Since you asked....the highest ranked wrestler last time to not crack the Top 100 this time was 🤯 favorite Dean Ambrose. He went from #31 to #123. Then you have the Road Warriors going from #22 to #143-144 due to me not allowing tag teams this time around.

Which reminds me.....how are you not going to submit a list for your own countdown?!? I do understand not wanting to be influenced by other posters though. One time I made the mistake of lingering on a list for a countdown I ran. Ever since that one faux pas I've been sure to do a list either before opening it up to the public, or very soon after voting opened.

I agree with @ness's concept of that to be a favorite you have to be the best, and you're not the best if you've never main-evented Mania. Hence, Brock Lesnar is EVERYONE'S favorite.

Pretty bad. The sentimental stuff just did not work for me at all. Nolan and Kubrick are both pretty cold filmmakers and Kubrick was sensible enough to not attempt and fail at sentimentality.

If Nolan made 2001, he'd have Dave explaining some handwavey stuff about the monolith and evolution during the Stargate sequence, taking away the mystery, the fear, the awe.

Interstellar was visually impressive, but 2001 is just so spectacular with so many memorable shots. It would be a tremendous watch, even with no sound.












But then you add in the sound and what an experience it is. The use of classical music - the joyous, the epic and the discordant - and the incredible sound design.

This is one of the most intense, unsettling scenes in film history. Like the whole film, to be watched in a dark room, with the sound very loud. Horror films wish they could invoke the feelings that this scene can.



HAL having more personality and emotion than all the humans was a great choice and his deactivation scene might actually be the most sentimental Kubrick scene and it works fantastically.
