PW NEWS EPISODE 1

Ladies and gentlemen please welcome to the very first edition of PW News, where we highlight and discuss the daily happenings on this great forum. I'm your host, Ness and without wasting any time let's get into tonight's top story.

In the History forum Baker has continued to roll out new wrestlers as we edge closer and closer to finding out who exactly is PW's Favorite Wrestler. Controversy abound as Adam Cole bottoms out the top half with some going as far as to call him a stinky butt sniffer. Sparks start flying as sides were drawn. Cooler heads prevailed when someone reminded everyone this is in fact a discussion forum and we're gonna disagree. Needless to say I think we can all agree Adam Cole has done more for this business than Jerry Lawler. I'm dedsrs too.

Speaking of Baker, he continues to slip deeper into space madness as he has taken over the Dragonballin Thread to live out his deepest Fan Fic dreams where he has taken us down memory lane of cartoons of his childhood. Just between you and me I've hardly heard of any of them. I honestly think he's making them up and throwing something more mainstream every so often like when he mentioned the 90s X-Men series. Sort of like a Delirious promo where you can recognize some words, but you know it's mostly gibberish garbage. Hats off to him and 🤯 for creating a new-age split judging by the pms they are no doubt exchanging. Did any of you get a pm? I don't remember getting invited.

The VG Draft is still underway as we are deep in Round 2. CIG vs. Blindy is still a pretty close match-up and we learned something unthinkable when long-time poster Rogue revealed she had never played FF6, though it makes sense as she admits like a lot of Western fans she began with 7 and naturally you're not gonna go in reverse. In a less covered match Emperor is facing off with Lionheart . But seeing as it's not a battle of who can review Dark Phoenix better it's a lot less close than our other battle. If you haven't had a chance to vote you should check it out in the VG Section.

In Pop Culture UT is revealing the top 10 Young Adult books turned movies. There is still time to enter the Ben Stiller vs. Adam Sandler countdown. Despite claim to the contrary we have not had an official Sandler countdown yet. Perhaps with the passing of Stiller's father there will be an extra push in his direction? Be sure to submit your list soon so your voice is heard.

I agree with what Strobe said: we need a greatest posts archive or shrine. Kilgore's HHH post, Big Pete's recent tear, and now this. If not posterity, it'll at least help for Post of the Year research purposes come award season.

I've been mulling this over since I mentioned it in your eulogy post. Was even taking notes just now as a way of doing a "week in PW" over the weekend, but said fuck it and just went all-in for today.

Speaking of which, rather than just deciding like I did this year I'm thinking we just do a forum-wide countdown to see who is the 2020 Poster of the Year, with 9 runner ups.

Not a cocktease so long as you can swing earlier in the mornings on weekends before my "producer" wakes up. LOL

🤯 stealing my thunder a bit. Further proof we are brother's a different mother who at least partially share the same brain. That's what I get for taking an ill-timed walk.

Anyway, we have a new Post of the Year contender right here. I need more PW News in my life. Inject it straight into my veins. So good I will even ignore that bold-faced LIE about Jerry Lawler.

I'll take it upon myself to become the B anchor for one day only to touch on some more recent PW goodness.

@ness won't toot his own horn so I shall do it for him. His stories of Military Life and Post Office Hell in the Fan Fic section are must reads. Having spent almost 5 years as a Rural Carrier myself, the postal stories really hit home.

System's stories about indie wrestling life in the History section are also must-reads.

@ck's stories about life among the rock stars gives PW posters another reason to check out the Fan Fiction forum.

The PW Podcast game is strong with PI putting in an appearance on pduh's show and Ness appearing on System's show this week.

King of Countdowns UT is also running a fun Favorite Fictional Athlete countdown in the Sports Empire.

This is an awesome idea, especially to find cool stuff in sections I don’t normally frequent.


Especially makes knowing when the next movie countdown is a ton easier because I can’t follow that discussion thread 90% of the time

Holy shit, Baker-man with the genius idea seeds per usual of course...

I'm envisioning an Anchorman-style cast with THE Anchor (@ness), a co-anchor (Baker), a Champ/George Michael sports reporter (UT?), the weather girl meteorologist (hate to be sexist, but we need dat eye candy, so... iron maiden, Rogue, sandylea?)

Then maybe a Foreign Correspondent (System or more probably Emperor for AUSSIE NEWZ!) and a "Bruce Almighty" Man on the Streets reporter (c perhaps?)?

Shit, we could even have our own Siskel & Ebert in Lionheart & Lionheart!

Then there could be iNCY with the Business News by way of a Wall Street Journal segment.

I think this thing has legs like Stacey Kiebler! (Keibler? How to i-before-e rules apply to surnames?)
