On reputation, I feel Lony has the edge but every game X-Zero happened to bank on like Yakuza 0 and Tales of Symphonia happen to be games I'm really passionate about.
OoT was also my perceived #1 draft pick going in.

Super Mario World may be my favorite Mario game. It is either that one or Mario 64. It probably doesn’t help I haven’t played a new Mario after the Gamecube released. Batman: Arkham City was fun but never finished it. Chrono Trigger I got pretty far in but near beat. I saw one of my roommates beat it though since it is one of his favorite games. Played Conker but never beat it. Enjoyed Marvel Ultimate Alliance but the person I played with only played a little. He didn’t enjoy it but I forgot why. I don’t think I every beat the final boss on DKC but the game was a lot of fun. MKX was fun for a few days with friends online but they got bored and moved on faster than me.

Wow. If anything this has taught me how few games I've played. Only 2 from each, but I guess Lony sways it with Arkham City although Ocarina is amazing.

I’ve played most on this list but never finished any of them except MVC2 as it’s just a fighting game. Solid list as far as critical acclaim goes just not many I’ve played a lot of.

If so, technically I've played that one... maybe cumulative gameplay time of an hour across a decade? I've watched my buddy play maybe another hour's worth of it on top of that. I'm not sure what's worse, Emperor giving Altered Beast a 2/10, or finding two of the greatest SNES games boring (granted DKC 2 is way better then the original but SMW is 2D Mario at his absolute best).

I think partial due to your gaming tastes matching mine so it appealing to me more. And while I sure you not liking SMW and DKC helped me greatly. Like Lony I am surprised you found them boring.

I played Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country at a time when I was probably burned out on 2D platformers. I could see myself enjoying Super Mario World because for instance Super Mario Bros. 3 is great. Not so convinced on Donkey Kong Country. Don't really like the whole aesthetic.
Altered Beast is just rubbish, in all honesty. I used to play a lot of Sega games with my buddy. We'd play the likes of Golden Axe and Streets of Rage for hours, then we'd turn on Altered Beast for something different and give it up after five minutes.

Confirmed it was OOT. Pretty sure I've taken a stab at it from the beginning. As well as popping into random middle parts. Nothing ever clicked. I did like playing as Link though in Super Smash Brothers!

Pointless to vote when it's leaning one way, but Lony's list much more appeals to me than X which really only has a few games I've played/liked. Also just gonna add that SMW is the 2nd best game with SMW in the title. I still gotta do a lets play of that second game. I forgot how great it is, minus those gay mole segments.

SMW is a worthy sequel to SMB3 which is no mean feat, but Yoshi's Island expanded on the genre making Yoshi far more capable than Mario and expanding on level design to give players an additional challenge if they wish to complete each level 100%. Graphically it demands more of the SNES and the sound design is a lot richer than SMW
