Ladies and gentlemen of PW, the time has come: To blow your own trumpet To raise your standard from half mast To lift up your head that hung down To become engorged with purpose and rigor For I tell you, it is time for the anals.. Err I mean annals of PW to be written, What great feat of personal accomplishment or PW-beating trait would you like to claim? Feel free to claim the nomination for your desired category; or alternatively contest one already nominated. I would like to lay claim to the following illustrious titles: - First Covid-19 Patient
- Largest physical head circumference
- Most online electronics purchases
Now it is your turn, nominate or contest

I wonder if I can challenge you on head circumference. I got a huge dome. So much so, Wife is pretty worried about delivery if it's not gonna be a C-section.

While I wait to find a way to measure my cranium... Considering shinobimusashi is gone forever, and @fezz never seemed to find the New Settlement... I'll lay dibs on the "PW's Highest Poster" title.

- PW's Biggest Whoremonger - Only member of PW to be in a relationship with a Lifelike Silicone Synthetic Forever Companion (October is our 2 year anniversary!) - Title of Mr. Most Downloads - Only member of current PW to be a guest/host on the following PW member themed podcasts: Super no Vacancy (w/ Djm), It's In Season (w/ Djm and Raven ), The Spot Show (at least 3x), pduh 's Let's Talk Podcast (2x so far) and finally one episode of System 's FergonFiction podcast. Although to be fair all listens on my combined run is probably still less than 🤯 's one episode. Shame really so that title won't last long or even should be mine at this point. I'll think of more later. I'm sure.

Best baker. Sorry Baker. Lemon loaf was finished tonight. On the menu for tomorrow, probably cinnamon bread, or foccacia. Depends on what my son says. My dad owned a bakery when I was a kid. Started working there when I was 14, so a lot of stuff stuck.

Best baker. Sorry Baker . It's all good. If anything I am probably the worst baker on PW. My name might as well be ironic. My dad on the other hand.....That man can bake. Let's see.... -Only 1995 Courtball MVP in the world, let alone PW. -Only Oak Crest Hero on PW. Also the youngest ever and first from my department. -Highest PSAT score in my class and I'm guessing the highest PSAT score on PW as well. That's it. Those handful of sentence fragments sums up an entire life's worth of special achievements. Al Bundy laughs at me in 4 touchdowns.

I used to have a list of my PW accolades that I used to humiliate my opponents during PW Mania but sadly it was lost in the annals of time. - Most notably, First ever PW Queen of the Forum - I have met a great number of PWers in person: Froggy, Breezy, MonsooN, The Gent, Rogue, Gazza, RT, Foos, Mr. Canoe, Lony, Merle, Tim. I feel like I’m missing a couple. Old age.

She grew into it thank god. My youngest daughter was the same and she has grown into it, also literally not on the charts. I was also going to nominate myself for largest chest circumference, but figured you had me beat... :suspic: Maybe I could lay claim to largest male chest circumference... I am a barrel chested mofo.

I started research as an undergrad and got picked up at UNC CHapel Hill for a masters. I was planning to do a PhD but my health dropping out made it impossible to continue after my masters was finished. So I had 1/3rd of a dissertation done, the other two thirds of the proposal done, and the first three years of course work done, but could not finish the rest and had to leave. During my leaves my program was dissolved so cannot just return if I feel better.
Have three publications, with a dozen or so conference papers, presentations, ect. Thesis was not peer reviewed as I just do not have the energy to rework it.
So right now not an active researcher but will review stuff if they send it to me for journals. Trying to work towards my learning game when I do feel well enough to code but things not been too good lately. Met with an entirely new medical team these past two weeks so hopefully things will change and I can do stuff again, but not holding my breath.

Dealing with brain injury like CET and shit? I had a colleague during my sting in Boston who got t-boned by some girl, suffered a massive concussion and whiplash. Poor guy was so smart, funny, capable... but the injury clearly left him "off" and suffering. Fucking sucks how fragile and poorly understood our bowls of pink mush are (even with how much we DO understand about 'em). ... The PhD stuff blows my mind. How long is a dissertation? In my head I'm picturing like a thousand-page essay. Fuuuck that. And my hats off infinitely to those of you how even attempt it. I had to drop freshman year research writing classes because I couldn't even muster the wherewithal for the five-page essays we had to write. Ended up taking a community college fuck-off version of the class for the credits to bypass. Even whatever amount of writing you have to do for a Masters makes my nuts quiver (in not the good way).

Have three publications, with a dozen or so conference papers, presentations, ect. Interesting how our definitions of publications differ. I published three papers, two conference papers and one technical workshop or something. Plus a bunch of other presentations. I consider these publicatons, but never had a journal publication. We were planning to write one after my thesis defense and during my correction period but I just didn't have the motivation for it anymore. My thesis is 158 pages, not including appendices etc. That's definitely on the short side. Most computer science theses are 200-300 pages, but I have come across monstrously long ones, mostly the theoretical kind with 50 pages proofs. That sort of thing is common in mathematics research, but can creep into computer science as well. I still have my Masters thesis saved down. 52 pages, which feels like nothing, even though it is a whole third of my PhD thesis

Just looked at my thesis and it was 150 pages with a 300 page supplement of graphs. When they put it on the UNC website I gave them two options, one graphic with all the graphs that were pretty damn small but could be zoomed on or the 300 page supplement. They picked the graphic. I still wish I could have included what I actually used which was an interactive plot to just see the exact graph of interest. My thesis was longer than 75 percent of the dissertations in my program. Two programs I talked to said they would consider taking it for my dissertation. I would not have accepted that as the method I used was purposely flawed as the I planned to show in my dissertation. IT was better than what we had been doing but not the objective best measure, and I mapped out how to systematically prove it.
Full paper I mapped out for my dissertation would have been 350 pages. When published would have been expanded to 500 pages and released as a book with a supplement site to host the program I was using for plots. Then would pull out 7 papers worth of stuff for peer review.
Research was perfect for a dissertation as it was on subset selection methods for high variable sets of data and after the papers showing the usage of each different class of methods make a case for an omnibus reporting system to just run all the different analyses at once and report the full results then synthaze what the full results mean. Should not have been a radical idea, but it is as usually you only pick one method and only evaluate that single method. Doing this would show how the results of the analysis change based on assumptions made.

The work on my thesis turned half of my hair white. Feel like I aged 30 years during it. Until the sleep apnea fucked up my ability to work with numbers, I really pushed what I could do to the absolute limits I think and really was onto something I think that could have seriously helped my field. My notes went to one of my committee members who is following up some of it at least even if he is not sold on my main premise of changing the way we do analyses in psychology and education.
