground breaking but a solid 6 man opener. After the tope from Logan, Richard Holliday hit him with the belt for the 1,2,3. As Dynasty celebrates, Konnan disrupts the celebration with a loaded sock. Mance, Savio, Logan, and Konnan all celebrate with a beer bash.
*** 3 stars
Injustice (MLW Middleweight Champ Myron Reed, Jordan Oliver, and Kotto Brazil) crashes the beer bash as Konnan is the last one in the ring. Jordan Oliver takes the mic and begins some not very good old jokes to Konnan mixed with some anti-Philadelphia cheap heat. Konnan replies comparing Jordan to a pre pubescent Eminem. Out comes Brian Pillman Jr. He runs to the back and re-emerges with a chair, clearing Injustice from the ring. Spotty promo work from Oliver but Konnan delivered as always.
Jordan Oliver and Kotto Brazil (Injustice) vs Laredo Kid (side note, he is my local promotion’s based in Dayton, Ohio, Rockstar Pro’s World champ!) and Zenshi
Laredo and Zenshi are really cool luchadores, if you haven’t seen them, check em out
Match starts with all 4 men in the ring brawling briefly. Zenshi takes Kotto out of the rings with a reverse rana to the outside. Great double team combo with Laredo and Zenshi on Oliver while outside of the ring. Zenshi with an apron 619, Laredo with a plancha, then Zenshi with a running shooting star to Kotto off the apron. Near fall off a falcon arrow to Kotto from Laredo once in the ring (NO ONE KICKS OUT OF THE FALCON ARROW). Injustice takes control with heel tactics and the ol’ double pull your balls into the ring post to Laredo. Injustice controls the match with quick tags wearing him down and cheap shotting Zenshi. Jordan goes for a suplex and Laredo fights it off, hits a helluva right hand and hits the hot tag to Zenshi while Kotto hits a blind tag on Oliver. Zenshi climbs the top rope, Oliver rushes, Zenshi hops over him and hits a cartwheel backflip handspring pele kick to Kotto who is still on the apron. Truly impressive. More great face paced action with all four men in the ring. Dope double team spot with Zenshi hitting a tornado DDT and Laredo hitting a destroyer DDT I’ve never seen before. Near fall. Injustice takes control and hits their slingshot stunner into a crucifix for the win. Absolutely great tag match for a weekly show. Myron Reed mouths off to Pillman who was on commentary and Laredo takes out all of Injustice with a flying crossbody off the top. Then he hits Myron with his finish, grabs the middle weight belt, puts one foot on his chest and counts the 1, 2, 3.
***3/4 3 and 3/4 stars
Filthy Tom Lawler is backstage with Team Filthy bragging about them decimating the Von Erich’s in Texas where they are so beloved. He talks about despising everything from Texas, from Texas Toast, to Walker Texas Ranger, to Texas’ beloved sons the Von Erichs. Solid promo. Lawler is gonna be a star.
Video package hyping main event of Los Parks vs Contra Unit in a Lumberjack Match
Killer Kross video package, confusing considering he signed to the E.
The commentators inform us that Injustice gave the production crew a tape they wanna play. Myron taunts Pillman saying he shouldn’t even worry about the title because he hasn’t made weight to 205 and is fat. Meh.
Jimmy Havoc with Priscilla promo against Pillman as well. Warns him he doesn’t want to meet him at ECW arena next week. Enough promos. Ready for more wrestling. Next week main event is CIMA vs Fatu for the World Title. That’s gonna be incredible!!!
Los Parks (La Park and El Hijo Del La Park vs Contra Unit (Simon Gotch and Josef Samael)
Los Parks set both folding chairs in the center of the ring and standing on them to taunt while streamers reign in only to be blindsided by Contra. Contra takes control and uses the chairs to their advantage. Beginning to realize this is a tornado tag match. Contra controls with rest holds and strikes for a few minutes, occasionally hitting basic double team moves and biting LA Park’s fingers. Los parks then counter with a double drop kick knocking Contra to the outside. The lumberjacks swarm and toss them back in. Los Parks utilize their chairs and some double teams. Good stiff forearm strike duel between Fitch and El Hijo. Now just realized this isn’t a tornado match. Good fun but a little sloppy, although I guess it’s no dq. El Hijo pulls Gotch’s shirt over his head Cornholio style and lands a hellish chop to his exposed chest. Samael stand El Hijo with a spike to the forehead, Gotch lands a jackknife pin combination for a 2. Double team wear down of El Hijo. Backstabbed from Hijo leads to a hot tag. Hits an arm drag to Samael and a power slam to Gotch and looked out of breathe immediately. Gets some offense in but Samael has the spike. LA Park hits a good spear knocking the spike out his hand, which Hijo picks up and uses to spike Samael in the throat. Hijo climbs the top but chooses to moonsault the heel lumberjacks. LA Park hit the twisting sentom off the top for the win. Pretty okay match, some sloppy parts but the fun parts were real fun.
*** 3 Stars
Pretty good episode this week. Good tag action. Laredo and Zenshi vs Injustice was match of the night. Next week’s episode should be great though as MLW celebrates the 100th episode of Fusion. Great time to tune in if you haven’t yet!

I like MLW but I’m so far behind, as I started watching from the beginning, so I’m nowhere near close to being caught up.
