STEALING THE SHOW-YA?: Interesting thoughts on the future in this pandemic. Some predicted that WWE would be back to having crowds again by Summerslam, but clearly not. Are we ever going to normalcy or is this it? Ness is okay with it. Considering some people's dental habits, maybe masks are a good idea? Also apparently Sonya Deville had a stalker try and kidnap her recently? I give the results of the showdown and if her "hair up and square up" worked out for her. Also 1RealSmartAlex updated FFCW. Not with a show but with a GRAPHIC showing the finalized card.
AUSSIES ARE INDIAN GIVERS: So it looks like the Gift Exchange may not go down. Without any more Australians joining up seems System and sandylea have dropped out like I did with college. Given international shipping it's probably for the best. Even including them there wasn't much interest, so I guess it's as over as modern wrestling (it isn't). pduh has jumped right into the 21st Century by giving us an full update of all his upcoming guests. Do this going forward as the numerous updated posts can be difficult to read.
Also an updated villain, no influential addition and umm... 🤯 ignored all our correspondence on giving an official statement regarding being a daddy. I feel neglected. Two more cringe inducing shows left. Suck it PW!

Shit, what was I supposed to say? We're home now and so far adjusting way easier than I thought we would. I'm way more worried about this new job being an epic mistake, strange as that may sound all things considered. And didn't really get that "oh shit, wait what" feeling iNCY described when discharging from the hospital. Kinda glad the nonstop check-ins are done and we'll be able to settle into our own routine and rhythm now. So Big Pete I think asked for a little play by play? Here goes... Wife wakes up at 3:30am on 8/14 with what I guess was first contraction. She's not 100% sure, but by 4am they're happening in sequence enough that she's like maybe I better get one last shower in. After the shower, they're happening every five minutes and lasting a minute each. I figure I better get a shower in just in case too. After 45 minutes of this, Wife gives doc a call. They call back probably 15 minutes later and say to head on in to the hospital. It's about a 40-minute drive to the hospital. And boy oh boy, it was the most intense commute I've ever made into the city! Intervals shortened from 1-minute contractions every five minutes to 2-minute contractions every 3 minutes during the course of the drive. When she wasn't hyperventilating through the pain, Wife was screaming. It's no contest; son made Wife howl louder than I ever have. I yield the throne. Between screams, I try to ask Wife to give me a heads-up if we need to pull over for an improvised roadside delivery. Fortunately we make it to the hospital. Triage nurses have Wife at 5cm and whatever other stats are relevant that I didn't hear, understand, or remember. They draw some blood, ask if Wife wants an epidural (YESSS!!!), and get us moving toward the delivery room. By the time we get to the delivery room, Wife is 7cm+ and anesthesiologists are nowhere to be found. Anesthesiologists show up at the eleventh hour, and we skip talking consent and signing paperwork to get epidural into dat spinal column before it's too late. We backfill with consent and signatures after the fact. (If only college party dates worked like that!) Epidural brings pain levels down from a 10/10 to, I dunno... Something so manageable that Wife made the rest look relatively easy when gauging against dramatic TV and movie scenes. Epidural removed feeling from waist down or whatever, so Wife struggled to tell what was happening or how to push. I even thought labor had paused or stopped. But I guess it was progressing in the meantime unbeknownst to us, as the doctor comes in around 9am... Checks, says Wife is complete +2cm, breaks Wife's water, and says PUSH. Wife pushes for an hour and a half. son doesn't like her pushing, so his heart rate drops and takes a while to come back each round of pushing. Doctor isn't liking this. Nurse says as long as they (they being docs and nurses) are calm, we (we being me and Wife) should be calm. As soon as nurse says this, doctor summons like twenty people in scrubs into the room along with some medical cart. Wife and me are like... Uhhh, so is this when we panic then or stay calm? Doctor says PUSH, and that was the last round. I see the head come out, and I'm like HOLY SHIT. Did not expect him to come with that much hair. Jealous of that hairline. Then his shoulders, and POP! son is out. Just like that. Oh, but he shit in the birth canal, so he comes out looking a little extra gross. But honestly not nearly as gross as I would've imagined. Half the crew shuttles him over for getting weighed, etc. That's where I snap that pic that became my favorite gif of all time. On the way back, I see the placenta in this pan at bedside. Looked like some dead sea monster, all bloody and alien and gross. But again, not as bad as I thought either somehow? Oh, by the way, the doctor peer pressured me into cutting the umbilical cord. It was like scissoring through a thick rubber band. Did it in stride to my surprise. Wife and in-laws can never tease me about passing out again. Fuck you, Nonna! As soon as I saw that hairy little head popping out, the light switch (as UT put it once upon a time) FLIPPED INSTANTLY. Super cool feeling and experience. Time of birth was 10:38am, so all in all it was only 7 hours start to finish including the craziest car ride of my life. Wife barely broke a sweat, which still floors me, and rebounded so quick. Definite bad ass rock star, and I'm eternally grateful the stronger sex (i.e., females) bear children. Wife thinks if no epidural she gives birth possibly an hour or two earlier, but probably tears as a consequence. As it was, only two stitches needed. What a fucking Amazon warrior champ. Will try not to totally become that every-parent cliché, but make no guarantees. Instantly and absolutely understood all the hype of fatherhood. Dopest rush I've ever felt. So apologies if I end up gushing annoyingly... Feel free to check me if it gets too bad. Right now, 2+ days in, I'm estimating the love at approximately one trillion times my love for Brock Lesnar. So, take that for whatever it's worth.

