Yeah...go Raiders. Man, they shoot themselves in the foot. Their receivers are horrible. Look for Hoyer in the 4th if the Patriots are up by 20.

Petermans debut has been trash. 4 interceptions, 3 in the first quarter. I benched Keenan Allen in my money league for Corey Davis and I hate it. Bills ain't finishing above .500, let alone making the playoffs. At this point, where they're going now, they're worse than even the Browns.

The Bills overexceeded with their 5 wins and hot start. Benjamin is probably going to miss a lot of time, possibly the season. They're finished. They just played themselves out of a top 3-5 pick though with their hot start.

My daughter and I argued today over whether I really could smell how bad the Chiefs stunk today. She’s a very literal child.

Crazy that the Giants just beat the Chiefs. Not only beat them, but kept them out of the end zone. Ever since the Broncos lost to the Giants they've been getting their asses kicked left and right. Hope the same thing dosen't happen to the Chiefs. I was hoping they would be able to make some noise in the playoffs this year.

Was messing around with the ESPN playoff predictor machine deal and Texans have a strong chance of making the final wild card spot, possibly even the 5th seed, even if they lose 2 more games and finish 8-8, so they are still very much in it. It all pretty much hinges on the Baltimore game, if we lose that one it's going to be pretty tough to get in, we would need a total collapse by the Ravens down the stretch. So it'll be do or die in Baltimore next Sunday.
Tom Savage struggled badly early on today but he really started to find himself there towards the end. Defense really improved, Clowney and Mckinney really showed up today. Clowney is such a fucking monster. D'Onte Foreman looked to find himself before ending his season with injury, he was playing really good on that drive where he scored the TD and got hurt. I feel like the Andre Johnson stuff was a much needed boost to morale for the team. We went from the bottom of the "In The Hunt" playoff picture to leap frogging a couple of teams, the teams ahead of us on that column don't look too good either, I think we can do it.

What a pathetic and ugly performance from this Packers offense today , how Hundley could come out at home and play so terrible after looking like he finally somewhat turned a corner the week before is beyond me. Those first two interceptions where some of the worst plays/throws I've ever seen by a Packers quarterback - like no explanation as to what he seen to make try to make those plays. I didn't see the last one because I'd have had enough at that point but I'm sure it was just as terrible.
He holds the ball way too long and doesn't benefit from it like Rodgers and isn't smart enough to get rid of it. The stupid ass decided he was going to hold onto the ball for 9 seconds and take a sack while going for it on 4th and 5. You're biggest football novices know that the one thing you NEVER do is take a sack on 4th down , at the very least you throw it up and see if one of your guys can make a play. Speaking of that , Davante Adams has become the best receiver on the team - Jordy is still good but his reliance on his and Aarons chemistry is too plain to see while Davante just keeps making plays when given the chance. He's been one of the few joys to watch play this past month or so.
And for once we can't blame the defense , they played their asses off after Baltimore spent most of the game with great field position of 60 yards or less. Then again Joe Flacco and the Ravens are terrible as well so take all that with a grain of salt - it was just nice to see this defense not get clowned up and down the field by a terrible quarterback like has happened so many times in the past.
I don't know how Ravens fans continue to watch Flacco throw it three yards on 3rd and 10 or more. I'd fucking lose my mind if I had to watch that every week. He had to of done it at least 12 times yesterday.

Even though the Falcons won; thanks to Blair Walsh being the worst clutch kicker of all time; they fucking blow. They literally almost gave that game away. They do not know how to close a game for nothing.

Another fumble by Savage, enough is enough Besides Watson, the Texans have had a horrible history with quarterbacks. Matt Schaub had a 90 passer rating during his years in Houston. Also how have you not worked out how to quote properly yet?

If Houston has bad luck with QBs than I wonder just what the Jets and Brown's would qualify under.
I'd kill for a Matt Schaub. Though the Jets threw away their Matt Schaub away in Pennington for the teasing wanker.
When you've seen old azz bums like Favre, 05 Testaverde, Quincy Carter, Vick and Fitztragic start for you, come the fuck on now. Mark Brunell nearly got a start. McCown is a tier better than those jokers.
Sanchez, Clemens, Petty and Geno seem like godsend.
Mcelroy is in his own fucking tier of shit. Dude is like on 4th college football team duties on ESPN/SEC network. HACKenburg is going to join him soon enough.

