I wanted to wait until the monumental 10th edition, but today I'm going to experiment with adding a special voice-over of the news (not a direct reading) for those PW members that are in fact blind and cannot read the thread. Don't ask me why they're here or how they're getting to the thread, that's not the kinda questions I'm here to answer.

Anyways it's time once again for PW to come aboard the hooooooooooo train to join me as we discuss the day that was here on this forum. A little more to discuss this time around so I'm just gonna get right to it. I'm like the lifthill on Intimatior 305 I get straight to it.

Our first story of the night is difficult to report, but it must be done. Give me a second as I start up the "Owen Voice." We recently lost a PW member in the past 24 hours. You may have noticed some threads feature posts from "deleted member" and it pains me to have to report that 🤯 caused Cereal Killer to delete his account. It was either the second victim on his Forced Retirement Tour or, no that is the ONLY outcome. Pi did it! Not sure why they gotta be all dramatic about it instead of just quietly leaving, but perhaps as a way of determining how much they're missed. I'm considering deleting my account too, but only when the likes dry up. It's either me or the Angie as the last one standing. We'll see who wins this hand!

And as much as I didn't wanna report that story, I definitely DO want to report the next one. Remember how Baker was talking about these old, obscure toons and I claimed he was making them up? He hasn't elaborated yet, but he admitted he did. Shoulda known better since he didn't feature any pictures. Although the "no google results" is dubious at best. If you spelled it as TAIL you should've gotten results for the shounen anime Fair Tail and if you google "fairy tale cartoon" you actually get porn results... which you'd think it would be the other way around. I think this cements Ness as the greatest poster in PW (Proboards) History. My claims about Super Mario RPG are now fact given my new-found credibility!

I guess Corona-Chan's Madness is over because comics are back in session. Lony posted a long-awaited "Whatcha Gettin" thread in Pop Culture. Slim pickings this week, like one of those months with a 5th Wednesday, but they're back. How I dunno... I assume comic shops are open again? With drive-thrus and faceshields? Perhaps they'll wear Iron Man masks and only take credit card payments through Doc Ock arms? That or we're all just digital now, so yeah.

Now for some Countdown Updates. In Favorite Wrestler we saw Okada, Raven and Arn Anderson debut in the late 40s. The more telling aspect of the discussion is Big Pete admitting he posts on another board. These hoes really ain't loyal. The Stiller/Sandler battle has begun with Sandler getting the first shot in with Click, which KING KID put as his #1. Clearly wearing facemasks all day has stopped oxygen getting to his brain. Luckily for the rest of us it will be a top 15 result showing. Which means you may have over a week (depending on how many certified fresh offerings haven't shown up in past countdowns) to get your Best of the Decade 00-09 lists in. Don't delete that pm you send either as you'll likely reuse a lot of those movies for the TOP 100.

And looks like we have our VG Draft Final with System facing off with cig . Sorry HBO this is the REAL Battle of the Bastards. Hater of Super Mario RPG vs. the Guy that threw Rodney out on the streets. No matter who wins, we all lose.

Can't wait to listen to the voice-over in full! Love this new feature. I started it, but I'm sitting next to Wife, and she asked what you meant about losing a poster and the swept out to sea thing... so then I had to pause and explain how CK left (which led into PW's unfortunate history of poster suicides) and share the news story about Shad saving his son from a riptide only to go MIA himself. That got the pregnancy hormone tears streaming, and so I figure it's just BEST FOR BUSINESS to listen to the full thing on my headphones later.

Also, re: chasing off another poster... it's the dark side to PW's Hype Man. For everything thing I "like", just know it's another grain of sand being added to the pile. Eventually, when the pile becomes too big to bear, I gotta purge by chasing someone else off. The Jekyll to my otherwise happy-go-lucky Hyde. Here's hoping by the time I've chased off my next victim, I've fully established myself as the "Legend Killer" Randy Orton of PW. Fuck this Angie nonsense!

Anyway... I can't wait for more scoops on Baker-man's Fairy Tale swerve job. So random, so funny, so fun, so intriguing. In a thread full of great posts and great memories, this swerve job might be the best thing to happen in Dragon Ballin' & Cartoon Groovin'.

I’ve always thought it was pronounced cig as in cigarette also.
Had no idea it was 4 “chon” either.

Also I keep seeing people pronouncing Naruto” as “Nah-Roo-To” which they only way I’ve ever heard it pronounced..and the comments are filled with people bitching about said pronunciation??.

I need the fair & balanced PW News to set the record straight.

🤯 clarify something for us. Is it pronounced "pie" or "pee eye?" I feel Pete recently got to the bottom of this mystery in another thread but I forget the findings and don't feel like looking for it. Fwiw I've always pronounced it pee eye, as in Magnum.

Everybody should listen to the audio version of Nessie's Newsdesk. It's even better than the written version. I legit LOLed a few times and give it a 7/10- my highest recommendation.
