I think War Games would flop on the main roster

God dang, was this one heck of a show. Dream/Black, Almas/Drew, and War Games were all great, fatal four way was really good, and Lars vs Ohno was the hard hitting match it needed to be.
NXT delivers a great show again.

Considering the restrictions, WarGames was surprisingly good. The match could have been a disaster, but they went easy on the over-choreographed spots and did a good job of peppering each moment with some actual rasslin. It still wasn't WrestleWar '92, but then again, what is? Undisputed are getting pushed to the moon, which is odd considering Almas is the NXT Champion now. I wonder if that was always the plan, or whether Drew's injury messed things up?
Given how the match played out, I highly doubt they called the audible. McIntyre gave Almas the majority of the match and Cien was great in the driver's seat. As much as I enjoy Drew, I'm looking forward to Almas' run and hope they keep it on him until Mania weekend. A Black-Almas program would be a no-brainer at this point in time, especially since they tore the house down earlier this year.
Great show, did HHH book this?

War Games was a nice spectacle, but I was into Dream/Black and Almas/McIntyre a lot more. Anyone else think the finish to War Games was really dumb? Young holds a chair up to his face so that Cole can sick kick the chair in his face and get the win.
Almas beating Drew was a huge shocker. When Drew kicked out of the spike hurricanrana/hammerlock DDT combo, I thought there's no way Almas is winning. Then Almas survived the Claymore, which added a little doubt. Still I was shocked when Almas got the pin after that spike DDT thing. I love the story of Zelina Vega supporting Almas to the top, first by encouraging him to be more aggressive in matches, then interfering herself. I've not seen a manager used in that way ever.

At first I thought the finish (to Wargames) was underwhelming, but they did do that spot where Cole absolutely nailed Young with a cane. The shot knocked Young loopy and in a final act, he went to reach for a weapon, but he was so rattled Cole was able to put him away. In that respect, it made it seem like a war, like a soldier reaching out for his gun as one last resort only to be out-gunned.

I agree, but they should’ve set that spot up by having Cole attempt the shining wizard earlier, with Young using the chair to block it. The final spot would’ve been way more impactful because you’d already have seen what EY was trying to do.

I dunno if it's just Drew being a legit tall dude, but man Selena Vega looked tiny in the match.

5'1" v 6'5" @ness, Almas at 5'9" - it was a great little piece of psychology, showing the mountain Almas needed to climb.
I really like Almas as Champion. He's been one of the most underrated guys in NXT for a long-time. His match with Gargano is anything to go by, he should have a great run. For those doubting Almas already on social media, Almas as Champion is potentially a return to those great light heavyweight style affairs NXT is known for. Drew and Roode are good, but they are very much the modern main roster heavyweight archetypes.
Zelina Vega was good in her role. She looked great and these two will have a good run.
