The first 3 games seal the deal for me on Pi’s list and Wii Sports Resort is heaps of fun.
Loved Ness’ gimmick list but should have stuck with the theme the whole way through, there’s enough bad games in the world just ask AVGN 😂.

Was clearly a squash match, probably a good thing Ness took a couple decent games at the end, what with the "have to take one from the loser's list" stipulation, would've kind of been screwed otherwise.

@ness, my favorite pick of yours might be your last. For my money, that was my favorite Smash too. Might just be because of bitter feelings about GameCube overall and also not liking its controller, but I never successfully made the jump from the OG to anything that came after.
I also remember Superman terrifying me. I couldn't grasp the mechanics quickly enough, and the openness of the world overwhelmed me... Especially considering I felt like I couldn't control my character. Wasn't it based off the Animated Series, with Metallo as lead heel boss?

I'm giving Ness a vote because his creativity deserves some credit and honestly some of his 'maligned' picks aren't bad games. There was actually a game show in Australia where one of the challenges involved playing through some levels of Bubsy - A-Maze-Ing. One of my favourite 90s shows and to this day, I know I'm living in the wrong timeline because I was never able to become THE A-Maze-Ing Hall of Famer.
I also want to stick up for Castlevania 2 as an important milestone in the Action RPG genre. Like Zelda II, the game was too ahead of it's time and actually has a lot of great ideas. I understand why they didn't, but I wish Nintendo still kept that creative spirit and put whatever zany ideas they had into a new IP.
WWF No Mercy is going to get pi pretty far in this tournament for me. However, I appreciated Ness' change of pace.

Honesty test. Did anyone legitimately unlock the Ho in WWF No Mercy? I'm going to assume I didn't. But I did ultimately play through every story box for every title. So I presumably would have? The ho, poor thing, immediately got CAW'd into other female wrestlers. And then later into my mother(s)-in-law(s).

Funny sidebar time: Both my parents and Wife's parents are divorced. They got divorced between the time we graduated college and got married. The divorce between Wife's parents was particularly ugly and dramatic because of the money and egos involved. My mom, and Wife's mom and dad all remarried. My dad has just kinda dated around... He echoes Murtaugh, saying he's too old for this shit (this shit being marriage again). Anyway, my stepmother-in-law ended up being a childbride the same age as Wife. And stepfather-in-law ended up being this super manipulative narcissistic sociopath millionaire. There was a lot of family drama to work out on that side, but pretty convinced all family therapists were in stepfather-in-law's pocket. Not that any of us would've agree to counseling anyway. So the cathartic outlet for Wife and me became beating up on avatars in No Mercy! I made Wife, retooled my character, made Wife's little sister and rotating slot for her various boyfriends, both mothers-in-laws, both stepfather-in-laws, and Wife's little old Italian grandmother for good measure. Then booked various match types to play out real life issues with a pro wrestling twist. Had my PS3 still been working during all that, who knows if we'd have held it all together. Being forced to revert to the N64 directly led to No Mercy Therapy. And No Mercy Therapy beats ANY version of professional help.

