Can someone please explain to this to me. Megan Rapinoe is off on one claiming her team deserve equal pay for doing the same job. Now the guy who rightly called her out on it as apologised. Are we living in the real world? The US women make 21% of all revenues generated by the women's game vs. 8% for the men. But these people never have any logical argument for it, they just shout 'sexist' as loud as they can. The air of entitlement is incredible. Here's a recap of the story for anyone interested: www.cnn.com/2020/03/12/us/us-womens-soccer-protest-spt-trnd/index.htmlThe door is open for these people to play the men at any time. They lost 5-2 to an under-15 boys club three years ago. What happened to meritocracy in sport? I'm not blessed with the genetics of Usain Bolt either, can I have a gold medal?

The only argument they have that makes any sense is the federal dollars the national teams receive. Those indeed should be equal. Especially given the women have gotten better results than the men have.
Everything else though is laughable. The men get paid more raw money from FIFA because the men's game draws A FUCK TON more money worldwide. So despite the men getting a lower % of FIFA revenue they still are going to make far more money overall.
Also the women get paid a minimum salary, something the men do not. Honestly about the only more laughable argument is WNBA players crying about equal pay.

So the US Soccer President has resigned over this issue. www.espn.com/soccer/united-states-usa/story/4073719/us-soccer-president-carlos-cordeiro-steps-down-amid-uswnt-pay-disputeThere are plenty of logical examples you could choose in this discussion. The fact the prize money for world cup for men drastically exceeds women. You could point out that mens soccer players only receive a small reimbursement per appearance for the national team, whereas the womens players receive an annual salary. But no, the president of the soccer federation, Cordeiro, chose to go with misogyny. He chose the literal worst possible thing to say. What an idiot.
