I know there's no getting around Roman beating Brock. That's a given. That said... could you buy Miz as a main event/Universal Champion contender at this point. He's come a long way since his original world title win. Him as IC Champ has gotta go!

While I doubt he's ever going to be THE GUY, I think he will win the universal or World strap sometime in 2018. If he goes to Smackdown especially I could see him being the top heel and getting a decent run with the belt.

Absolutely. There will always be those people that will be Miz haters, but I believe that he is one of a very select few that can talk people into the arena in this day in age. Even though people love and respect him now (FINALLY) he still generates heel heat and he is someone that people would pay to see get beat. I personally feel that that is something that you don't have very often in this business anymore.

If they're willing to put the strap on Jinder Mahal, there are exactly zero reasons to avoid putting a world title on Miz again.
He's gotten better in the ring since his first run as WWE Champion
He's still an excellent talker and probably always will be.
As Icon said, he's a heel that people actually want to see get beat up. It's changing a little as more people are jumping on the bandwagon that i've been driving since 2010 if not earlier but he's still pretty hated.
I want to see him break the record for longest ever IC Champ first though, he's less then 100 days away from breaking the record set by Pedro Morales

Fucking yes.
It's a crime Miz didn't get a "legit" main event at Mania.
I'd vote for Miz/Punk for the title instead of Rock/Cena 2. That once in a lifetime rematch didn't need the belt.

Oncall, I am with you 100% I was all alone on what I called The MizTrain way back in the day when he was wearing the awful baggy black ring shorts This guy is a true success story that may in fact one day actually get all of the respect that he deserves.

I hope so because Honky Tonk Man not getting a world title run is a crime in its self

So I'm a super Miz lover, so don't hate on me too much for throwing this out there, but...
Does anyone else think his ring name might be a factor in holding him back? I feel like Mike Mizanin, with "Miz" as a nickname at best, might've gotten him further to date... Or at least treated more seriously.
Then again, having qualms against his ring name I guess just makes him that much more effective as a heel.
Fuck, I love Miz. The past 7 years should've been all about Miz feuding with Cena, Punk, and Bryan, and maybe even Rock.

Name another IC champ that headlined msg multiple times and sold it out. He mainevented msg, Boston and Philly many times when hogan wasn’t around and when the WHC was vacated. Honky was no ring general but he put butts in the seats because people like you always wanted to see him loose.

I have always loved Miz. I think he's best with someone to play off of like John Morrison, Alex Riley, Maryse or now the Miztourage. I think he's a great heel and I think when he's allowed he can really show what he's made of in the ring. I think last night on RAW was proof of that. I think he's been the only one in recent memory to really make the IC Title mean anything and like Oncall I wanted to see him set the record but...Roman.
I loved his first run as The Guy and I'd love to see it again. I think he has proved himself in all facets and there are very few who have the total package like he does. He has helped elevate titles and careers. I mean what were Bo Dallas and Alex Jr doing before Miz? I think he's a team player and deserves a good solid run with the Universal Title or WWE Title again. And I think at the end of his career he could be a great commentator.

By the time he hands it up, Miz is gonna prove himself to be the John Cena of the IC Title.