I still love David Carr(2002-2006) and have so many fond memories of him from those early years, I was so into that team and pulling so hard for them to develop into a contender, I was sure they would break through in 2005, they looked like they were going in that direction in 2004, it was the most wrong I've ever been in my fucking life. Carr had a lot of fire in his belly and one hell of an arm on him. I get such a kick out of watching Derek Carr play because he reminds me so much of his big brother, I believe under different circumstances David could have had similar success that Derek has had. David genuinely seemed like he was fired up to play for the Texans. This play is still one of my favorite plays in NFL history that always gives me goosebumps when I rewatch it. Something else about Carr was just how tough he was, dude took such a beating that first year, I believe he set a new record for most times sacked that year but at the same time he was one of only 4 or 5 quarterbacks(could be less than that, I forget) who started all 16 games for his team that year. He was a tough fiery rookie, he was a character too. I loved the shit out of him. David Carr's Greatest Hits: September 8th, 2002: Gets a lifetime pass from me for his very first career start, the first Texans game the 19-10 win over Dallas. First Texans touchdowns ever scored, it was exciting times, just try to imagine how hyped I was after this game, you cant, it was through the roof. He got a lot of help from the defense that night but he still threw 2 really great touchdown passes, 2 of the sweetest touchdowns ever scored in the 16 year Texans history. Not-So-Fun fact: Carr was sacked 40 times in the Texans first 6 games. October 13th, 2002: This was the game against the Drew Bledsoe Buffalo Bills week 6 at home, excellent game that I remember well even though we lost. This was another game where Carr took a beating, the official box score says he was sacked 5 times but I remember him being sacked more than that, he took a lot of late hits that my memory Mendella'd into sacks maybe. Carr's first pass of the game was an 81 yard bomb. Carr led another great drive early in the second quarter making some great throws on the run, taking us right down the field for a 26 yard touchdown pass to put us up 10-3. Then he ran in a 17 yard touchdown to put us up 17-3 before the end of the half. I thought we were on our way to our 2nd victory of the season but Bledsoe led the Bills back, eventually they took a 31-24 lead with. We got the ball back with 3:48 left to play, down by 7, Carr led us down the field on like a 70 yard drive. It all came down to a 4th & 7 play with around 1 minute left in the play, Carr broke a 14 yard run and put us on Buffalo's 14 yard line with like 50 seconds left to play. He couldn't punch it in to tie the game up, we lost, but we was right there in the thick of the battle in the end, watching this game I had a similar feeling to some of Deshaun Watson's games this year, I just really thought there was something special about the guy. 2003 was when the beatings started to take their toll on David Carr, he missed some time that year with injuries. Tony Banks came in to play and he actually played pretty damn decent. We went 2-1 in the three games that Banks started in 2003 and that loss was a deep overtime last second loss to the eventual Super Bowl champs that year the Patriots. Banks completed 59.8% of his passes for 5 TDs and 3 ints. I think maybe with 20/20 hindsight we should have taken Julious Peppers with that first round pick in 2002 and just rode with Tony Banks for the first 2 years, then take a franchise QB in the 2004 draft. Dave Ragone also started 2 games in 2003 and I remember this dude sucked bad. September 26th, 2004: 2004 was such a fun year, even though we finished 7-9 it really looked like this team and David Carr were on their way to being legit. This game was in Kansas City in Arrowhead, week 3 of the 2004 season, an excellent 4th quarter comeback win on the road. We were down 21-14 when Carr led us on a 68 yard drive to tie the game, hitting a HUGE 20 yard pass on 3rd & 17 that saved the game. Very next play 37 yards to Andre Johnson, two plays later 10 yard touchdown pass to tie the game 21-21. Then Carr leads a drive from our own 27 yard line in the final 2 minutes of the game to set up the game winning field goal, Texans won 24-21. The next week we finally won back to back games as Carr had a 108.6 passer rating in a 30-17 win over the Raiders. At this time Carr had this thing going that he was not going to cut his hair until we won back to back games, after we did he just kept growing it out. October 10th, 2004: This was my favorite David Carr game, week 5 of the 2004 season, we were 2-2 looking to secure our very first ever winning record hosting the 2-1 Duante Culpepper/Randy Moss Vikings in one hell of a fucking game, this was a damn shoot out, maybe one of the most underrated games in NFL history. Vikings went up 21-0 quick after 3 Culpepper touchdown passes. The very next drive for the Texans after Minnesota went up 21-0 Carr came out like a fucking madman leading the Texans on a 94 yard scoring drive, this was maybe the best he ever looked, 27 yard pass to Bruener, 22 yard pass to Gaffney the very next play, later the drive stalled out on 3rd and 8 and he hits Andre Johnson for 36 yards to put us on the Vikes 4 yard line, he hits Andre for a 2 yard touchdown to cut the lead 21-7 in the third quarter. We end up scoring another TD early in the 4th to cut it to 21-14 but then Culpepper hits Randy Moss for a fucking 50 yard bomb to go up 28-14 with 6:58 left in the game. Carr leads the Texans downfield for another scoring drive, hits an 11 yard touchdown pass on 4th down to cut the Vikings lead to 28-21 with 3:15 left in the game. We get the ball back and Carr hits Andre Johnson for 22 yard touchdown pass to tie the game up 28-28 and put it into overtime. Culpepper hits another 50 yard bomb in overtime to win it for the Vikings 34-28. This was an amazing game, I really thought I was watching the next Steve Young/Jerry Rice duo developing right before my very eyes, again, very similar to the feeling I got watching Deshaun Watson this year. This was Andre Johnson's coming out party, Carr pulled us back from a 21-0 deficit to put it into overtime, he threw for 372 yards and 3 touchdown passes with 0 interceptions, his rating for that game was 116.4 The very next week we finally beat the sorry sell out Titans for the very first time, then we beat the Jaguars the very next week to achieve our first every winning record at 4-3(we had won 4 out of 5 games there from week 3 to week 7, with the only loss being the overtime thriller against the Vikings, so we were really close to going on a 5 game win streak). So you had about a 6 week span in 2004 where these Texans with David Carr looked like they were really getting their shit together, over that six week span we went 4-2, Carr's stats during that 6 week span in 2004? Pretty damn impressive, completed 119 of 184 passes(64.67%) for 1,688 yards(averaging 281 yds per game) with 9 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions, with a passer rating of 103.7. Man I really don't know what happened from there, I'm still trying to figure it out really. Some people say Carr got spoiled and complacent, some say he was a terrible leader that had little to no relationship with "The Boys" instead he was always around his dad even in the most awkward moments, his dad was always around him like a manager and it was detrimental to his relationship with his team mates, some guys maybe lost respect for him over a period of time. Some also say he was just a 9-5 guy that wouldn't put in the extra work that was needed to succeed as an NFL QB. He damn sure had the talent, I seen it with my own 2 eyes. Holy shit I don't know what happened, this turned into a book real quick. I intended to do a quick writeup on Texans QB history but spent the whole post on David Carr. Now I'm exhausted.

