Dave Meltzer @davemeltzerwon · 15m Hana Kimura just passed away. There are no other details at the moment but this is a death that can be blamed on the cruelty of social media and it's a subject that really needs addressing.
At such a young age. Man. People have to really watch what they say about some of these people, you never know what they are going through. What a shame.
There were pictures of her cut via self harm and with what was a suicide note so tread with cauction over on Twitter that were posted earlier before she deleted them.

Absolutely horrible and tragic news. Just another sad example of the dangers of our social media culture, and to certain extent problems within the Japnese culture when it comes to being able to seek help with mental health problems. She was a really promising talent with a lot of her career left ahead of her, I'm almost certain she would have gotten a shot with a company bin US in the future as well. Just sad.

I saw the wreddit thread earlier today that was talking about her tweets from the past 24 hrs and although I didn’t see them, I read they were very graphic and sad. But someone updated and said they were on their way to her and she was ok. She even posted an apology on twitter, I’m pretty sure.
Couple hours later she’s dead. Just brutal.
I was only starting to discover her work recently and it’s sad that she’s gone now.

I came in here hot with a typical 🤯 KwikTayk™ before reading the OP. Then reading the OP made my stomach turn. In particular the part about publicizing her self harm in photo/video format. Man, that sucks. Mental/emotional health issues suck. Have no idea who this girl was, and for whatever reason just assume Japanese people are way more well-composed than Westerners (despite samurai hari kari history)... And/but still, this is disturbing and sad news. First the Fink heartbreak. Then Shad on such a devastating way. No this? 2020 is shaping up to be a crushing year for pro wrestling deaths.

Wow this story is fucking awful and just get worse. Kairi Sane said when she saw the posts that her and Io called Jungle Kyona (Hana's mom) and her mom rushed over to find her dead.
This seems to have stemmed from Hana's appearance on a reality TV show, where the producers gave her the villains edit and people started to send in hate mail.
Goes without saying Stardom is a fucking wreck now.

Not only that but she is half Japanese/half Indonesian so supposedly it's frowned upon in Japan by some of the out of times nationalist old cultured folks over there that your mixed. I remember Yu Darvish who is now in the MLB is half Japanese/half Persian and had to conceal his true full name which is Sefat Farid Yu Darvish due to the potential backlash that a Japanese star pitcher isn't full 100% Japanese blood if I recall. I read some of the disgusting tweets sent to her telling her to kill herself, pretty disgusting and vile shit and it should be looked into as a crime, though I am not sure how serious of a crime it is in Japan.

I watched the the episode that triggered people. It was her knocking a guy hat off after he ruined over her main ring gear she has been wearing for like a year. She did not even slap the guy like some news sites are reporting, just flipped his hat off.
Never knew Asuka got the same type of hate before coming to WWE.

I'm bemused by the fact that anyone could end up a villain on Terrace House - I watched a season of it (not the one she was on admittedly) and it was the most genteel, polite reality show you could possibly see.
This is just a terribly sad story.

I really liked the acknowledgements that Excalibur and Mauro made on their respective shows about cyber bullying and Hana's death. Ranallo's especially holds a lot of weight considering what he has had to go through.

Japan is hunting down the trolls who bullied Hana. Good to see some justice may come of this. The country seems to be taking this very seriously.

Not familiar with the law, but what can they really even do? I know that one girl that convinced her boyfriend to "do it" when he was on the edge in the US, but can anything be done about internet trolls?

Except that one time they Pearl Harbored us. But everyone makes mistakes from time to time. What's tough to stomach tough is their conservative stance on weed; i.e., no gummies for me if I were to expat there.

I'm just now reading about this thanks to Meltzer ridiculously comparing it to the Ospreay situation and its brutally depressing. I remember watching some of her mom's matches back in the day.. She was gorgeous and seemed like a kind soul. 9 years younger than me; too damn young.
I hate people sometimes. Use that energy and drive for something positive, rather than viciously tearing down someone whom you know nothing about or have never even met. It's sadly ironic that these people were the ones who were truly despicable human beings but proceeded to levy that very claim on Hana. RIP H.K.

Yeah, there is definitely something about this whole situation that made it a bigger tragedy than most in the wrestling business. I think the fact that people pushed her past her breaking point for something so small, just really drives whole the unfairness of her passing away. Social media is a shambles when people use it for such terrible motives.