Depending on who Ness went up against in the first round I may would have went with his list. Because overcoming painful memory can make for great memories.I have played Sonic The Hedgehog (2006), WWE 2K20, Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, Donkey Kong 3, Mass Effect 3, and Mega Man 2 .
Sonic 2006 may be closest to my favorite Sonic after overcoming Kingdom Valley.
WWE 2K20 really isn't that bad nowadays. At least for me it isn't. Some of the stuff I have overcome last week online felt amazing in that game.
I remember playing Mortal Kombat Mythologies and it was fine but I don't remember what happen and didn't finish so not really memorable.
I think Rare overestimated how much people care about Donkey Kong's extended cast in DK3. Mega Man 2 was good but it hard to make a bad Mega Man game.
ME3 ends may have been horrible and it couldn't live up to 2 but that game did let Tali be a love interest. Something I wanted since 1 since she was the coolest female around. Should have ditched Assley first chance he got. Normally I play Paragon male and Renegade Female. And reverse it for DA by playing good girl their and bad guy.
And ending on Ness list it is like Dragon Age 2. You can sleep with people two ways one is make them love you so much the classic way and the other one if they hate you enough you. Some type of way love can be born.
Now for pi's beast incarnate of a list lead by the greatest wrestling game of all time.I have played WWF No Mercy, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, X-Men, Soulcalibur, Angry Birds, Wii Sports Resort , Duck Hunt, and Contra.
No Mercy was the game were a met one of my wrestling buddies who I been friends with for 20 years. Me and another friend also who still cool with use to go to his house every weekend. It was me and my original friend against him and his cousin every weekend for house.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the first online shooter that I had fun playing online I think. Mainly with the first two guy I mentioned. Also meet some more friends of one the guys through that game.
X-men burn through a lot of money at the arcade.
For the longest time fighting games were my favorite genre Soulcalibur. Had a lot good times with it during highschool and college. Was playing SC6 a few months ago and it pretty said I can make better original anime characters in that game then actually anime games like Jump Force.
Angry birds one of the few games I had on my phone to kill time.
Wii Sports Resort was fun since I got to play something with my mom and grandmother.
Duck Hunt was a nice an arcade experience at home.
Contra was just fun with friends shooting everything.
So pi conquered ness list with the power of friendship at least for me.

Not gonna lie I thought ME3 was a bad game. Never played the series myself but was it just the ending? Or am I thinking of another game? Obviously after that were good games. Mania got old after a bit but those first few levels were fun.
SSB is my favorite. Lots of hrs on the n64 with friends and family. Plus I hated how much Kirby was nerfed in Melee. He was a killer. A real man and then you turned him into a fat obnoxious color commentator. And not even a good one!

One starts off slow and boring and gets pretty good by the end. Two continues with your choices starts at a high point and raises it even farther. 3 felt like it was still riding off ME2 performance but slowly declining then the pick your favorite color ending just took the series in a nose dive.
The wrestling equivalent of Mass Effect is probably Dolph Ziggler career.

Honestly, looking down the rosters, I actually prefer @ness's game collection as a whole, although I suspect these will be my two least favourite teams in the whole draft. 🤯 has a bunch of sports games I don't care about, and Call of Duty, which I don't care about. My favourite game from his collection is either No Mercy or Rollercoaster Tycoon, but I am hardly enamored by either. Theme Park World is a better vrsion of Rollercoaster Tycoon. No Mercy is a fun wrestling game, but I find it extremely overrated. Most of Ness' games may have a bad reputation, but purely genre wise I'd have a lot more fun with his collection. It's full of platformers and quirky retro games. My kinda thing.

At first I lol'd at "sports games" because Blitz was the only game based on real sports... but a total stretch at that, but then realized you meant sports as in the activities being simulated in the games more so than like a Madden-esque simulation of real leagues, players, etc. I'll concede you that. I also get not being into COD too. Violence like that isn't for everyone, nor are first person shooters. I've never heard of or played Theme Park World, but if it's better than Rollercoaster Tycoon... I wish I had. I would've totally given it a shot. The No Mercy comment is where you lost me entirely though and revealed yourself as a soulless putz who doesn't like fun. Extremely overrated!? GTFO bro. You must be one of those numbnuts who claims HCTP is equal to or better than No Mercy? Again, GTFO bro. I'm offended to my core right now. It's as if you just said that Johnny Gargano is a better pro wrestler than Brock Lesnar, or that there's a hotter politician out there than AOC. GTFO bro.

