90-DAY NO COMPETE KAIRI CLAUSE: Slight wrestling discussion "up north" with what looks like the end of the 90-day no compete for those released in the spring cleaning batch. Could they go to TNA and AEW? At this point does it matter? Wrestling is about as dead of an industry as American Gladiators. Ummm, I would actually be interested in watching that. As long as those foam mallets are 6' in length of course! Also talk of Kairi Sane and how badly she was wasted. Who do I blame? Shayna? Nah, it's all on Gargano.

BUYING HOUSES: So looks like a lot of job updates on PW Personal Lives today. RT is set to appear on both Raw and Nitro in the future and 🤯 is deciding on if he wants to go to Company A or B. Would love if they worked for the same place this whole time and didn't know it. Lunch breaks coulda been so much more eventful. I don't have any other job updates. I guess we need to find out if iron maiden is still using an open office deal.

WHY IS WIFE MORE OVER THAN ME?: PW Wrestling has their schedule ready. Unlike real wrestling it looks like it may actually have an off season. Wonder if everyone should start gathering signatures to form a UNION. I'm not saying rad is gonna screw you over, but he is part of management! What is he even paying you guys in? A meatball sub? Cheap ass probably not even splurging for a footlong. Oh yeah, Rain Main is up next for Road Trip. Guess it works. Tom Cruise seems to have a duffle bag on the poster. And at least the names are lined up. Friggin Blues Bros.

Indifferent day yesterday, I agree. I did find a few places to post in the end though.

I disagree about wrestling dying. Chat might have died here, but there's still a lot of really good things happening. I doubt there will ever be a boom period again because of the changes to the way media is consumed, but a few years ago the idea of a second genuinely national sized promotion in America would have been laughed at, and even if PW hasn't got on board, AEW is pretty awesome. I think there are a few reasons that guys leaving WWE don't get the same hype that they once did - one being that the "indy guys" have broken the glass ceiling so there's not as much furore around anyone being held down, and the second being that most of the recently released guys from WWE just weren't that good anyway.

A lot of the early Joshi retirements are injury related because of how brutal the style is. For every Ayumi Kurihara there's Meiko Satomura though.

The Johnny Gargano hate is still not getting old.

I also thought today felt like a Sunday! More than that, I thought it WAS Sunday for a while.

I wouldn't say wrestling was a fad. It's been around far too long for that. Wrestling was also a lot more popular prior to the Hulkamania Era than people realize. Meltzer (or somebody like that) once did a great writeup showing just how popular wrestling was before Hulkamania. Think about it. Multiple territories throughout the US were drawing thousands of fans on a regular basis.

I do think wrestling is becoming more and more of a niche thing though. I also don't think it will ever return to mainstream prominence.

The big Joshi fed back in the 80s and 90s (AJW?) had a mandatory retirement age of 26, which was always crazy to me.

Agree on the Brock Lock being an underrated submission hold. 

My old boss recently pulled an RT by taking a good portion of the staff with him to his new job. I was one of the first two asked to defect. I declined. Because I'm an idiot. Now basically everybody else worthwhile at my job is gone. Like I said, an idiot is me.

PI lives in the great state of Pennsylvania. He was a resident of Massachusetts until fairly recently.

These were awesome. My brother and I collected them as youngsters in the 80s. You got them in gumball machines at the grocery store. We used to play all kinds of games with them. Because people had to find creative ways of killing time before the internet.