The gift exchange is an awesome idea but pandemic makes it complicated, hope Foos isn’t too disheartened by it. I forgot for a second that most Australian posters are in Victoria on lockdown when I put my hand up for Australia only.

Thanks 🤯 for the breakdown. Labor is crazy. I am glad it was relatively quick and everyone is healthy. I was in labor for 53 hours. I should have had a C section after 24 hours but they were backed up. I could go on and on as things didn’t go well for me and basically it’s the reason there is only one. If you guys knew what happens to women’s bodies during and after you’d hug your mom and wives a little tighter. Wife is a rockstar for sure!!!

If you guys knew what happens to women’s bodies during and after you’d hug your mom and wives a little tighter. Wife is a rockstar for sure!!! Tell me boss lady... All the US midwife shows on TV here (My wife loves them) show just about every woman having an epidural, is it the same in Canada? My wife did both of ours medication free as that was the advice on what is best for the baby. My totally non-scientific observance of the US shows is that the labors seem to stall more frequently with the woman unable to tell if she is really pushing.

Nothing in life has made me feel like more of a guilty son than the past however many days it's now been, realizing what parents but especially moms go through. Such newfound respect.

However, I am thankful for it because if I had to have gone through that without something to take the edge off after 53 hours of dry labor I’m not sure what would have happened. So many things went wrong for me and caused me issues for years afterward but honestly, I am just glad my daughter was/is healthy. The US for being considered a first world country actually has one of the highest rates of maternal death.

Did anyone else start humming along to Arm's Wide Open while reading 🤯's post? If it wasn't the era of Covid, I'd find the closest cliff and Randy Orton pose topless while my drone films me shirtless. Like I said, I'm so glad everything seemed so seamless and I'm so proud of Wife. You guys are going to be amazing parents and I can't wait until the eventual Getting my son into Pro Wrestling threads.

That is interesting, in Australia as the mother it is your choice but there is a 100% push on to best outcome which is often the most natural path. So the Epi isn't discouraged, but it is certainly not just what everyone does by default. We had an issue with out first where my wife hadn't settled into regular contractions so they sent us home. All night she was in pain with contractions, we went in the next morning and she was fully effaced and 8cm dialated, she had transitioned at home. She is a tough bastard, but our daughters heart rate had dropped while pushing and she had to be vacuumed and my poor wife ended up with a 3rd degree tear. Second child was much more manageable and we went nearly 2 weeks over, and the OB brought on labour the day before they would have tried to induce.

Second child was much more manageable and we went nearly 2 weeks over, and the OB brought on labour the day before they would have tried to induce. My water broke but I had no contractions so they hooked me up to Pitosin a drug that stimulates labor/contractions. Once your water breaks they can’t send you hone. I was getting violent contractions and no dialation now they are concerned of a dry birth which sounds about as fun as it was. Then Caycee’s heart rate dropped but they couldn’t rush me for a C section because she was already in the birth canal. I was terrified so I told them to get the squat bar and I hulked up but I needed help from forceps and vacuum because I was too exhausted after 53 hours of contractions/labor. I tore so badly I had over 40 stitches and there was my ex asking the Dr to throw in a couple more to make me ‘tighter’. What a moron. I think the nurse almost brained him. The next day they sent me home, because I’d ruined their statistics by taking too long to have her, despite me telling them that something was wrong. Women’s legs swell after childbirth but my thighs were the same size as my ankles and my lady parts were also excessively swollen. They assured me it was normal. I went home and felt horrible. I could barely take care of her. I was having explosions of fluid and I didn’t know if I was peeing myself or what. I would go violently cold and then sweltering hot. I remember telling my husband I was going to lie down because I thought I’d caught the flu. Then I passed a blood clot the size of my forearm. The letter they sent me home with said to call if I passed a blood clot any bigger than a quarter so I called and they told me to go to emergency right away. I go to emerg and they take me in right away. They were waiting for me. The Dr comes in and tells me I am full of infection so much so my stitches are falling out and that they have to re-Catherize me to ensure it isn’t my bladder but that it’s going to hurt because the nurse ripped my urethra taking it out the first time. So after that joyous fun and them now knowing it wasn’t my bladder I’m sent for an emergency ultrasound to confirm that I am ‘toxic’ due to retained particles of birth and that I could have died if I didn’t come in when I did. Next morning off I go for an emergency D&C (that’s where they clean everything out), two weeks of IV treatments and by 27 due to complications over the years due to this trauma and endometriosis my uterus is removed. And that’s why there is only one and why I am so happy to live in Canada because that all cost me $0, just normal taxes. Hug your women folk. They are amazing!

