I wake up today and i'm still proud of my country instead of having to be embarrassed. We aren't as backwards as some people made us look in the past few months
61.6 percent of voters voted yes for Marriage Equality.

The fact that it isn't universally 100% yes in every country still confuses me.

It still has to get through Parliament, but I'm sure it will.
Purely from an economic point of view, the events industry is about to explode if it passes. Put your stock in bakers and caterers.

If only we could have spent that 100 million on something constructive like safe housing for the homeless rather than on a stupid mail survey to find out something we already knew!

The fact that it isn't universally 100% yes in every country still confuses me. Because anal sex is yucky! Seriously though this objection to it is pretty bonkers. People just seem to enjoy having a group of people oppressed because they somehow draw the conclusion that if it's allowed to happen it means people are pissing on their religion. Or they just think anal is gross.

Incy is adamantly against gay marriage. I wonder how he feels?

Incy is adamantly against gay marriage. I wonder how he feels? Maybe he was one of the 61% and realized gays shouldn't be treated like lesser humans after all because it's fucking stupid. It can happen right?

Regardless of it being a huge waste of money and media coverage, the scenes yesterday were awesome and it was cool to see so many Australians finally feel welcome.

People just seem to enjoy having a group of people oppressed because they somehow draw the conclusion that if it's allowed to happen it means people are pissing on their religion. Or they just think anal is gross. I don't think it's about oppression for most, the hard leaning left will have you believe it is however. People are entitled to their views. If they are deeply religious, or traditionally very conservative, or come from an ethnic background that doesn't believe in same-sex marriage, that's ok. We are talking about an institution centuries, if not a millennia or two old after all. It's simply not a case of flicking a switch and suddenly everyone is on board, it will take generations. And in turn, we can't punish people or vilify people for being religious, or traditionally very conservative or opposing same-sex marriage, or casting people out because they voted no. I've already heard a girl on the radio ask something along the lines of " how do workplaces punish staff for opposing same-sex marriage? " well, you can't, and you won't. Because most likely, there's a good chance you're punishing someone on a religious belief. Good luck with that.

Unless they're an Islamic, Orthodox Jewish, Christian etc. baker who doesn't want to participate in which case they'll be found, targeted and likely lose their livelihood. #tolerance

I figured turning away customers tends to do that.
