That's as clickbaity a title as you'll get, but it's true. There's a link to the actual lawsuit in the above article, if you are at all interested.

A California sex addict is suing the video streaming platform Twitch for $25 million after claiming that the site’s overabundance of “scantily clad gamers” have caused him to injure his penis, according to the lawsuit.

In the legal document filed at a Santa Clara County court on June 15, San Francisco’s Erik Estavillo claimed that the Amazon subsidiary had “subjected him to overly suggestive and sexual content from various female streamers.”

To cure the “Twitch” in his pants, the self-proclaimed sex addict reportedly resorted to using a Fleshlight to masturbate while watching the salacious gamers, which resulted in him “chaffing” his penis every day.

The plaintiff’s randy pastime was “extremely painful” and caused him redness and mild infections that forced him to use “Neosporin on his tip to prevent necrosis,” per the 56-page document.

Estavillo alleges in the transcript he even once ejaculated on his PC monitor, which caused his gaming system to short-circuit and resulted in a fire that temporarily caused his apartment to black out.

And he apparently couldn’t block out the streamers’ siren song as there was “no way for the plaintiff to filter streams he’d like to watch based on gender, male or female,” per the lawsuit. Therefore, the plaintiff was forced to “choose a game and/or category to watch, with thumbnails showing these scantily clad women, alongside men, of being the only streaming channels available to him.”

What do you think? Is this guy a lunatic or is Twitch really too raunchy for nerds to handle?

Personally I think he's a genius. I'm gonna buy some beer, become an alcoholic, and sue all the supermarkets, pubs, and bars for enabling my life-destroying mental illness.

Two extremely good questions.

The US is renown for being very litigious so the latter doesn't surprise me at all.

However, the former probably speaks to the old saying different strokes for different folks. I'd imagine there's some pleasure in watching these candid streams where women are just talking about their life instead of trying to get you to spend tokens or whatever porn currency there is. There is Twitch currency as well, but as far as I know, they're usually just hanging out and thanking everybody who subscribes to their channel and reacting to their messages. I guess that sense of intimacy, normalcy and vouyerism gives them a great sense of gratification.

Personally I think it's creepy AF but I believe kink shaming has also been banned and I don't want to get cancelled.

Pretty much this. The amount of uber popular streamers on twitch that are just attractive women in their early 20s going about their day or playing video games is astonishing. So much of twich is just thirsty gamer dudes and teenage boys.

My daughter got big into watching video game streams for a little while so I tried to get into it myself to understand it. I don't understand it. And after subscribing to a few of the more popular twitch and YouTube channels, I still don't.

One channel was hilarious. It's a girl that build her own cosplay costumes and streams the process. Super interesting if you're into that. But I want to know how many of her subscribers are only there because she wears low cut shirts and makes sure her breasts are in the frame of her overhead camera while she's working.

That don’t make the same bank but I’ve even seen male Youtubers sit there and livestream with stuff like “Donate $1000 and I’ll eat a chip with hot sauce on it” and they make it within
10-20 minutes.

This guy is my hero. He basically files all these lawsuits with fee waivers and subpoenas celebrities. Since he represents himself it all costs nothing. The lawsuit is stupid but as to what they wear why they game. I think a lot of people who are gaming alone don't wear much clothing. Pretty sure everyone has atleast once has woken up and played a game in just their underwear or what ever they slept in. I am not sure all would broadcast to the world to see but playing games in little clothing isn't uncommon.

OMG I just read the actual lawsuit and it is great. His complaint is basically that because of these girls breaking Twitch's TOS he cannot help but use an electric fleshlight until his dick is raw leading to an apartment fire one time when he ejaculated onto his gaming system causing it to catch fire.

The people he is naming are notorious for not playing games. The only one of the people named that primarily is a video gamer player on their stream ironically is Sasha Grey. The rest of the girls are chat, IRL, art, nude body painting or ASMR.