Yes, we nearly lost our first... The second had a heart rate that was way too high, the baby was in distress and they wouldn't let us go home... Mix in the losses we had along the way and I can tell you hand on heart I found nothing magical about the birth experience. I was terrified and anxious the entire time. Completely jealous of people who have easy experiences.

Whenever someone tells me they had an easy birth I’m like ‘isn’t that great’ through clenched teeth.
The first question I usually ask is how mom and baby are. Because of my experience I worry. It’s a magical but also scary ass time, which you can attest to. It must be tough on you guys too because you are technically helpless just hoping everything goes ok.

I agree with you, Hollywood makes everything seem magical and easy, when it is not. Childbirth is the single most dangerous thing an average woman will do in her entire life. We had huge issues with feeding as well, we got in three different lactation consultants who all said everything looked find with my daughters latch. My wife got chopped up bloody and infected and that just didn't seem right.... We took my daughter to a speech therapist at 3 because her speaking wasn't entirely clear... 100% massive tongue tie. Had is lasered and with a couple of months of speech therapy my daughter speaks perfectly, better than all the kids in her class. But like you said, you have to trust you instincts and always get a second or third opinion sooner rather than later... And always get help if you need it 🤯,

The best thing about newborn-induced no-sleep is syncing up with Australian timezones! Whenever someone tells me they had an easy birth I’m like ‘isn’t that great’ through clenched teeth. And always get help if you need it 🤯, Yeah, that last part felt innate once we were in our recovery room. I forget what subject exactly prompted it, but Wife quipped back "yeah, but they're the doctor" to something I said or suggested that we clearly both disagreed with the doctor on. Think it became clear in that moment for mama to trust her instincts first and foremost, then listen to doctors and nurses, and if what they say doesn't gel with instincts, seeks that second or third opinion since doctors/nurses can have differing or even outright conflicting opinions from one another.

PW NEWS EPISODE 98 (14:53) STEALING THE SHOW-YA?: Interesting thoughts on the future in this pandemic. Suck it PW! Listening & (Hopefully) Pooping... Clearing the Backlog: The Last Hoorah, VOL. 3 - Part 4 of 6 feat. Newsman @ness
- Hey, @ness, didn't you just do an episode yesterday? How can I enroll in the 101 course? - Most notable moment from 1998 was Owen Hart becoming Jenny's white boyfriend Blank Panthers simp. (Did I use simp correctly?) - They should cancel all live events, period. Let's revisit the backlog. Nothing any wrestling promotion books now or in the future will ever surpass or even meet the greatness of past eras. - People are pussies, that's why they complain about wearing masks. - What's the male equivalent of a Karen? Seems like a question for theend to help us explore. - Is Sonya Deville even hot enough to stalk? I have no idea what she looks like. For some reason I'm assuming he's a rough-looking butch gal. She at least got a decent tiddy situation going on? - Random Brauns patrolling like the sentinels in X-Men: The Animated Series. - Marty's Life WILL return. They're totally off the fly. I don't want to get bogged down by my OCD and tendency to overthink. And I only started it because I'm totally open to the influence of suggestion. Particularly if that suggestion comes from Newsman @ness. - YES! I too was frustrated by the inability to copy/paste for FFCW predictions. Room for improvement, 1RealSmartAlex. - pduh evolving the Let's Talk Podcast game throughout August. Looking forward to everything except some guy named Mike's guest spot. - Australian generosity meets Australian penny-pinching with the gift exchange and international logistics. Too bad Americans are too greedy to give to others! - Perfect recap of every page of the politics thread. Not nearly enough AOC gifs. - Without missing a beat, UT is back at it. Minus that sustained whole note he missed while he was pulling a Cabin in the Woods. - What IS Dr. Emperor's username a reference to? I always just assumed imperial Japan. 🇯🇵 🇯🇵 🇯🇵 - What is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3? An RPG? A fighting game? Dynasty Warriors? - A final big blowout advertising stunt in the works for the grand finale, eh? SUCK IT, PW!!!

The mystery of my username will never be revealed. I'm not sure even I know the reason anymore.

MUA3 is a mini-game in Paper Mario. So sleep deprived I can't tell you how long it took me to realize what a Mau3 was. And there's a 3D version of Mario!? The mystery of my username will never be revealed. I'm not sure even I know the reason anymore. Nah, you're a baseball fanatic and you had no idea how to spell umpire. I like this theory. Henceforth, Dr. Umpire it is!
