The issue I am seeing is Kahn stopped the match, but hedged. That should be a concern. Gut feeling was the match should be stopped, but he let it go on. This is the shit that CZW or Ian would do that lead to to at least one death.
For an example of how this could have went lets go to 2010 and talk JC Bailey. Bailey goes KotDM and takes some had hits to the head but seems to be fine so no one ships him to the hospital and backstage medics see no issue. He rests for a bit then does ToD the next month. This video shows highlights of the night but the moment of interest is 54 secs into this video Bailey takes a DDT on the top of his head.
Docs are backstage to quickly check guys. So Bailey shows no signs of a concussion or injury and wrestles two more matches, getting checked over fast after each one. No one had reason to suspect anything.
Following this, Bailey heads to rehab. At rehab, he would have been seen by a doctor and watched regularly by medical professionals. He complained of numbness in his arm and headaches, but people assumed it was withdrawal. After a few weeks, JC Bailey is released from rehab.
Three day later Bailey dies from a brain aneurysm. The DDT ruptured the bruises that past concussions and the damage he took at KotDM caused. He then bleed out over the course of a month, while doctors were working with him. Eventually the blood loss grew so great his brain stopped getting enough oxygen and he died. His brain bleed for 30 days while he slowly died under the care of several medical professionals who had no idea he was dying or he was even injured and did not think to run any tests, which would have shown instantly he was severely hurt.
So while Matt was not hurt and the right calls were made, in the past the wrong calls have killed people. Something as simple as seeing a spot that may have led someone to being severely hurt and stopping a match to run tests then and there is very important and can save lives. Hedging on this though can lead to problems. Even if after that DDT Bailey was rushed to the hospital, he would have only had a 50-50 shot of living. If he survived the surgery, he would have had serious problems from the brain damage for the rest of his life and would have likely slipped into a coma he would not have woken up from.
Benoit's injuries were nowhere near as bad as what happened to Bailey and everyone knows how bad that ended.
