PW NEWS EPISODE 8

Bit of a slow news day here at PW. Sure you have the usual countdown updates, people are missing and ho-hum discussion regarding Bayley's Karen haircut. Instead we here in the newsroom want to take this time to promote the future PW event, 100 countdowns in the making.

The 92nd countdown, Ben Stiller vs. Adam Sandler is about to go underway. Fans want it to go to 15 and really should, but it could just be a tight 10. Turnout was overwhelming and we managed to crack 20. Hats off to you guys, but I want you to look towards the end. We have a few more in the meantime, but think about how it's going to end. The finale will be contested with a TOP 100 MOVIES OF ALL TIME. Now you don't have to submit 100, but I would hope at minimum you do 30.

And while #100 is still several countdowns away it is time for you to get started if you haven't already. Don't ignore #93 (Films of the Decade: 2000-09) but it's time to start those rough drafts. I think I speak for everyone when I say we want this to be the biggest turnout in PW History. Maybe we can double the current record. Top 100 is not something you can just half-ass, so you really need to start working on it as we speak. First start listing your favorite movies and then over the course of the next several weeks as these other countdowns occur... start looking at the past countdowns via UT 's profile page so you can be reminded of films that have been discussed and not miss a single entry.

I think I speak for everyone (doing that a lot today) on PW when I say the last thing we wanna see during the reveals is some braindead retard posting that X would've been their #1 had they submitted a list. Nobody's got time for them baby tears during the Final Season of Pop Culture Countdown. We know what the popular picks are gonna be: Goodfellas, Saving Private Ryan, JURASSIC PARK, Departed, etc. but that doesn't mean you should treat this as a spectator sport. Get your list ready to be submitted once we start #99. I won't be hammering it in your head each broadcast, but I'm not gonna let you forget either.

It's hard to believe as we reach 3 years that we've managed to get this far. It may not be the end of the countdown craze here in PW, but treat Part 100 as if it was. Don't be a wank pheasant... get your list in when it's time.

Goes without saying but these PW News articles are fantastic @ness. What an idea. Some of the stuff listed here I have no idea about, it's free advertising!

Seriously, @ness, let's talk. We need to figure out a way to optimize your revenue streams for PW News. Sure, there's ad sales. But I'm thinking merchandise might be where the really big bux are at.

Top 100 movies is going to be wild.

I've been thinking on this a lot the past few days...

Pretty sure the paper version of Mario might make my personal Top 100 movies list.

Yeah, Sandler/Stiller is up next so you have 10 days to submit for the decade one. That's like 1 wiki year a day!

 Pi, I'm the creator of the original Nerdery at PW. I built it once. I don't have it in me to build again. That's Lony 's job. 

And as much as I like to take credit for everything, Foos is right, he and Bob Dole fought to get us The Nerdery.

It's sad not having one. Those were the days.
