Three entry warning for Tormented Fanbases!


Also looks like we are leaning towards Centers (all sports) going forward. Could be an interesting one.

I absolutely LOVE the centers idea. BRILLIANT!

Also for fan bases; are we doing like state/city wise or team wise?

Team Wise. Though if you want to factor city success into your rankings than by all means.

Should I bother sending one in knowing I would be bias and put the NY Jets at no.1? At least the Browns and Lions don't see AFC title game hopes only to get dashed and dicked one game prior to the SB.

EDIT: Alright sent one for tortured fanbases. 

My list was pretty much a tortuered NFL fan base list, so many easy targets.

My top 3 were heavily biased, the 3 teams I bitched most about on old/new PW. In the order you'd think.

Blindy and KING KID will be happy to know that the NY Jets placed on my list as well.

But behind my Leafs and Bills. I will hear no arguments against that ranking.

Can't believe this daft idea got over.

I only put like 2 minutes of thought into tortured fanbases but Baltimore Orioles crack the Top 10 or I riot.

With the way the NFL is set up there's really no excuses for teams to be bad for extended periods of time, much more so than baseball or basketball.

I'm sure we'll get into this more when the list is revealed, but the Jets better not beat the Browns here. Cleveland literally had their team taken away for a few seasons, and since resuming in 1999 have had 2 winning seasons, and no playoff wins.

The refs literally made up their own rules on the spot.  Worst example of officiating I've ever seen.

I had to re-do my list because I actually forgot to add the Bills and they belong.

Bills got to the promise land couple of times, they didn't win it but tell that to us Jets, Browns and Lions fans that and we'd be dancing on the street.

I did put the other Buffalo pro team in there. Pegulas have much more work cut out for them with that team. Maple Leafs to for you RT

Depends on your def. on torture. I think it's worse having the carrot dangled right in front of you 3 times in your lifetime without getting to taste it before seeing it yanked away vs not seeing a carrot at all and knowing it's doom all the time. That to me is more torturous, the Jets are a complete tease.


1998.....have John Elway's Broncos down for the count going into 2nd half, oh 2nd half domination. Broncos win, win SB.
2009.....get past Bengals, Rivers Chargers who had a dominant year, no Tom Brady in sight, oh run into Peyton Manning and good night.
2010.....beat Peyton Manning in wildcard round, beat Tom Brady in divisional round both on the road......here comes Big Ben, makes the throw that seals the season and wins the SB. 

Have not been to the playoffs since. 

I mean you've had it rough no doubt, but I don't remember the 09/10 runs as being calamitous errors or chokes anything - the Jets were always the underdogs there against the Pats, Steelers and Colts. In terms of carrots being dangled, I'd say a team like the Chargers have it way worse with that 2004-2009 run where they definitely should have won a Super Bowl - and of course they've also lost their team to LA now.

FIRST CALL FOR CENTERS! ALL SPORTS!

Just finished up both these lists. I don't know hockey well enough to include any tormented fanbases so I stuck to football and basketball, with one baseball franchise thrown in.

Centers on the other hand I included 3 hockey players because their greatness is undeniable. Also included some football centers as they are unlikely to get much love

After the Top 10 Centers, do you think we can go back and do Top 10 World Series?

Sports Docs , been waiting to do this for awhile but it just keeps falling by the wayside.

Got my centers list in. I also had 3 NHL centers, 5 NBA centers and 2 NFL centers which forced Sidney Crosby off the list, lol. Any excuse not to include him.

Submitted my centers list earlier today as well.

7 NBA, 2 NHL, and 1 NFL.
