That call worked all night , don’t be ridiculous. As always had it worked it would have been genius. Yep absolutely. O-line just didn't get their blocks on the left side. They had 10 men coming in, no way the OLine was going to get the push upfront for the 3 or so yards to get that in. They moved down the field with ease by passing, for them to not have a single option to come off and be there if Newton glances out there is moronic.

It's like the Pats really thought Seattle would have never seen that look before for them to try that. Belichick always has TEs on his roster, he always puts an emphasis on that but didn't even bother to have an eligible TE on that play to get open and be there as an option after the snap for Newton.

It's wild that game came down to a yard or two considering Wilson put on one of the most clinical quarterbacking displays I've ever seen.
Seattle's only real problem is their lack of pass rush. Adams is really the only guy who can generate pressure, and when they had to keep him in coverage because of their lack of depth in the secondary, Newton had all day to pass. The offence is good enough for them to beat basically everyone though.

They had him lined up under shotgun at the 1 like they did twice already. Maybe Cam made a wrong read but the play call was fine.

It was definitely the right call. There is so much that needs to go right for the Seahawks to stop that play with the Patriots offensive line, the full-back, plus Cam. It worked all game so you keep doing it. The execution was poor from the offensive line which Belichick would not have expected.
I thought it was a great game. Both teams are going to be super-exciting, particularly the Seahawks with their variety at the wide receiver position giving Wilson choices in the passing game. I was really pleasantly surprised by Cam's arm and his reading of the field outside of one ill-advised throw to the flat. Two play-off teams IMO.

I disagree, I have Newton throw it as they knew Newton would try his feet there and I think most knew what was coming. With nothing lined up immediately as a receiver told Seattle what was coming just a matter of where they were running to and given Seattle has the speed to run all over sideline to sideline, this wasn't working. Not a final play choice. How about Belichick not using that timeout to stop 10-15 seconds from getting swallowed or having Newton come up asap and spike the ball? Belichick was silent about the reason for that Very rare gaff for him to not manage the clock. R Beloved Bills in a good spot in that division.

Oh and Stephon Gilmore got the business a couple of times from Metcalf, I know Metcalf isn't a slouch but I wonder if Gilmore is going to have problems with those physical/strong type of WRs. Devantae Parker did the same to him last year.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves on the AFC East. Buffalo looks good but they struggled to put away the Jets then nearly choked against Fitzmagic and a garbage Miami defence. Allen played great but Buffalo let them stay in the game. Again.
Cam and the Pats look way more solid than I thought they would. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they still take the division.

The injuries this year are going to be awful. Even worse is if the turf at JetLife stadium is this bad, the chances of injuries for the worst team in the NFL will only go up. Nevermind my fantasy side with like 3 or 4 losses alone yesterday, seeing so many players down only makes the product look worse.
Jets vs Broncos is a TNF game.................Jeff Driskel, Jerry Jeudy with no preseason no.1 WR, no Von Miller, lost one of their RBs, and a wounded secondary and linebacker core. Ugly game upcoming.

I think we can calm down with the hysteria over the Metlife turf. I don't blame the 49ers players for being upset but there were no problems throughout training camp or during the Giants/Steelers game.
The schedule is really where the beef should be - I'm not sure why a west coast team is playing back to back in New Jersey. Houston too have plenty to complain about seeing as their chances of making the playoffs were basically doomed as soon as the fixtures were released.

Why would having Chiefs/Ravens as game 1/2 have any more impact than having them weeks 9 & 13? Two losses are two losses and now the hardest part is over. I also would be happy to be SF just staying in NY rather than traveling west to east twice.

For some reason Covid won’t allow them to. Don’t really know what the difference is. Probably just missing something.

Kamara is ripping off big chunks against the Raiders early. Why would having Chiefs/Ravens as game 1/2 have any more impact than having them weeks 9 & 13? Two losses are two losses and now the hardest part is over. They play the Steelers next week - that's the three best teams in the conference to start the season. There's only been a handful of teams that have made the playoffs after going 0-3. It's a ridiculously tough start for a team that's in a reasonable amount of flux entering the season with a number of new skill position players.

It sucks for them but at the same time they’re a playoff team , a professional team and have to show up. Schedule makers don’t know how everything is going to play out - they could be 1-1.
Also to be fair , the Steelers weren’t even a playoff team last year.

With all the injuries yesterday it feels like we really need to appreciate the best playmakers while they're on the field! Alvin Kamara looks back to his best tonight.
The Raiders offence has so much potential but Derek Carr has to improve his field vision. There's been a few opportunities for big plays that he simply hasn't seen or tried to hit.

The Raiders defense is embarrassingly bad. Lordy.
Also wouldn’t hurt to get a professional quarterback who knew how to run the WCO.
It’s touchdown to check down , Carr reads check down to check down.

To be fair that's two good drives by Carr after taking those pretty ugly back to back sacks. He's spreading the ball around - basically everyone except Ruggs has a reception.
Defence needs to do their bit and at least keep the Saints out of the end zone before half time.

Those were some...interesting play calls from Gruden in the redzone.
Still, you'd take a tied game at half time considering what it looked like early.