On the day that the Texans signed Matt Schaub and had that big press conference in 2007, the very next day they cut David Carr and I think he really did die a little, on the inside. That had to hurt. At the time I wasn't very excited about Schaub, I felt like they should have tried a little harder with Carr in 2007 but Kubiak had his mind made up that he just wasn't his guy, probably some of the leadership issues and his 9 to 5 attitude was a big part of it though. He didn't play bad in that last year in 2006, he actually improved his accuracy that year.
It did get to a point where he was damaged goods though, I think LT's theory is a sound one but I would say he didn't really get shaken up until the 2005 season, he took even more of a beating that year than his rookie year(he broke his own 2002 record for being sacked in 2005, 68 sacks that year I believe is still the NFL record), he played his best during that 6 game stretch in 2004 that I mentioned above(interesting follow up, he really fell off over the remaining 9 games that year, 57.20% completion with only 1,614 yds, 7 td and 9 int for rating of 70.4). Something else that probably threw him off in 2005 was the firing of Chris Palmer as OC early in the season, by all accounts the Texans were a huge mess behind the scenes in 2005, there was a lot of drama between the coaching staff and front office, Andre Johnson in a recent interview said that he was miserable here in 2005 and got to the point where he would dread getting up to go to practice or show up for games, that's how bad it was. Then in 2006 we turned over the coaching staff and he had to try to learn a new offense.
I think a lot of the blame goes to Dom Capers and Chris Palmer, they just were not the right guys for the scenario we had at lift off here in 2002-2004. Capers as overrated because of the all star team of free agents he won with when Carolina launched in 1995-1996, we had nowhere near that level of talent and experience when we launched in 2002. I wonder how Carr's career would have played out if he was drafted by Washington instead, playing under Joe Gibbs from 2004 to 2006 with excellent offensive line(Jansen, Samuels) with Clinton Portis and Santana Moss(and Chris Cooley was an excellent tight end). If I'm rebooking it I'd have Texans draft Julious Peppers with #1 pick, going with Tony Banks in 2002-2003 and trying to get Carson Palmer and/or Mark Brunell in 2004.