I would have given pi the vote until Ness went serious mode and took CTR, Mega Man 2, SSBn64 and Sonic Mania. Arguably, Ness had the best final 4 picks of anybody. Hell Mighty No.9 wasnt THAT bad either, I just wasn't one of the poor unfortunate souls who got suckered into that Kickstarter campaign and had that blow up in my face and I played it on a heavy discount. SOnic 06 is actually fun to play since the glitches are actually hilarious. Have not played 2K20 but I saw so much of the videos when it first came out that it gave me plenty of laughter
NFL Blitz/MK64(Best game pi has by far)/Soul Calibur are great and I liked Contra/No Mercy/XMen but I think the last 4 games along with MK64 are probably my top 5 favorites of the two teams. Earthbound might tip this into Ness's favor, might have been an inadvertent pick for him because he has to honor his pw name but still a good one nevertheless.

This is actually a very difficult choice. At first, it seemed like 🤯 was dominating. No Mercy is great. Starcraft is one of my favorite games as a kid; it's in contention for game I logged most hours into. Then Mario Kart follows and there's Blitz which is one of the few sports games that are actually good (I've always hated simulation borefests in any genre). I suspect even Emperor would like Blitz. Meanwhile, I haven't played Ness first six picks. And the only good one of the lot is probably Earthbound. But then I kept looking and saw PI had some garbage like Angry Birds and The Witness and that Ness has the greatest racing game of all time in Crash Team Racing. Not to mention Smash and Mass Effect. "Oh shit, I guess my vote is going to Ness after all...how wrong I was" I thought, but then I took another look at PI's list. Mario Tennis, the hidden gem there. A game I still play today. Fantastic game. One of the best games. Why am I talking like Trump? The point is, Roller Coaster Tycoon is also phenomenal so PI gets my vote in the end with a better overall list, but it was close. What in the bloody 'ell is "Theme Park World"? It sounds like a joke. Everyone I know, even non-gamers, have all played Rollercoaster Tycoon to death and talk about it with loving nostalgia and desire to replay it as one of the defining moments of their youth. I frequently discuss the game with people. Not a one of anyone I know has ever even remotely mentioned this jobber game Theme Park World. At first I lol'd at "sports games" because Blitz was the only game based on real sports... but a total stretch at that, but then realized you meant sports as in the activities being simulated in the games more so than like a Madden-esque simulation of real leagues, players, etc. I'll concede you that. Yes, when he said sports games he did indeed mean games about sports. You have unraveled the complex and intricate workings of his mind to determine that he meant exactly what he said and not something else entirely about the simulation level of the game. You are a clever man, PI.

The majority of games on both lists don't really do anything for me. Having said that, Ness does have a few more games on his list that I like more. 🤯 List WWF No Mercy (If you went with HCTP it possibly would have swayed my vote) X-Men Contra (should have went with Contra III) Unravel 2 @ness List Earthbound Mighty Number 9 Mega Man 2 Sonic Mania Super Smash Bros.

I'm glad I offended 🤯 so much. Now he knows the pain I felt when he said those deeply hurtful things about Shadow of the Colossus. I had a Fire Pro Wrestling phase. Probably put more hours into it than any other wrestling game except maybe Smackdown 2: Know Your Role. Between those two for my favourite wrestling game, but they are very different. I kinda loved setting up tournaments in Fire Pro Wrestling and having ***** matches, and trying to earn style points by wrestling a certain style of match. But at the same time, the actual gameplay is kinda clunky. Hitting top rope moves and dives is insanely difficult. Like, you have to be pixel perfect, and it's also very difficult to stun your opponent for that long. Know Your Role is a much more casual wrestling game. It's a tie. Rollercoaster Tycoon is perhaps better known, but Theme Park World was the first theme park game to land on my PC desk when I was kid. Nostalgia wins, always. I played a bit of Rollercoaster Tycoon after that but it was nowhere near as fun. Theme Park World gives you the complete theme park experience. Not just rollercoasters. All kinds of rides. Fast food joints. Other attractions. Plus you got to see the little human's faces and their actions.

If that caveat applies, then we're going have to go with something like five hours, because some games take that amount of time to get past all the setting the scene/tutorial bullshit. The stuff that 🤯 doesn't like  How much time did you spend playing Shadow of the Colossus?
