I was going to say trying to post all those numbers Gretzky had must have discombobulated the forum hence the different themes when I logged on. 1. Wayne Gretzky 2. Kareem Abdul Jabbar 3. Wilt Chamberlain 4. Mario Lemieux 5. Bill Russell 6. Shaquille O'Neal 7. Mark Messier 8. Hakeem Olajuwon 9. Jim Otto 10. Jim Langer Gretzky was an easy number 1, his hockey IQ was on another level which made him the best playmaker of all time. Jim Otto and Jim Langer were nods to the great centers of yesteryear in the NFL.

Gretzky was my #1. His stats are ridiculous and he won a bunch of championships. Ask 3 NBA fans who the GOAT center is and you're likely to get 3 different answers. Plus few people will make the case for any of them over Jordan as the GOAT. Yet the vast majority of hockey fans will tell you Gretzky is the hockey GOAT. They don't call him The Great One for nothing.
1. Wayne Gretzky (#1) 2. Wilt Chamberlain (#5) 3. Kareem Abdul Jabbar (#2) 4. Shaquille O'Neal (#3) 5. Bill Russell (#6) 6. Mario Lemieux (#4) 7. Hakeem Olajuwon (#8) 8. David Robinson 9. Mike Webster(#7) 10. Patrick Ewing (#10)
No love for The Admiral? I have him a notch below The Dream but think he's pretty clearly a notch above Ewing. Won two championships. Put up big numbers. Also starred in commercials/PSAs which aired during Conan and Exosquad telling kids to stay in school and not do drugs. Anybody else remember this?

David Robinson was my friend in schools favorite player , while I was on the Penny/Shaw train.
Used to be able to fleece his ass with trading cards any time I got a Robinson.

1.Wayne Gretsky 2.Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 3.Mario Lemiuex 4.Bill Russell 5.Dermotti Dawson 6.Shaquiile O'Neal 7.Hakeem Olajuwon 8.Mike Webster 9.Dwight Stephenson 10.Mark Messier
Gretzky was my easy #1. Out of everyone on this list he has by far the strongest GOAT argument. Gretzky saw the ice like no one before or since, he literally was 3 steps ahead of everyone else out there. Only other athlete I've seen with that level of natural instinct in his sport is Lawrence Taylor.
Dermotti Dawson, Mike Webster and Dwight Stephenson are IMO the 3 greatest NFL centers of all-time, with Dermotti topping the list. So I had to put all 3 of them on there.
The NBA centers are self-explanatory and I believe I got them in the right order. I could argue Hakeem over Shaq, especially since Hakeem absolutely schooled Shaq head-to-head, but in the end Shaq just had to much hardware.
